An Arc is a series of episodes in the SMG4 series that form a major interconnected storyline. A Mini-Arc is just like an arc, except that they only run for an average of 2-5 episodes. Since 2018, arcs are made annually, with the exception of its first year and 2022 having two arcs in a single year and 2023 onwards with the PUZZLEVISION story in lieu, which introduced a continuity in the series.
Arcs usually end with a plot twist and/or major change to the series as well as major character development as the absurdity might just spiral into dire consequences, as the villains threaten to change their lives permanently.
Arcs[]
Standalone Arcs (2018-2019)[]
The first Arc in the series involving Waluigi having enough of being rejected from entering Smash Bros for too long and he plans to show the world what it feels like to be completely rejected.
(2020-2022)[]
The SMG4 Cosmology Lore is the first story saga in the SMG4 series and is composed of the fourth, fifth and sixth arcs. It began on June 20, 2020 with Mario's Spicy Day 🔥 and concluded on April 2, 2022 with SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS. It is the second longest running story counting all three arcs in total, running for a total of 1 year, 8 months and 13 days.
The most challenging test of all comes for the gang as SMG4 embarks on his most unforgettable and dangerous journey yet to uncover his true origins and the history of his universe, all while facing a powerful sinister force threatening to destroy everything. Along the way, he and the gang attend Omnia Academy to learn to control their powers, form unlikely alliances, and battle a mysterious cult, as they uncover shocking revelations about the Super Meme Guardians and confront their greatest enemies yet to save the universe and the one thing that's keeping it alive.
This story saga establishes a fully retroactive myth arc, marking the true origin of the SMG4 series and its universe. It has a science fiction comedy-drama horror mystery dark fantasy theme and genre.

The fourth Arc in the series involving SMG3 getting fed up with his failures and forms a company called Snitch Productions and stealing the YouTube Remote from Susan Wojcicki in one final attempt to erase SMG4's Gang from existence for good, replacing them with his own Anti-Cast. Now Mario must stop him before it's too late.

The fifth Arc in the series involving SMG4 embarking on a quest to uncover the truth about his origins and the true history of his universe, with two mysterious strangers offering answers. When a powerful and sinister entity threatens to destroy everything, SMG4 and the gang must form unlikely alliances and realize their true potential to stop their greatest enemy yet and protect the very thing that keeps the universe alive. Will the SMGs and their allies save Mario and finish the fight against The monstrous being known as Zero, or will it all fade into nothing?

The sixth arc in the series revolving around the aftermath of the Genesis Arc and Melony's training to control her unstable powers, which are ultimately used to unleash a greater evil, all while questioning if their new ally is truly helpful or connected to their past enemy.
Standalone Arc (2022)[]
(2023-2024)[]
PUZZLEVISION is the second story saga in the SMG4 series and the eighth pseudo-arc. It began on February 18, 2023 with SMG4... Are You Ok? and has yet to be concluded. The name of this story was revealed on March 24, 2024. It is also the longest storyline on the channel, currently running for a total of 889 days.
SMG4 and his friends world turns completely upside down when they find themselves trapped in a nightmarish spiraling world as they face increasingly bizarre and dangerous threats, ultimately uncovering a larger sinister force manipulating their lives for entertainment and control over their show and their entire universe. As every step will test their courage and every puzzle will challenge their mind, The crew must navigate through this distorted bizzare world to reclaim their freedom before they become permanent prisoners of a never ending TV series. Along the way, the gang must grow a stronger bond as their friendship will grow like never before, while trying not to lose their minds and go insane in the process. Little do they know that their lives will ultimately change forever.
Unlike the SMG4 Cosmology Lore, PUZZLEVISION is the first story saga to not be divided in many arcs, rather consisting of normal bloopers and movies.

- WOTFI 2024: Puzzle Park closes down permanently, Didney gets shut down, and Mr. Puzzles gets arrested and placed in solitary confinement for all of his crimes as Puzzlevision has now been abandoned and became nothing more than a forgotten distant memory. Meggy tells Mario that her Puzzle Leggy Ego is now tamed, and SMG4 takes the rides from the Park to use for the Showgrounds as upgrades.
- "The Karen Arc": Zack, Cory, and Katie are still adapting to their new powers, Mr. WPNZ is still alive, Mr. Puzzles introduces himself to him and asks him if he wants to work together.
Mini-Arcs[]
A mini-arc is an unofficial story that consists of at least 2 episodes and maximum 5 episodes. They are generally conflicts or stories spreading over several episodes, being a side problem during an arc. Additionally, a mini-arc does not get its own official playlist.
The PUZZLEVISION arcs (besides chapters 4, and 6) are called mini-arcs, but their format is more rather a regular arc as condensed into several episodes.

Trivia[]
- A sign that the next episode of an ongoing arc will be the finale or a concluding episode is that the background of the outro is gray and there is no music playing.
- However, this is not always the case. In SMG4: The Splatfest Incident, the outro is silent despite the episode not being the penultimate episode of The Anime Arc.
- This is also not the case with the untitled Karen arc, where both SMG4: You Shouldnt Have Done That and SMG4: Enough is Enough were grayscaled and missing the outro music.
- Each of the Arcs presents an underlying theme of satire against a popular/unpopular trend at the time, often used as the basis for the arc's plotline.
- The Waluigi Arc addressed the issue regarding Waluigi not being playable in any Super Smash Bros. games, especially Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as the overall toxicity of its competitive fan-base.
- The Rapper Bob Arc takes a jab at the entire "diss track culture" brought upon by Jake Paul and the infamous feud between PewDiePie and T-Series.
- The Anime Arc as a whole pokes fun of the entire anime community and all of its problems, such as the over-saturation of many mainstream anime, the constant in-fighting between anime fandoms, and its many controversies. The first half in particular is a satire on the supposed passing of the European Union's Article 13 (Directive Article 17), which proposed the banning of the user-created content in European-occupied nations, particularly internet memes, of which thankfully never came to fruition.
- The SMG4 Cosmology Lore consists of three arcs. The YouTube Arc, Genesis Arc and Revelations Arc, each with different themes.
- The YouTube Arc addressed the many issues involving YouTube in recent years, such as the various cease-and-desist notices towards user-created content with copyright media, the failures of YouTube Rewind (including the cancellation of YouTube Rewind 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic), the mass demonetization of many online personalities, and Susan Wojcicki's controversial tenure as the CEO of the company.
- The Genesis Arc, interestingly enough, addressed the many issues and complaints in regards to the series as a whole, such as the drastic tone shift from comedy to dramedy, the changes regarding certain characters, the retooling of the series' existing lore and the resulting continuity inconsistencies, and the establishment of the series' perma-death aspect.
- The Revelations Arc addresses the issues of plot holes in the lore presented by the Genesis Arc (including SMG0's origin story), the aftermath of Axol's controversial death, which many fans were upset about, and the severe impacts it had on SMG4's Gang (especially Melony).
- The Lawsuit Arc addressed the issue regarding Nintendo's staunch, often-times intolerant and uncompromising attitude and stance on copyright and fanmade Nintendo content, even when it's non-profit. This also serves as a metaphor for the series' use of the Australian Fair Use law to ensure its longevity, as it falls under parody and satire.
- PUZZLEVISION addressed the manipulative, shallow, and overtly pandering practices of the entertainment industry as a whole, as well as the lengths they will go to eradicate competition or induct new recruits at the expense of authenticity, namely in independent creators.
- Each Arc are often resolved by/focused on an original character.
- The Waluigi Arc: Tari. Being one of the few characters who avoided being turned into one of Waluigi's T-Pose Zombies, she took control of SMG4, and the two destroyed Waluigi's scepter, reverting the T-Pose Zombies back to normal.
- The Rapper Bob Arc: Saiko Bichitaru. Realizing that Bob crossed the line by insulting his "friends" and bragging about his glory with the "Ultimate Diss Track", Saiko joined forces with SMG4's Gang to take revenge against Bob by singing "Darkest Hour". This pummels Bob's popularity and sends him on a path of self-discovery and redemption, earning him back his friends' trust and apologizing for his actions.
- The Anime Arc: Desti and Axol. Desti's concern towards Meggy, as well as the sudden disappearance of Inkopolis' inhabitants, leads her into joining SMG4's Gang in the battle on Anime Island against the diabolical Francis. She also encouraged Axol before her untimely death and gave him the strength to retrieve Inkweaver and used it to defeat Francis by creating Ultra Instinct Shaggy Rogers, using the last of Meggy's inkling ink. Additionally, Axol helped lift the Anime Ban, and Inkweaver was the main weapon of conflict in the second half of the arc.
- The YouTube Arc: The Anti-Cast and Meggy Spletzer. With her newly-acquired human voice, Meggy convinced the Anti-Cast through song about SMG3's deception and lies, opening the path for both SMG4's Gang and the Anti-Cast to take him down.
- Genesis Arc and Revelations Arc: SMG1 and SMG2 and Melony Melone.
- In the Genesis Arc, SMG1 and SMG2's appearance during Niles' initial attack (as Eldritch SMG0) allowed SMG4 and SMG3 to unlock their true potentials as Super Meme Guardians and aided Melony in defeating a Niles-possessed Axol.
- In the Revelations Arc, Melony learns about Niles' origins, his connection to the God Box, how he killed his own avatar and betrayed his friend SMG0, as well as the atrocities he committed as Eldritch SMG0. This gives her the motivation to fight against Niles and finally puts him down, with the help of SMG1, SMG2, SMG3, SMG4, and Mario, alongside SMG0, who willingly sacrifices his life to stop Niles. SMG1 and SMG2 are also responsible for destroying the God Box.
- The Lawsuit Arc: SMG4 and Meggy Spletzer. SMG4 and Meggy worked together to create the parody contract that would allow all the non-Nintendo characters to stay in the Mushroom Kingdom. Their "deaths" also motivated Mario to bring the parody contract in front of Judge Kirby to undo the effects of the Super DMCA signed by Shigeru Miyamoto. Meggy also represented SMG4 in the trial of SMG4 v. Nintendo, which they ended up winning.
- PUZZLEVISION: SMG3, Meggy Spletzer, Tari, SMG4, Mario, and SMG4's Gang.
- In SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT, SMG3 saved SMG4, who was possessed by The Mysterious Keyboard and finally redeems himself for his past actions.
- In SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI, Meggy Spletzer used her abilities for defeat her idol Oneshot Wren, with help from Tari, but Meggy is unfortunately still emotionally scarred from the event to this day.
- In SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2023, SMG3 along with SMG4 planned a heist in the Casino Paisano in order of recover SMG3's notebook from the hands of Marty and Mario
- In SMG4 Movie: PUZZLEVISION, SMG4's Gang were able to escape from Mr. Puzzles and his simulations.
- In Meme Wave Mini-Arc and War Of The Fat Italians 2024, Mario was able to save Meggy Spletzer from her Leggy appearance, later he, SMG4 and Meggy Spletzer sent Mr. Puzzles to the jail for every, single crime he committed.
- The Karen Arc: Karen Katphish. Karen was able to save her kids from Mr. WPNZ by working together. She then teaches and trains her kids how to adapt their new powers the right way.
- In all arcs yet, of his own free will or not, Mario worked for the villain on one or more occasions:
- The Waluigi Arc: He helped Waluigi find his special move in SMG4: Waluigi's Time, which gave Waluigi the power of rejection, then was controlled by Waluigi to fight SMG4 in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2018.
- The Rapper Bob Arc: He worked for Bob Bobowski with Luigi in SMG4: The Mario Concert before being fired by Bob.
- The Anime Arc: He helped the Anime Cartel attempt to smuggle anime into the Mushroom Kingdom, and was forced to make back the money when the anime was destroyed. He also joined forces with them to lift the anime ban.
- The YouTube Arc: He joined SMG3's Anti-Cast and helped him steal the YouTube Remote.
- The Genesis Arc: An evil version of him called Mari0 was created by Niles to fight his friends.
- The Revelations Arc: He joined the Box Club and helped the Box Club Leader try and summon the God Box.
- The Lawsuit Arc: He turned back to his original self and worked with Shigeru Miyamoto for a Mario x Splatoon crossover game, and was brainwashed to fight against all non-Nintendo characters in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2022 by Lawyer Kong.
- PUZZLEVISION: He was one of the people controlled by Oneshot Wren in his simulation and he worked for Marty to steal and open SMG3's Sussy Notebook. He was also under the control of Mr. Puzzles during the run of his show. Later he was one of the people to go to Puzzle Park.
- The Karen Arc: He helped Mr. WPNZ to bring Cory, Katie and Zack to him, but later showed remorse for it when WPNZ's robotic glove made him almost kill SMG4.
- With the exception of Susan Wojcicki, Niles, Box Club Leader, Demonic Goop, Leggy, and Mr. WPNZ, every villain is related to Nintendo:
- Waluigi, Princess Peach, Francis and Mario are characters from the Mario franchise.
- Bob was a garo ninja, an enemy from Majora's Mask.
- SMG3 and SMG4's design were recolorations of Mario's N64 model.
- Lawyer Kong is Funky Kong, a character from the Donkey Kong franchise, as a lawyer.
- Shigeru Miyamoto is one of the current directors of Nintendo and the creator of several famous Nintendo games series.
- Desti, Team Killer Ink and Oneshot Wren are characters from the Splatoon video game series.
- Marty is heavily based on Mario and could represent him if he was redesigned to become an original Glitch IP.
- Mr. Puzzles is portrayed as a kid using a shadowed version of Ness' model.
- The Rapper Bob Arc is the first and currently the only arc that went through without changing the channel banner.
- Most arcs in the series end with the War of the Fat Italians series, the only exceptions being The Rapper Bob Arc, The Anime Arc and Revelations Arc.
- During the WOTFI 2022 Rap Battle, the previous arcs have been given core feelings:
