The Battle of Anime Island was a major battle fought on Thursday, June 6, 2019, during the waning hours of the Anime Crisis.
After the Anime Cartel discovered that using Inkling ink on manga artist Axol's pen capable of bringing anime and manga characters to life increases the intelligence, power, and obedience of its creations, started mass Inkling kidnappings. SMG4's Gang and the A.S.S. become aware of this, and after finding the location of the headquarters of the Anime Cartel on a remote archipelago off the coast of the Mushroom Kingdom, they join forces, acquire enough armaments and equipment for an assault on the headquarters, and sail towards the archipelago in an attempt to besiege the base and extract the Inklings.
The Allied Forces, despite some difficulty against powerful creations, are successful in killing the Anime Cartel's leader Francis and manage to extract almost the entire Inkling population held at the island. Anime Island was later obliterated by an extremely powerful ink creation self-destructing, killing what was left of the Anime Cartel. Sometime later, funerals were held for those who perished in the battle.
Prelude[]
The Anime Secret Service (A.S.S.) and the Anime Cartel were formed in the wake of the Anime Ban issued by Princess Peach. A.S.S. was created to stop the production and distribution of then-illegal anime in response to the immense collateral damage caused by Mario, Bob, and Fishy Boopkins' Anime Challenge.
The Anime Cartel was created thereafter by the weebs-turned-fugitives led by Francis. During that time, the A.S.S. had labeled SMG4's Gang as fugitives due to their activity with anime, whilst SMG4 himself allied with them due to the destruction the Anime Challenge caused.
After some time, and with the help of manga artist Axol, they managed to convince Princess Peach to lift the anime ban, dissolving the A.S.S and ending the Anime Crisis in time for Splatfest to start normally.
However, the Anime Cartel discovered that using inkling ink on manga artist Axol's pen capable of bringing anime and manga characters to life increases the intelligence, power, and obedience of its creations, kidnap Axol and start mass inkling abductions. However, when they abduct a member of SMG4's gang, the kidnapper drops an anime DVD, which prompts SMG4's Gang to attempt to convince what remained of the A.S.S. to assist them in finding the inklings.
After the discovery of a map leading to a remote archipelago with an island named "Anime Island", both groups correctly guess that the kidnapper-believed to be Axol at the time- was based there, and the A.S.S. reorganizes itself into a military force, acquiring a battleship and numerous landing craft. The Allied Forces then head towards the Archipelago
Mid-way through their journey, an ink creature resembling Godzilla appeared, abducting an octoling assisting the gang and took her to Anime Island, however, when it tried to intercept the allied forces, the false Godzilla was defeated by the mammoth-sized father of a member of SMG4's gang.
The Battle[]

On the morning of June 6, 2019, the Allied Forces arrived at the Archipelago and deployed numerous landing craft filled with soldiers. Chris, the commander of his squadron, ordered to clear out the machine gun-armed bunkers and get out of the beach once the boat lands.
Immediately after the allies land at the beach, they started to take heavy losses due to enemy machine gunfire and snipers. Later on, the allies started to make steady process until the border of the beach, which was too heavily defended with barbed wire. However, one soldier eats a land mine, and the force of the explosion blasted him through the rows of barbed wire, clearing the path for the allies.
The Allied Forces then storm the base, taking heavy losses while attempting to find the leader of the Anime Cartel and the inklings. As the allies continue to fight the enemy forces, SMG4's Gang managed to break into the room containing The Ink Zuccer 2000, only to fight the leader, Francis along with his creations. After a heated battle, Francis was finally defeated and left to die in a spare zuccer before the island was destroyed, but not before the Inklings were extracted.
Aftermath[]
The battle had caused the destruction of Anime Island, and the Anime Cartel's leader, Francis was killed during the battle. The rest of the Anime Cartel were wiped out during the explosion. Likewise, the allied forces (SMG4's gang and the A.S.S.) also sustained very heavy losses, with the A.S.S. losing a huge amount of agents during the battle, while SMG4's Gang lost one fighter of their own; she was later given a state funeral after the battle.
Meggy Spletzer (one of the captives held at Anime Island) was the most affected by the battle; Because of the excessive amount of ink extracted from her, many of her physical characteristics are gone (due to the fact that she was left with a lesser amount of ink to compose her body), and one of her friends was killed in action during the battle, which made her sad and depressed. Meggy would also keep Desti's promise of winning Splatfest for her, which was fulfilled in Meggy's Destiny. And thus, the Anime Crisis was now finally over.

- The date of the battle corresponds to the date of the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944 also known as D-Day.
- The landing could correspond to the landing on "Omaha Beach" since it is similar to the area shown in the video and the workshop page for the map is named "Omaha Beach".
- When the Anime Cartel were brutally torturing Inklings and Meggy, it's almost similar to The Holocaust and other similar German and Axis Powers war crimes where German soldiers and other Axis allies and collaborators were executing or brutally torturing Jews, Poles, Soviets, and many other political, ethnicity and ideological peoples during World War II. These war crimes were mostly perpetrated by the Gestapo, SS, Waffen-SS, their local collaborators and other Axis allies and Adolf Hitler.
