Become a Sponsor for SMG4! is the first promotional video to be uploaded by SMG4.
This video was aired on February 7th, 2018.
Hey guys! If you like the content we make and want to help support SMG4, then consider becoming a sponsor. There's a ton of awesome perks and rewards you'll receive and your contributions will help us make bigger and better things!
Youtube understands how much we rely on ad revenue to well.. stay alive and in light of the 'adpocalypse' earning that money has been extra difficult lately... The good news is Youtube has heard our plea and is rolling out a new sponsorship program for their creators, one which we were chosen to try out. If you don't have money to sponsor us, that's no problem! You can help us out by just watching more of our videos.
The video starts with Mario looking at a computer reacting to a blooper from SMG4. Suddenly, Luke Lerdwichagul (using some made-up voice) spoke to Mario, who faced the viewers, about becoming a sponsor for his channel. He went on to advertise what being a sponsor for him would do for the sponsor. Mario bought the idea and later on in the city, walked showing off the swag that the SMG4 sponsor badge has given him to its population.
As Mario approached Peach Toadstool, Luigi, and Toad, saying hi to them, Toad said he heard what Mario did regarding his money, which Mario responded with the SMG4 sponsor badge, which caused them to go crazy with excitement to get the badge for themselves by firing their money at SMG4 when he happened to walk by and join Mario in displaying the badge's swagness.
Then, a real-life segment started with Luke and Kevin Lerdwichagul saying hi to the viewers. Luke explained how he had been doing YouTube for a very long time and that both he and Kevin were lucky to have YouTube as their full-time job with plans on making even better SMG4 content.
Kevin explained the reasoning for the sponsorship for the channel, videos across YouTube had been suffering from a lack of ad revenue due to what YouTube deemed too inappropriate content, which hit SMG4 hard due to most of the channel's content. Despite that, they refused to change their content knowing their fans would appreciate the inappropriate content. They know other YouTubers had resort to means such as Twitch and Pateron but they decided not to choose that method yet. This was when YouTube offered them another method of revenue, the sponsorship program, which one could take part in for 5 USD/month. Luke added that it was optional if one could not afford as they could just keep on watching their videos, which was already a great help to them.
Luke and Kevin then explained what were the benefits of being a sponsor of the SMG4 channel, which included the badge Mario showcased earlier in the comments section and live streams, having their names appear in the end credits of all future SMG4 videos, which they showed an example of how that would be by using some names, access to a Sponsor community tab on YouTube, where Luke and Kevin would post exclusive content and easily seeing how the video fared, a sneak peek at upcoming SMG4 videos whether through a behind the scenes, a clip from the video, or a screenshot from the video, access to exclusive SMG4 posters, and during live streams, access to sponsor-exclusive live chat emojis.
Both Luke and Kevin then went on to explain how one would become an SMG4 sponsor which one could easily do by heading to the SMG4 home page and clicking the Sponsor button. However, there was a one thing to note. It only worked on Android and Desktop due to the program being in beta as of the video being uploaded.
Luke and Kevin then reilterated that they were perfectly fine if the viewer could not support them this way as just watching the video was more than enough of a support.
