- Despite this, the model for the Box Club Leader is actually just Emperor Palpatine's Player Model from Star Wars.
- Interestingly, in SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS, the Box Club Leader said "Unlimited Power!" before diving into the God Box, which is a quote made by Palpatine in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith while shocking Mace Windu to death.
- Interestingly, the logo of the Box Club features an "o" in the center. It was widely theorized that they worshiped Zero. However, in SMG4: Mario and The God Box, it is shown that the God Box is what the god they worship is called. He believes that the God Box will grant unlimited power, while SMG1 & SMG2 believe it to be dangerous. In the end, the God Box did grant him immense power, but his body could not handle the power and he died.
- This is the second character to have Mario enemies in their group in their own uniforms to specify them out, the first being Francis and the Anime Cartel. However unlike Francis, the Box Club Leader ultimately achieved his goal, which ironically killed him.
- He also is the second character to be introduced as a neutral-friendly character to the SMG4 Gang only to betray them later on for his own goals.
- Box Club Leader's death seems to be based on Kai's death from the 2016 animated film Kung Fu Panda 3 after he exploded in the same way (Leader thanks to the power of the box god and Kai thanks to Po's chi)
- He is the eighth character whose death was taken seriously, after Clone Mario, Desti, Francis, Greg The Alien, Spudnick, Auri Bori and Axol. Despite this, his death was quickly and coldly dismissed by Niles.
