The Cherry Clone Luigi is Luigi's clone from A day in the life of... E.GADD, created through a Double Cherry power-up. However, he unexpectedly dies not long after his creation.
Another clone of Luigi (also called Clone Luigi, or Fake Luigi) appears in the non-canon video Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 11 ft. Meggy, acting as a surprise antagonist. The clone that appears in that video does not seem to be have been created by Luigi eating a Double Cherry. He’s presumably either a biological clone created through science, or simply an impersonator.
History[]
The AwesomeMario[]
In A day in the life of... E.GADD, Clone Luigi was accidentally created when Luigi ate a stray Double Cheery. Freaked out at his clone's presence, Luigi went to Professor E. Gadd's lab to ask the professor what he should do. However, rather than help out, E. Gadd just grabbed a shotgun and shot Clone Luigi to death, much to Luigi's dismay.
Mario Does Things[]
In Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 11 ft. Meggy, after Mario and Meggy react poorly to a meme showing 2 Luigis from Super Mario Galaxy, Luigi suddenly appeared and greeted Mario, briefly making Meggy panic, thinking he was a fake. After she calmed down though, another Luigi appeared, and the two green plumbers, alongside Mario and Meggy, proceeded to scream in panic and confusion over who was the original. Meggy attempted to pull a trick by saying “Fake Luigi says what?”. One of the Luigi’s responded, and Meggy proceeded to shoot him with her Ink Blaster, sending him flying and knocking him unconscious. After the other Luigi left alongside Mario and Meggy for a "walk and talk", the screen suddenly displayed the message “Luigi was not the impostor. One impostor remains”, giving the terrible implication that the Luigi shot was actually the real one. The screen then darkens and the camera zooms in on the Fake Luigi as he gives the viewer a menacing smile.
Trivia[]
- Another Double Cherry clone of one of the Mario Bros., Clone Mario, was created the same way and also died on his debut episode, but the death was more tragic.
- Unlike Clone Mario, Luigi was able to tell which one of them was the clone because it kept following him around. Also, the clone was never shown to speak.
