The Crowd (or The Audience) are used as background filler characters for large crowds of people, therefore having no significant roles.

They first appeared in the SMG4 series in Mario Kart 64 Bloopers: An Adventurous Drive, where they are shown to hate Mario and prefer Luigi to Mario due to the fact that Mario's tactics are hacks, particularly shown in the video. At the end of the video Mario does spins all over the crowd with his kart and says he'll do that to them if they dislike the video.
