Cyn is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside JCJenson) of Murder Drones. She was one of the maid drones in Elliot Manor before becoming a Zombie Drone and the physical embodiment of the Absolute Solver.

She was foreshadowed several times throughout the series before finally being revealed in Home, as one of the Worker Drone servants working at Elliot Manor before the collapse of Copper 9. She was separated from the other Workers, such as J, V and N due to her very atypical behavior presumably as a "Zombie Drone", a very rare repercussion of when a Worker Drone isn't properly disposed of, resulting in her being the first victim of a mysterious artificial intelligence known as the Absolute Solver.

Quick Answers

What is the significance of Cyn's atypical behavior in Murder Drones? toggle section
In Murder Drones, Cyn's unusual behavior is a result of her unique history. She was a decommissioned Worker Drone who self-rebooted due to improper disposal, becoming a 'zombie drone.' Previously a maid at Elliot Manor, her true identity was later revealed. After witnessing V's murderous actions, she let it inhabit her and her objective shifted to exploring the exoplanet's depths. Her ultimate aim is the extermination of all humans.

Biography[]

Prior to the events of the series, Cyn was a Worker Drone that was marked for decommission, but was improperly disposed of. This failure of her disposers to uphold proper disassembly procedures lead to her suddenly self-rebooting at the bottom of a junkyard filled with decommissioned Worker Drones, making her a "zombie drone." It can be presumed that she eventually escapes the corpse pile and was adopted by Tessa to work at the Elliot Manor.

During her time at the manor, Cyn would become disliked by people, including Louisa, J, and Tessa herself, who all found her to be creepy, likely because of her broken state. Cyn however, would befriend N and begin to view him as her older brother.

It is currently unknown how the events of Home actually transpired, so some of this is guessing.

Presumably, Cyn wanted to attend a gala with her brother, N, so they tried to ask Tessa. Before they could though, Tessa's mom, Louisa appeared and scolded her daughter, and ordered her to dispose of the inoperable drones, including V.

Cyn then told Louisa that she was wrong and that the drones were not broken. Just as Louisa was about harm Cyn, N intervened, taking the blame by saying he told Cyn to say those things, resulting in him being chained up outside and pecked by crows.

Cyn, Tessa, and J would also be chained up in Tessa's room, where Tessa angrily threatened Cyn if N died.

Physical Appearance[]

Cyn presents herself as the smallest worker drone in Elliot Manor. She wears a black maid dress with a white apron and a white inner dress with a big bow-tie button holding it onto the dress along with two buttons below it on the inner dress. She has silver hair with two straight down twin tails, each having a hair-band on the low end of them, along with a big black bow on the back of her head and a maid crown looking like J's.

In truth, Cyn's adorable maid form was nothing more than a holographic projection. Her original real form, rarely exposed, was a massive mechanical centipede of claws and large camera-like eyes, nearly identical to the Eldritch J monstrosity.

In "Mass Destruction," it is revealed that the Solver killed Tessa and later grafted her corpse onto Cyn's body, fusing them together. Her appearance resembles a rotting human-child corpse grafted with a Worker Drone. The hybrid form of Cyn wears Tessa's black heels and a black dress, though the dress's been tattered. She has Tessa's black hair and bow on her head. Her eye sockets are dark - showing signs they were ripped open - and her eyes are X-shapes glowing a neon yellow-orange color. She has numerous jagged sharp teeth with a dark gray tongue. A ripped part of her corpse reveals the drone identification number on her chest to be 1001. In this form, she still keeps her yellow "MARKED FOR DISASSEMBLY" armband wrapped around Tessa's left shoulder. Tessa's human hands also protrude above Cyn's drone hands which hang freely from her wrists, with Tessa's human hands draped on top. She also has fleshy-like large tendrils poking out on her back; three intestine-like tentacles protrude out of the hybrid form's back in a similar arrangement to the Absolute Solver Translate symbol, which she uses to stand and walk around on. The hybrid is capable to sprouting wings as well as growing the camera-eye limbs of the Solver's eldritch form.

Personality[]

Cyn comes off with a very cryptic and chilling personality that unnerves those around her, both humans and robots alike. She seems to talk in a strange manner and shows many bizarre quirks of how she interacts with others and with her environment, such as when she is describing her current actions through words continuously. Her gait is awkward, stilted, and off-balance.

She also refers to herself as N's younger sister.

When around her "big brother" N and her mistress Tessa, Cyn tries to present a childish and happy facade. Otherwise Cyn is more willing to show her true colors: angry, spiteful, and violent, seeking retribution on the rest of the Elliot family for the abuses heaped upon her and her kind. If really provoked, Cyn will also stop speaking her actions out loud, such as when she talked back to Louisa.

However in her Hybrid Form, she is more silly and "Acts" more innocent but acts is the key word there, Cyn actually has a more uncanny, aggressive, villainous and creepy personality and tone and tries to kill Uzi and N by eating N's Core and defeating Uzi.

Like J, Cyn was abused by James and Louisa. Even if J hates her, Cyn still sees J as her older sister.

Little is known of her before her disposal, as she has no control over herself due to the Solver possessing her.

Trivia[]

  • Cyn's name means "before" in Welsh, and is also likely the shorted version of the name "Cynthia"
    • Cyn's name is also pronounced Sin which is obvious
  • Cyn has controlled Uzi ("Cabin Fever") and V ("Home").
  • Cyn was mentioned in the Pilot. After J slaps N and his memories are shown, an inscription reads: "YOU'RE DEAD" - where in the corner we can see the name "Cyn". It's possible some piece of the original Worker is still alive, as "Cyn" prevented the string Absolute Solver from claiming N. Cyn is an administrator in Disassembly Drones and some Worker Drones which infected via Absolute Solver.
    • In the episode "Home" When N and V are regaining consciousness, it is seen on their visors that they had an admin override, getting rid of Cyn as their admin and replacing it with Uzi, but still under the username of DarkXWolf17.
  • Cyn is currently the only Zombie-Drone. (V and Uzi were Zombie-Drones, but only because of Cyn.)
  • When Cyn's original hardware was in the junkyard, it receives manipulative messages from the Absolute Solver, saying things like "I will not discard you".
  • Cyn may not be her real name, as her Disassembled band seen at the beginning of Home was scratched off.
  • In a concept art, Cyn was originally going to have a Disassembly Drone tail.
  • Cyn has a lot of resemblances to GLaDOS, the main antagonist from the Portal franchise.
