Eggdog is a computer-generated egg-shaped dog. It became a meme on 2019, by a Instagram video created by @groomer_andrea, grooming Eggdog, which it's real name is PomPom.
Purpose
Eggdog is a simple easter egg put into each episode by one of the editors, James. He is the same editor that put in the Hideo Kojima cameos in the anime arc.
