Heavy Squid is a minor character in the SMG4 series.
He is supposed to be an Inkling but physically is the Heavy with the head of Squidward Tentacles. He first appeared in SMG4: If Mario Was In... Splatoon, competing with Meggy in the turf war before he was injured. He made a subsequent cameo in The Mario Channel: MARIO'S CHALLENGE.
After a brief pictured cameo in SMG4: The Inkling Disappearances, Heavy Squid returned in The SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special as a stand-in for Meggy as she was on vacation in Port Aurora. It is revealed in SMG4: Mario and the VILLAGE that he's still Meggy's stand-in, but Mario can't stand him for much longer.

- A team of Heavy Squids were originally intended to participate in the final Splatfest in SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny.
- Mario noticed Heavy Squid being a member in the Splat Squad, whom Mario mocked for "not even looking like a squid". This would implied the character Squidward Tentacles is actually an octopus. Whom Stephen Hillenberg finds animating him with fewer tentacles easier.
