Melony is a major character in the SMG4 series.
Melony was a minor character in Season 9, a supporting character in Season 10, one of the secondary antagonists of The YouTube Arc, the tertagonist of Season 11 and the Genesis Arc, a major character in The SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special, one of the three main protagonists of Season 12 alongside SMG4 and Saiko Bichitaru, the main protagonist of the Revelations Arc and a minor character in The Lawsuit Arc.
During The YouTube Arc, she joined the Anti-Cast as Meggy Spletzer's doppelganger. Melony and the rest of the Anti-Cast was motivated to turn against SMG3 by SMG4's Gang, and after her former leader's banishment to the Internet Graveyard, she officially joined the gang before eventually being transformed into a human character by the Fierce Deity Mask, granting her sentience and unknowingly, the powers of a god.
She would later on use her Fierce Deity powers for the first time and accepting Axol as her love interest, and after the events SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2021, she becomes a manga artist in concluding her late lover's manga to honor him and has vowed to stay strong.
Later in SMG4: To Become a God, Melony was able to use her ability to the fullest by turning into a Fierce Deity version of herself. While at first, she couldn't control herself in this form, but she has yet to master it and strong emotions risk the Fierce Deity taking over. But after some training and the events of the SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS, Melony is finally able to fully control her Fierce Deity powers and overcoming her demons, now with a stronger resolve to live out her life to the fullest.
Despite this new resolve, she gradually became reduced to recurring appearances in Season 13, Season 14 and possibly onwards, geting less and less appearances as time went on as she becomes more of a minor character. This is due to Meggy and SMG3 once again taking her place as the focus of the show.
History[]
In SMG4: Mario Babies, it was shown that Melony was born in a farm somewhere in the Mushroom Kingdom. At some point, she meet the then-President Barack Obama, and was chosen by NASA to go to space, and accompanying Hideo Kojima at game shows.
After her life in America, she later moved to the Mushroom Kingdom by presumably being imported by a fruit company there, and was purchased by Mario on Christmas 2019, who gave her distinguishable features (Meggy's Inkling goggles, beanie, and headphones) as a stand-in for Meggy. She was then hired by SMG3 for his Anti-Cast acting as Meggy Spletzer's doppelganger. She was sent by SMG3 to Meggy's debut in SMG4: If Mario Was In... Splatoon to prevent Mario from being friends with Meggy by knocking him out while he was watching the announcement for the Splatfest.
After SMG3's banishment in WOTFI 2020, the Anti-Cast was dissolved, and Melony now spent her time with the SMG4 gang and later also became human in SMG4: Mario's Mask Of Madness by the Fierce Deity Mask.
She would later on use her Fierce Deity powers for the first time and accepting Axol as her love interest, and after the events WOTFI 2021, involving sacrificing Axol, she becomes a manga artist in finishing Axol's Two Piece manga to honor his memory and has vowed to stay strong.
Melony would later regrettably killing him at his request to prevent "SMG0" from overriding their universe with his new one. This caused Melony to develop intense fear of losing the rest of her friends which caused her to attend Omnia Academy with Meggy to learn how to access the full power of the Fierce Deity at will.
She met a student there named Niles who offered to train her due to her classes failing to reach her expectations in teaching her, she agreed and learned how to access her powers at will. However, after later learning the truth about Niles, she became his puppet to seek out the God Box and was psychologically tortured by Niles inside of her own mindscape with hallucinations of her friends suffering and Eldritch Ax0l abusing her and taunting her over Axol.
Giving herself hope, Melony overcame Niles' tricks and came across a computer hosting a game called Mage, throughout the game, SMG0 and Niles' backstory are explained.
After she freed herself from Niles' control, she defeated Eldritch Zero for good, and succeeding in escaping with her friends during the destruction of the God Box. Melony later graduated from Omnia Academy, now having full control over her powers and with a different outlook on life.

SMG4 Christmas 2019: Mario Alone[]
After missing his bus, a sad Mario tries to "replicate" his friends, one of Mario's friends that Mario "replicated" was Meggy who was "replicated" with a watermelon with Meggy's separate which led (several episodes later) to the original Melony's design.
In that episode, "Melony" appears twice: Playing soccer with Mario and later shooting ink to make Waluigi fall to the ground.
The YouTube Arc[]
S̶M̶G̶4̶: I Can't Believe It's Not SMG4![]
Melony is hired by Cromulus, who is SMG3 in disguise (even if she's didn't appear in a interview) with the rest of the Anti-Cast, Melony appears in the Snitch Production show playing the role of Meggy, Melony appears in some parts of the show (loosely reenacting SMG4: If Mario Was In... Splatoon 2, and SMG4: Final Hours) while being carried by other people.
Later in the episode, she faces Meggy (whom finds this insulting) while all the other members of the cast and the Anti-Cast fought.
Mario then was able to stop the bickering between SMG4 and SMG3, leading to a truce between two factions, Meggy briefly comments on her headgear before they went their separate ways.

SMG4: Deleted[]
SMG3 and his gang developed a plan to erase their SMG4 counterparts by preventing them from ever meeting Mario.
Melony prevented Mario from forming a relationship with Meggy by falling on his head by her arrival from the sky and knocking him out. Meggy, panicked, kicks Melony away, before Mario coming conscious again. Desperate, Meggy tries to encourage Mario to find her past self to enter Splatfest. However, Mario is uninterested and then leaves. Meggy attempts to chase after him, only ceasing to exist. Ending up in the Internet Graveyard.
SMG4: A Totally Normal S̷͍͖͉̙͚͎̑̃̿͑̆̇̚͠M̸͇͇̦̮̌̿Ğ̴̫̗̖͎͔̳4̶̞͇̰̎̀́̚ Episode[]
With SMG3 and his gang succeeding altering their counterpart's histories, SMG3's gang was tasked by SMG3 to act like their SMG4 counterparts in a new video, with a rather generic storyline.
SMG3 started to get upset as he realized that none of his supporting cast members were following his script. Frustrated, he lashed out his anger at them for their bad performance, with the exception of Melony, telling her she's doing great.
SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2020[]
Shortly after the return of SMG4's gang confronting SMG3 and the Anti-Cast, SMG3 presses the "factory reset" button on the YouTube Remote, causing its spirit demanding both groups to participate in challenges to determine if wither SMG4 or SMG3 is worthy of the channel.
During the challenges, Tari attempts to teach Meggy to cook by flipping a pancake and heating some cup noodles. Unfortunately, Meggy's cooking ends in disaster for both of those tries. Later, when Meggy seeks Melony to help cooking, she was able to roast a chicken even when all Melony did was fall in the direction of the flamethrower that Meggy used.
Axol shows Luigi and Melony his TV show "Two Piece", where Watermelon-kun (voiced by Jordan Sweeto) finally confesses to Apple-chan (voiced by WolfyChu). Luigi, however, has his Super Nut activated due to the extreme romance shown in the show, screamed.
Melony then joins the rap battle against SMG3 after he convinces the Anti-Cast the truth, siding with SMG4 in the process. After his defeat and banishment, the SMG4 gang along with former Anti-Cast begins celebrating their newfound friendship.
SMG4: Mario's Mask Of Madness[]
After Mario found a cursed Mario mask from Happy Mask Salesman's mask collection, it eventually took possession on Luigi, and later controlling Axol, the rest tried to stop him, but failed as Axol threw curse-masks at them, the Fierce Deity's Mask was thrown over and landed directly onto Melony, whom of which the mask merged with and caused Melony transform into her new human form. As Melony walked to a bush to sleep, the cursed Axol walked up to her, causing him to be slapped and the mask removed. Eventually, the Mario Mask later cursed Meggy, Mario woke and made Melony use her hacking skills to call for an Uber Eats delivery of a plate of spaghetti, to use as bait for Meggy, and succeed apprehending her and removed the Mario Mask. Happy Mask Salesman wasn’t able to reclaim the mask from Melony when he tried taking the mask from her while she was sleeping.

At the beginning of the episode, Melony was still worried on what is happening to Axol. But she was then still determined to save Axol from Niles with the help from SMG4's Gang and the Meme Guardians they were able to use their powers to power up Mario and she could enter Niles' Mindscape.
She is brought into Niles' mindscape and finds Axol chained up. Despite her best attempts, she desperately tries to break him free, only to fail. Axol tells Melony to mercy kill him to stop Niles. When she hesitates to kill him, Axol gives her piece of of his fanart manga that also serves as his confession, which She accepts, Melony reluctantly slashes him, after kissing him goodbye. With Axol being killed, SMG0 and Niles returns to their true forms. SMG0 was sent back to their Unfinished Universe inside the God Box, while Niles latches on Melony to plot his revenge.
A few days after Axol’s death, she becomes a manga artist in finishing Axol's Two Piece manga to honor his memory and has vowed to stay strong. Her friends encourage her and give their suggestions on their ideas for the conclusion of Two Piece.

She then saw the spirit of Axol, who was angry at her destroys him, causing her to traumatize for her actions, until Axol's spirit mutated into Eldritch Ax0l by Niles' essence.

She found a 1980s home computer and turned it on, causing it to load the 1982 game called Mage, which confused her as she noticed two stick figures playing on it: one red and the other blue. She soon learned that the blue stick figure was the real SMG0 and the red stick figure was his avatar, Fred. After their universe became corrupted, the God Box created Niles as a negative version of SMG0 to help him save his world but instead destroyed it under the box's influence and possessed him against his will just like he had done with Axol to become the virus Eldritch SMG0.
Realizing that SMG0 wasn't the one responsible for Axol's death and that he too was a victim just like Axol, she dropped her bad blood with the innocent meme guardian and instead aimed all of her hatred at Niles for not only taking her lover from her but also for betraying his best friend and destroying SMG0's life for his own selfish goals in the process.
When SMG4 concluded that Niles wanted to merge with SMG0 again, Niles came in, and he tried to kill the Meme Guardians. Melony faces off against Niles wearing the Fierce Deity Mask in Centre of her own Mind and got it back, causing Niles to separate and Melony regaining control of her own body. Niles and SMG0 forcefully merges into Eldritch Zero was about to eat the trio, Melony showed up to save them with her Fierce Deity powers, and fought with Niles.
After witnessing Zero eat Melony, SMG4 becomes very depressed. When SMG1 and 2 announce that they'll have to destroy the God Box since they can't close it, SMG4 coldly repeats 1's sentence demanding them to destroy it all. Melony, who survived and is in Niles' stomach, woke up in limbo and found Axol's spirit. As his spirit praised her drawing skills, his spirit also told her that she could have a choice to stay in afterlife, but with the price of having her friends dying in the process. As Melony refused at first, she then realized that she had to let Axol's spirit go for the sake of saving her friends. When she woke up, she escaped out of Niles' mouth and fought him again.
When Melony is cornered by anti-memes, the SMGs resolve to sacrifice SMG3's majordomo, Terrence to power up Mario instead of risking death using the anti-memes. As Melony was beating up Niles, SMG0 broke free from Eldritch Zero's bounds.
A few days later, Melony graduates from Omnia Academy ahead of Meggy with full control of her Fierce Deity powers, along with a stronger resolve to live her life to the fullest before eventually she hopes to reunite with Axol in the afterlife one day.
Season 13[]
Following the events of the Revelations Arc, her appearances took a nosedive and her character development rarely ever made relevant afterwards, due to her being made more of a side character and fans questioning why she no longer uses her powers such as in The Lawsuit Arc or during the SMG4 Movie: Western Spaghetti, with the writers even making a joke of her powers no longer being relevant to the plot as when Bob attempted to call her for help during the SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT, with her only making a short unspeaking cameo.

Originally, Melony was simply a watermelon with the Studio Headphones, Pilot Goggles and the Short Beanie that Meggy wears on top of her head. In its debut appearance, the beanie is orange, but as of the YouTube Arc, it is the same color as Meggy's.

Starting from SMG4: Mario Gets Into NFTs, the episode introduces a new, updated melon form, this time swapping out the original headphones, goggles and beanie with the top of her hair in it's place. This was likely down to fit Melony's new human appearance.

After the Fierce Deity Mask landed on her, Melony has turned into an anime girl: she wears a black and red watermelon-themed hoodie dress with a thin green zig zag line in the middle and a watermelon on the bottom left, black socks and has red eyes, shoulder-length green hair with two thick strands sticking up in the back along with watermelon hair clips on the bangs, and black marks on her cheeks that resemble both watermelon seeds and the red stripes seen on Fierce Deity Link's face. She is also much taller, being around Tari and Belle's height. Also, similar to Saiko and Belle, she also has a more buxom figure compared to Peach, Meggy, or Tari, with a particularly large bust and wide hips, as a testament to her innocent personality.
Her college clothes consist of a black and burgundy-striped t-shirt with a similar hoodie and a watermelon design on the left chest, matching calf length black and burgundy striped socks, lime green short overalls with one fastened strap, and black Velcro strap trainers.
Also on Hobo Bros, Luke and Kevin explained that Human Melony was supposed to be in SMG4: War of the Simps in the Waifu Maker Room, where Melony was to fall in the Cauldron that made the Melony we all know today, but it was too late because the model was still in the works. However, if Melony had been made this way, she would not have the powers she currently has.
Fierce Deity Form[]

In SMG4: To Become A God, when trying to unleash her true power, Melony's eyes turn white and her hair clips are antique. The sleeves of her hoodie are turquoise, the torso is steeled like the armor, she wears black tights and brown shoes. However, when nearly entering this form, her resembles the Fierce Deity Mask; her eyes turn completely white (causing her to possess no visible pupils or sclera in the process) and her watermelon-like cheeks become the red stripes seen on the mask that she wear. After some training and help from Niles, Melony is finally able to control her Fierce Deity possessed state, causing her eyes to instead become black with large white pupils. She also retains her college clothes.
Basically, Melony receives face paint with every transformation and she also wears a thin shirt with stand-up collar and tights. In addition, Melony's eyes are white and her sclera (the white of the eyes) is black.

Prior to becoming human, Melony was depicted as being rather vague and mysterious, due to being an motionless and inert watermelon. However, she could still show emotions to a degree, such as blushing when watching Two Piece with Luigi, or shock after she and the Anti-Cast witnessed Frankie's deletion. She is also vastly intelligent, as she bears a massive talent for hacking, which has helped a lot in the past. During her first scene in SMG4: Mario's Mask Of Madness, Axol was assuring her that she could be best girl, implying that Melony dreams to be as popular as some of the female members of SMG4's Gang.
In her human form, Melony develops new characteristics; she is now childish and lazy as she is commonly shown sleeping most of the time, referencing her normal and inactive nature from her past life. She has a bad habit on sleeping on anything that she deems "comfortable", including bushes, other watermelons, and sometimes people. Like her melon form, she is also obedient, responding to any orders that are needed from others.
However, Melony can also be defiant to those who attempt to use force on her; when the Happy Mask Salesman attempts to make her give the Fierce Deity Mask back to him, she responds by slapping his hand away while saying "No" to him multiple times. In addition, her massive habit of hacking still remains, as seen when she quickly calls an Uber Eats to help Mario create a massive plate of Spaghetti using the Beeg SMG4 mask to lure a Mario Mask-possessed Meggy.
In SMG4: The Melony Felony, she gets mad at Axol for killing off her favourite character in Axol's "Two Piece", so she briefly stopped being his friend and decided that Bob would be her best friend instead. Unsurprisingly, she ends up picking a few bad habits from her new friend, such as listening to explicit music and learning swear words, until Axol later apologizes for what he did. In the same episode, she tries to flirt with an inanimate watermelon.
As shown in SMG4: Mario has a BBQ, but he's not invited, she gets angry whenever a single fruit is threatened, going as far as chopping Tari's mechanical arm off, which prompted Meggy to engage with her, she is okay with artificial fruit. In the same episode, she kicked Fishy Boopkins into the fountain after Melony found out that he was going to chop the watermelon. This may be because of the fact that she is a literal melon.
In SMG4: Into the Dark Web, she can get easily traumatized and freeze up for a period of time when she's scared. However, she can snap out of that frozen state if she sees something that she deems wholesome, for example Axol's Lil' Chonk form.
She has shown to deeply care for Axol in the Genesis Arc. When the time came and she was forced to kill Axol, she accepted being his girlfriend to which then they shared their first and only kiss before Axol allowing himself to be sacrificed to save the universe from SMG0 after Axol thanked her, leaving Melony extremely depressed, having lost her boyfriend and innocence. After Axol's death, Melony studied to become a manga artist and finish Axol's Two Piece series in his memory, knowing that Axol would want everyone to continue living their lives to their fullest.
In addition, Melony is shown to be very protective of Axol, showing mercy to him even though he was still possessed, and can be shown in the 10-Year Anniversary protecting him, however this is before she was aware of Axol having a crush on her. Melony also gets angry after the robotic bed squashed Axol, infuriating her. At the end of Genesis Arc, Melony was forced to sacrifice Axol to remove an otherworldly monstrosity from the SMG4 Simulation, which contributed to her depression in the process.
She didn't really talk much until SMG4: The Final Piece. Beforehand, she normally communicated using "voice grunting," occasionally including one or two lines of subtitles.
During her first Fierce Deity metamorphosis, she was merciless and brutal, that was because she still couldn't process the death of Axol. She had an urge to destroy everything that has a "0" or the word "Zero".
Psychological Development[]
At the beginning of her becoming human, Melony was still extremely lazy, hardly doing anything and rarely saying anything correctly. But over time she became more active and talkative. In addition, the powers of the mask that she wore awoke in her. In the beginning, she had a mental age of approximately five but by the end of the SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS, she has shown maturity of being in her early twenties.
Powers[]
Despite her inherent and extreme laziness, not to mention childish demeanor, Melony is one of the most powerful characters in the SMG4 series and is the most powerful female character due to posessing the powers of the Fierce Deity through his mask. Due to her godly power, she is the only character who can rival Niles in his virus forms possessing Axol (Eldritch Ax0l) and SMG0 (Eldritch SMG0). However, she still seems to be weaker than Niles in his eldritch forms as even she couldn't kill Niles while the God Box was being destroyed, with him still having enough power depsite his weakened state to drag her down to her death and he undoubtably would've succeeded in doing so if it hadn't been for SMG0 throwing himself in the way and forcing Niles to stand down long enough for her to escape.
- Hacking Skills: According to SMG3 in SMG4: Mario VS Youtube, Melony has expert hacking skills. Melony is shown on-screen hacking into YouTube's database, but the camera cuts to her simply sitting on a chair due to being a fruit. After becoming human, she is capable of hacking multiple computers at once as she is able to succesfully operate a VPN through the Dark Web.
- Summoning: As seen in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2020, Melony appears to have the ability of summoning helpful weapons or tools when no one is looking, though it also serves as a way to express itself. It also seems to have formidable battle skills; when everyone (except SMG4, Mario, JubJub and Whimpu) fought against SMG3's Oof Buttons, the fourth shot showed that Melony killed one with a sword single-handedly off-screen.
- Anaerobic Functioning: As seen in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2021, Melony can actually breath in space without any sense of oxygen-requirement, as well as talk and eat normally.
- Gladiator Skills: In SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special, Melony shows that she is a skilled and precise gladiator, able to attack multiple Mario Recolor zombies at once while leaving Axol unharmed.
- Transformation: She can transform into a normal watermelon and back to human form at will. It's only use is for disguise/sulking, and the only drawback is that a part of her hair is still visible and can give away her position.
- Sleeping: In SMG4: The Bed, it reveals that she can run out of power and requires sleep to recharge, which explains why she sleeps near constantly due to her deity powers burning through energy at a very quick pace.
- Fierce Deity Form: After intensive training, she managed to tap into the Fierce Deity's true power and causes her to change into a form similar to Fierce Deity Link, amplifying her power to an entirely new level. The drawback is that this form requires far more concentration to hold and she can lose consciousness if unfocused or emotionally unstable. After months of extensive training, she has learned to maintain the form naturally and enter it at will. By the events of the SMG4 Movie: Revelations, Melony has mastered her full power and has complete control of the Fierce Deity. Her powers in her Fierce Deity Form include:

- Underage Drinking (almost): Melony almost drank the alcohol that Bob told her to try out, but Axol managed to prevent that from happening at the last second by throwing a Koopa Troopa at the bottle, breaking it. Although she might actually be an adult based on her backstory.
- Demonic Rituals: She committed this crime on two separate occasions, first in SMG4: The Bed, while Axol builds the base of Melony's bed, Melony uses some of the wood boards to make a Pentagram and summons Death (Who she says hello to). She then does this again in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2021 competing against Mario on making the strongest password.
- Murder (unwillingly): In SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2021, to kill Zero, she had to unwillingly stab Axol with her Deity Sword, killing him and splitting Eldritch Ax0l back into Niles and SMG0. Although, Axol was willing as he told Melony to sacrifice his life to destroy "SMG0" (Niles).
- Rampage (unwillingly): In her Fierce Deity form, she blindly destroyed a Coca-Cola bottling plant and a tank without knowing what she was doing or who she was hurting in the process.
- Attacking Authority Figures: Done unintentionally when she went on an uncontrollable rampage and later intentionally when she knocked back Swag with her powers, though this was somewhat justified due to Swag attempting to attack her friends with a katana.

- In SMG4: The Watermelon Man, Melony's birthday is revealed to be August 19th, 2002; which makes her a little over a month younger than her counterpart Meggy, whose birthday is July 16th, 2002.
- Despite originating as part of the Anti-Cast, Melony became the eighth member to be added to the modern version of SMG4's Gang, following Fishy Boopkins, Bob Bobowski, Meggy Spletzer, Shroomy, Saiko Bichitaru, Tari, and Axol (despite now being deceased).
- She is also the fourth female member to be added to the gang, following Meggy, Saiko, and Tari.
- Her good behaviour is based on the kindness, as she estabilishes a connection with Jupiter.

During near the start of the video, Vanna mistakenly thought SMG4 deleted the Melony gif on purpose to troll her (but the real reason was because it was actually deleted during the SMG4 Twitter & Discord Hacking Incident). Throughout the videos, she watched some of the Melony clips out of context while seemed very confused, implying she possibly new to the series (calling Axol as a “talking Toothless”) or hasn’t watched it in a long time.
- On January 27th 2023, a day later, SMG4 replied with a message from Melony.
- On February 3rd, 2023, Vanna replied to the message through a video, the letter/message she got from the reply was narrated by Melony’s voice actor herself, Wolfychu. - During the WOTFI 2023 Mission Plan Livestream, Melony was mentioned during the Mission 2 Voting Poll. SMG3 wanted to see if he and SMG4 had any contact with her and see if she can help them, then SMG4 went to check with her, but she couldn't because she was playing Uno with her pet axolotl, with SMG3 being annoyed and saying sarcastically why he would want to interrupt such important activities. (This happened with nearly an hour and 23 minutes left in the voting for Mission 2.)
- When Melony was transformed into an anime-like human girl, Mario complains that she is another "anime thot", a reference to how there are already four other original characters that are all anime-esque females.
- As a human, Melony serves as a foil to Meggy in many ways, just like Toad. Meggy is energetic and is extremely active, while Melony is lazy and into technology. While Meggy is virtually allergic to anime, Melony outright enjoys any form of anime (even if it's low quality like Two Piece by Axol).
- Their transformations also oppose each other as well. While Meggy's transformation was caused by a traumatic event, took around a year to get used to, and was treated as a big moment story-wise, Melony's transformation was caused by the usual SMG4 humor, with Melony herself not caring about the change at all and did nothing until the story comes to her and was treated casually story-wise. Also, it took Meggy around a year to fully heal after Desti's death, while it seems that Melony was able to bounce back after Axol died in a few days.

- According to the Hobo Bros video "Reacting To Melony Memes", Melony's human form was supposed to make its debut in SMG4: War of the Simps by being one of the girls created by the waifu making machine.
