The SMG4/GLITCH Wiki
Not to be confused with Glitch Productions.

GLITCH is an Australian YouTube channel owned by Glitch Productions. It was formally launched on August 28, 2020, and serves alongside the main SMG4 channel as the second channel that shows content. Unlike the first channel, GLITCH would primarily show original programming by the company itself.

History[]

2020[]

The channel was announced in a trailer uploaded on Glitch Productions' social media accounts, where it will be home to the company's animated content, starting with Ultra Jump Mania and the second season of Meta Runner, the latter of which was brought from the SMG4 channel. It would later premiere the upcoming series Sunset Paradise a spinoff series starring Meggy Spletzer.

The channel hit 100,000 subscribers hours after it was launched.

2021[]

On February 27, SMG4 announced two new shows, including the Meggy spin-off, to be released. At the same time, the channel amassed 300,000 subscribers. Said spinoff was revealed to be named Sunset Paradise, which temporarily puts Meggy on a hiatus for the SMG4 series until the airing is finished.

The channel hit 500,000 subscribers on October 28, on the eve of the premiere of Murder Drones.[1]

2022[]

A special announcement is teased to be made on February 18. [2] It turns out to be the rest of Murder Drones Season 1. On May 3, another special announcement was teased to be made on May 6.[3] This one was revealed to be Season 3 of Meta Runner, which was stated to be the final season and would be released in the summer. To commemorate the finale, a concert was hosted by the series composer, and a prequal comic was released, a first for the company.

After much anticipation, the second episode of Murder Drones was released. Unlike past Glitch shows, however, the episodes were not released weekly, instead being spaced out to ensure the best possible quality. Before the year was over, the channel managed to reach one million subscribers.

2023[]

As promised the previous year, a special video commemorating the channel reaching one million subscribers will be released. This includes a teaser for the next Glitch show, made in collaboration with Youtuber Gooseworx. The video revealed that the third episode of Murder Drones would be released on February 17th, as well as officially announcing their next show, The Amazing Digital Circus.

On November 9th (10th PST), 2023, an inaugural live podcast panel event dubbed GLITCH-X 2023 premiered hosted by them, guest starring various indie animation creators, namely Liam Vickers (Creator of Murder Drones), Vivienne Medrano/Vivziepop (Creator of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss), Cooper Goodwin/Gooseworx (Creator of The Amazing Digital Circus), Tracy Butler (Creator of Lackadaisy), and David Axel Casanova/Sr Pelo (Creator of Spooky Month), and Steven Carver/Saberspark (would would host the third segment of the panel, in addition to a handful of voice actors, namely Michael Kovach (Voice of N and Jax and voice of Angel Dust in the Hazbin Hotel Pilot), Lizzie Freeman (First voice of Meggy Spletzer and voice of Pomni), Elsie Lovelock (Second voice of Meggy Spletzer, singing voice of Charlie in the Hazbin Hotel Pilot and voice of Uzi, Bo and Evelyn Claythorne), Alex Rochon (Voice of Caine), Edward Bosco (Current voice of Striker and Alastor in the Hazbin Hotel Pilot), and Belsheber Rusape (Voice of Freckle), where Luke and Kevin held live segments involving interviewing, drawpiling, and improv acting scenario prompts with the guests and discussing their thoughts and stance on the renaissance of independent animation and how they personally would like to welcome and offer sponsorship to any other aspiring creators to help kickstart and distribute their own projects, as well as announcing the development of their newest show, Nick Szopko's The Gaslight District.

Trivia[]

  • It has been shown that a few SMG4 characters are aware of the channel, but it's likely that Tari hasn't watched Meta Runner even though she found out that Meggy's adventures were being posted on the same channel as Meta Runner's second season.
