I've been helping edit SMG4 videos for nearly 3 years so lets talk about it is a video from MediExcalibur2012 and contains interesting information about the 3-year running job of editing for SMG4 (Luke Lerdwichagul) from MediExcalibur2012.

MediExcalibur2012, whose real name is Paul, introduces himself as an editor and skit writer for SMG4 and Glitch Productions.
You do what for SMG4?[]
Paul edits the SMG4 series (mainly Mario Does Things), and has come up with 35 different episode idea and one arc idea.

Paul has voiced many characters across Glitch's shows. For SMG4, he has voiced SMG1, Box Club Leader, Watchers, Mario, Batman, and Melony's father. He also voiced the homeless magician and a green duck in Sunset Paradise, as well as a voice chat guy and an audience member in Meta Runner.
SMG1's voice is just his regular speaking voice with a lower pitch. The Box Club Leader was inspired by Doofenshmirtz's voice, and he would repeat "Perry the Platypus" to get into the role. The Watchers' voices were his attempts at a British accent. While imitating Charles Martinet's Mario audition, Luke asked Paul to do one line as Mario in SMG4: Mario Waits For The Bus. His other voices are either his regular voice or various deep voices. He claims that he's good at screaming based on his roles.

Paul specializes in parodies. Among the media he has parodied on SMG4 include "Heavy Is Dead," One Punch Man, Teen Titans Go, Family Guy, Breaking Bad, the Wake Up meme, Super Mario Galaxy, Overwatch, and Persona 5.
The most replayed part of this video[]
The next point that Paul discusses is fan appeal; he often goes on Reddit and Discord to look at fan reactions and suggestions for improvement. Though the rest of Glitch does this as well (such as with the poll regarding the WOTFI 2022 redesigns), Paul has been the most vocal about it. Many of his scenes, mainly deleted scenes, are callbacks to previous videos. He has also made it a point to include the rest of the Guards N' R*****s cast whenever Swag and Chris are involved.
Paul has observed how often Meggy Spletzer gets criticized on social media, and upon looking into it, came to some conclusions: Mario and Meggy should be portrayed more as allies than rivals, and have each other's backs. Additionally, he saw that fans didn't like how Meggy appears as a "golden child" and Mario a "manchild." To test his theories on the matter, he adlibbed a scene in SMG4: The Cursed Tapes where Mario catches Meggy after she's flung. The scene was very well received, and he has continued to add more of these scenes to further show more positive interactions between the two. Some of these, however, were dialed back a bit in the final videos.

Paul has also included Easter eggs within his scenes, many of which have not been found. These include characters, actions, and other moments.

Paul pokes fun at the Mario x Meggy ship when he has Frankie ask for a scene with it.
Paul also implies he may start doing his own fan suggested animations on his channel, such as ideas based on fanart, What If scenarios, reactions from his characters, and parodies. To demonstrate, he creates a scene in GMOD where Frankie asks him to make a scene involving the Mario x Meggy ship. Paul wonders if this is even okay before Hal Monitor arrests Frankie for cringe.
Conclusion[]
Paul ends the video by thanking the fans themselves, namely those who record themselves reacting to SMG4 videos and make fanart, with many reactions and art pieces being shown. He especially gives shout-outs to the_cribbs_crib and SwordHeartStudios for their dedication and love for the show.
Afterwards, Paul threatens to make a sequel to SMG4: Boys vs Girls and kill off Bob Bobowski if fans don't support those he has shouted out, much to Bob's horror.

- During "The most replayed part of this video," Paul reveals many production notes (namely, deleted scenes or his own adlibs) regarding SMG4 episodes:
- Mario Plays: Five Nights At Freddy's is an homage to R64: Freddy's spaghettiria, the first SMG4 video that Paul watched. The Mario Plays even video ends in a similar way. Mario was initially gonna have custom textures and sharp teeth to scare Freddy, but this was removed for being too extreme and scary.
- SMG4: Stupid Mario Golf was gonna have a scene where Waluigi controls Master Hand against Matt, a reference to The Waluigi Arc. This was scrapped as it couldn't be finished in time.
- Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 9 ft. Bob is heavily music themed, referencing The Rapper Bob Arc. Bob even raps at the end.
- A deleted scene from SMG4: Mario Gets His PINGAS Stuck In Car Door has Kaizo get his own crotch stuck in a door, and repeat a gag from SMG4: Mario Gets His PINGAS Stuck In The Door.
- Mario catching Meggy in SMG4: The Cursed Tapes was adlibbed, and went over very well with fans.
- Because his adlib in The Cursed Tapes went over well, Paul would go on to include more positive Mario and Meggy moments.
- Mario bidding farewell to his friends in SMG4: SMG4 Gets Sued was in the script, but Meggy reluctantly letting him go was not.
- Meggy holds JubJub Boopkins at the end of SMG4: If Mario Was The Last Man On Earth is a callback to SMG4: Meggy's Part-Time Job, and she is actually mad at JubJub for charging at Mario, not at Mario himself.
- Because Meggy was already hugging Luigi in SMG4: Breaking Luigi when Mario was supposed to, Paul decided to make Mario hug the both of them at once.
- Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 11 ft. Meggy's Mario Kart skit was shortened in the final video; originally Mario was gonna catch Meggy again and hug her, praising her Mario Kart attempt. Meggy inviting Mario to Egypt with her was also adlibbed.
- For Mario Does Pranks, the "I'm Not Gay" skit was the first episode written, and was originally animated to have Mario put his arm around Meggy. This was toned down to him pointing finger guns at her.
- the_cribbs_crib's reaction to the Season 2 trailer of Meta Runner was shown to the Glitch staff by Kevin, and the staff themselves are fans of her reactions.
