Luigi Doesn't Need Mario is the forty-seventh episode of Season 14 of the SMG4 series, the six hundred and ninetieth within the SMG4 series, and the nine hundred and twelfth video overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.

Synopsis[]
Mario's sick and it's Luigi's turn to be #1 😎
Plot[]
Luigi is in the kitchen preparing the food for Memesgiving (a meme version of Thanksgiving) when he burns his body by accident and ruins his food. Mario, who was hanging around with the other SMG4 Gang members, excuses himself to check on Luigi. Luigi initially denies help from Mario, but Mario decides to help anyway, turning into a Gordon Ramsay version of himself and cooking up a delicious meal in seconds. After that, Mario serves the food to all of the SMG4 Crew, who are initially worried, but when Meggy decides to get a bite of Mario's food and actually loves it, the rest of the crew follow suit. Mario feels bad for Luigi after seeing how unhappy he is, so he decides to cheer him up by trying out his food. Unfortunately, the tainted food knocks Mario into a bad coma, and Dr. Heavy sadly announces to the Glitchy Gang that Mario will be stuck in bed for a while. Everyone (Except SMG3, who is disappointed.) is devastated—especially Luigi, who was the guiltiest of them all.
Luigi sadly trudges through the streets, when he suddenly notices Old Man Hobo having his "daily" heart attack in the middle of the road, where a truck (whose driver has the same issue) threatens to run him over. Despite being on his own, Luigi manages to rescue the old man without getting hit, with everyone branding him a hero. Soon, Luigi gradually learns to live and branch out on his own, even tossing aside his Vrigin/Chad chart of him and Mario. A while later, Luigi receives a call from Shigeru Miyamoto who, upon learning Mario is out sick and cannot attend the press release about the "Nintendo Alarmo", recruits Luigi to take his place.
Luigi is initially very enthusaistic indeed, but things start to go wrong; he can't match up to Mario in terms of being a good host, and is soon bombarded with controversial Nintendo questions and angry jeers from the uncontrollable crowd. Miyamoto orders Luigi to toughen up like Mario, but instead Luigi insults the reporters interrogating him, jeopardizing Nintendo's reputation and putting them all on the news. Miyamoto and (Doug) Bowser are furious with Luigi, and opt to put him down with a powerful gun as punishment for tarnishing the company. As Luigi flees in terror, he notices a notification from Mario which he neglected earlier, thanking him for the soup despite the food poisoning it gave him. Realizing he needs his brother more than ever, Luigi lets out a supersonic cry for help... which snaps Mario out of his coma and causes him to rush to Luigi's aid.
Mario easily takes down Miyamoto, but struggles against Bowser, who puts up a good fight. Bowser holds Mario at gunpoint, but Luigi distracts him with the Nintendo Alarmo long enough for the Mario Bros. to double-team their nemesis and leave him a mangled mess. As the brothers hug it out and leave, Luigi apologizes to Mario for putting him in a coma by mistake to begin with and reveals that he is secretly jealous of Mario's superiority. Mario promptly cheers him up by making him his number #1 bro—and jokingly states that he'll make him #1 at cooking to make sure something like this never happens again. As the brothers walk off laughing, we cut to Diddy Kong (whom Shroomy accused earlier of stealing golden bananas) being dragged off by the police to answer to his crimes as the episode ends.
