Synopsis[]
Mario & Luigi are on their way to the Mustache Convention, but there ends up being a traffic jam and now they're going coo-coo crazy!
Plot[]
In the middle of a highway, Stan Smith is riding his scooter while singing "Good Morning, USA," the theme song from American Dad. Suddenly, he is struck by an oncoming car, leaving him burning. The car is being driven by Mario and Luigi, who are both excited to attend the Moustache Convention. Mario is particularly enthusiastic, imagining all sorts of impressive moustaches at the event. He dreams of his own moustache becoming enormous, hoping to win the moustache competition. However, things take a turn when Mario's moustache grows so large, it ends up snagging on a nearby car driven by Kaizo, who angrily calls them out for not paying attention, before swatting away Mario's moustache with his scythe.
Mario and Luigi stop, and are soon treated to a big shock of reality; there is a long traffic jam where they are. Mario gets furious that he's stuck in traffic, angry that they don't know who he is. Luigi remains optimistic, saying that it's a good time to do some brotherly bonding. Mario pretends to be excited, and later is soon bored out of his skull by Luigi playing charades, once again thinking of something green, to which Mario irritably answers again, Luigi's hat. Luigi congratulates Mario for getting the right answer, but Mario's still bored. Then, Luigi is reading "Johnny Johnny", in funny voices, which irritates Mario further. He interrupts his brother, saying that they'll play "Shut the F#$% Up" and listen to music instead, and with that, Mario grabs Luigi's book of literature and chucks it out the window; it lands right on Kaizo's head, knocking him out cold, landing him right on his steering wheel's horn. Then Mario switches on the radio, hoping for some good music, but he ends up on a station playing country music, to his irritance. Luigi doesn't mind however, and vibes like a cowboy with the music, though it's stopped when Mario "accidentally" smashes the radio, saying his hand slipped. Luigi is saddened briefly, but he soon excitedly announces, drawing out his phone, that he's got a thousand hours of country music on it. Mario is properly taken aback, and soon gets more irritated when Luigi plays country music again. Mario "accidentally" again throws out Luigi's phone, making the same excuse from before. This time however, the phone goes right through the window of another car, Shroomy's. He ominously leans out his car window, but soon gets excited after believing that Mario was listening to country music. He then switches on his own radio, with 24/7 country music for a hootenanny. He, and soon all of the other drivers, get in on the celebration.
Mario however, finds himself on the verge of fury, and determined to get to the Convention, floors it, much to Luigi's panic. Their car soon crashes into the back of Bob's truck in front of them, which was carrying Spike Balls. Bob gets ticked off by this, angrily telling Mario that he'll have to pay up if he wants to "party" with the balls, much to Mario's anger. A while later, they're back in their car, with Mario muttering about the situation, but he soon sees Luigi listening to music, holding a spinning pinwheel. This immediately gives Mario an idea—he gets out of the car, plants a pinwheel atop it, and blows on it hard. The pinwheel functions as a good propeller, making the car fly, to Mario's excitement. As the car is flying up to the front of the traffic jam, a nervous Luigi gets a knock on his window, which he lowers; it's Swag. He announces that they're flying in restricted airspace, and goes up to the pinwheel, bearing his unsightly lips, which immediately causes the entire vehicle to be flung backwards to earth, landing upside down. Mario gets even more furious when he sees that they are now further back in traffic. Luigi gets up, admitting that if they keep on struggling, they'll end up just digging themselves through. Hearing this, Mario gets another idea—he straps a screaming Luigi to the front of the upside down car. Mario then spins Luigi around, turning him into a makeshift drill for the car, which he then lifts the car to face downwards, starting to dig. But their digging is interrupted by a Diglett. Mario yells at the Pokemon to get out of the way, but he is stopped by the buff Diglett, which grabs Mario and Luigi, throws them far back, and steals their car to tunnel downwards.
Elsewhere in the traffic, SMG4 and SMG3 are sitting in the former's forklift, waiting. SMG3 becomes impatient, while SMG4 is excitedly looking forward to the Forklift Convention, imagining all the attractions. SMG3 pops SMG4’s thought bubble, leading to an argument when SMG3 claims the convention will be very boring. Nearby on the other side, Karen is waiting in her car with her kids when she is startled to find a surprise passenger—Mario, who is poorly disguised as a cat. Furious, Karen kicks Mario out of her car, and Luigi quickly rushes over to him. Mario, feeling frustrated, announces that he’s about to lose it. However, he soon spots SMG4 and SMG3 still arguing. Mario soon becomes enamored with SMG4’s forklift and teleports to the driver’s seat. SMG4 is surprised to see Mario there, but is quickly told by Mario that there’s no time to talk, before he floors the gas pedal. Panicked, SMG4 frantically warns Mario not to drive since he isn’t forklift certified, while SMG3 tries to alert him that they’re about to crash into the cars in front of them. But Mario, fully bent on reaching the convention, ignores their warnings and floors it. However, the chaos is abruptly halted when an alarm blares. The forklift detects Mario as an uncertified driver and deploys "anti-forklift countermeasures," resulting in Mario and the Meme Guardians being ejected from the forklift, which then sprouts a jetpack and takes off, flying straight to the convention, where it is greeted by the buff Diglett from earlier, who is extremely excited.
Luigi then arrives on the scene, asking them what happened, to which SMG4 blames Mario, reminding him what he was telling before ("How was I supposed to know?!", demands the plumber). SMG3 gets up, annoyed that they'll be stranded once traffic gets moving. Luigi however, points out that the traffic hasn't even moved, which SMG4 confirms, deciding that they'll be commuting on foot, much to Mario's horror. Eventually, the four proceed to go on a long and wacky hike, through all sorts of environments that the highway passes through, with the traffic jam right beside them—a hot and bright desert, over the burning caldera of a volcano, through a bright metropolitan city (in which Mario and SMG4 vibe), an untextured and unfinished section; they soon start getting tired and dirty as they keep walking, this time through another desert, and during nighttime through another section of the highway, where, after continuously hiking beside the seemingly endless traffic jam, they stop. After stopping, they find some peculiar sights—various drivers and commuters have stopped as well, camping by the roadside, feeling very tired. SMG4 is unnerved, wondering what's going on. Luigi assumes that they're lined up for a "Flower Convention", to which Mario furiously orders Luigi to shut up, saying that the Moustache Convention is the only thing that's important. SMG3 then crudely suggests that they're probably lined up to Mario's "Mom's" house, which earns him a big slap from SMG4.
There are more interesting sights—Bob is parked up ahead, looking mentally broken as he chants, "The line doesn't stop, but neither does the party." Walter White appears freaked out, desperately trying to make an emergency call on his phone, but he has no connection. The phone repair service, run by Whimpu, is out of commission because another truck is blocking the way, and he looks completely defeated as well. Shroomy then pops up and announces to the crowd that there is no end in sight, and are trapped in line forever. Despaired, he says they will need to cannibalize each other for survival. He consumes a non-anthropomorphic mushroom like himself, but not before apologizing solemnly and then shedding waterfalls of tears. SMG4 and his gang are even more unnerved by these sights, and continue walking some more, but they soon stop to see something else—Swag and Chris are at odds, dressed as prophets, but on opposite ends of surrender and hope; Swag says they will have to give up, saying there is no end, and they will have to accept things the way they are, but Chris has hope, believing that there is an end to the line. The odds soon give rise to war between their groups, who all start arguing furiously with each other. A Goomba on Swag's side and a Koopa on Chris's side argue about opposing situations, and the argument soon turns violent. At that moment, Boopkins arrives on the scene, calling out that the end is near. SMG4 and the gang aren't sure what to do, so SMG4 once again suggests country music, getting out a radio and switching it on. Mario however, is utterly devastated by how things have gotten, and snatches 4's radio, crushes it, and loudly bemoans that he'll never get to the Moustache Convention. They all sidle past the chaos, carefully avoiding it.
One week later, the four are still walking slowly, as things get worse, with SMG4 slowly getting crazy. Mario walks up to a famished Medic, asking "is this you", before he morphs into a (Minecraft) skeleton and dances, which is the last straw for the Medic, who runs away, but dies of starvation, with his legs falling off, leaving behind nothing more than his boots and his Medi Gun. SMG4 meanwhile, gets shocked after spotting the riot between the two groups—Swag's group are saying that there is no end, while Chris's group is saying that the end will come, as usual. SMG4 drops an angry WTF in amazement, while the rioting continues; a BLU Soldier on Chris's side crosses Prinny Machetes with a RED Pyro on Swag's side, which leads to the former neutralizing the latter, who gets dogpiled by the other side's members; Grigori frantically runs up to a car, begging the RED Demoman inside to let him in, but he's too busy praying to Superman to save his life; and so on. SMG4 is understandably uneasy, saying they should move on, but gets concerned by the others' behavior. Luigi sees some of Swag's members, a RED Heavy, some Goombas and Koopas, and hallucinates seeing them, believing they are his fans at his own convention, so he runs up to hug them, but he gets punted away by the Heavy, and immediately dogpiled. Mario meanwhile, is absolutely ticked off, as he turns round slowly, seeing SMG3 vibing to some country music, courtesy of a RED Engineer playing his guitar, along with a few other members. Mario angrily announces things have gone cuckoo-crazy, grabs SMG4 to him and tells him how he's feeling, that things are not okie-dokie.
SMG4 angrily tells Mario not to panic or give up, but Mario cries out that there isn’t any hope, or even an end in sight, for that matter. SMG4 vehemently insists that there is an end to the line. In response, Mario claims that SMG4 is "one of them" and demands to know if he can keep getting away with it. The Meme Guardian is confused, but Mario says that he cannot get away with it before running off to join Swag's side. This frustrates SMG4, who then joins Chris's side, realizing that Mario has gone crazy. They both agree that the only way to resolve their differences is through war, which riles up both sides for combat. The RED Heavy and Soldier strike first by throwing cars, and the BLU Heavy and Pyro retaliate similarly. The battle escalates as they use vehicles as projectiles, including the Demoman's car, which hits an incoming Superman. Things start heating up when SMG4 and Mario, representing either side, confront one another alone to brawl, while Boopkins continues to call out that the end is near, begging everyone to stop fighting. SMG4 angrily tells Mario that they don’t have to fight and they can save everyone and reach the end of the line together. But Mario is astonished that during their "darkest hour," SMG4 has the nerve to ask him to save everyone, pointing to SMG3 and Luigi, who are still enjoying country music. SMG4 declares that there is no choice left, and the war well and truly begins. Both sides clash, using ripped-off car parts as improvised weapons. During the fight, members of Swag's side quickly build a Nemesis Prime from spare parts, which attacks members of the opposing side. In retaliation, members of Chris's side energize a car with a finishing line, transforming it into a Lightning McQueen. SMG4 hops on the Lightning McQueen and speeds forward, while the Nemesis Prime converts into vehicle mode, Mario climbs aboard, and drives forward as well. Both McQueen and Nemesis collide head-on, launching their occupants into the air to land and fight using their parts as weapons: SMG4 using Lightning's radio, while Mario wields Prime's driver seat. As they brawl, SMG4 knocks Mario’s weapon out of his hands and gains the upper hand by pinning him down. Mario manages to briefly distract SMG4 by turning on the radio with his nose, which plays country music. As SMG4 vibes with the music, Mario takes the opportunity to knock him down with his extendable nose. SMG4 then finds himself at Mario's mercy, as Mario re-arms himself with the driver seat.
As the battle reaches its turning point, Mario expresses burning disappointment that SMG4 will miss his Forklift Convention, feeling infuriated after everything that's happened. SMG4 then confesses to Mario that he would have willingly given up on attending the convention, adding that he would have preferred to hang out with Mario at the Moustache Convention instead. These heartfelt words deeply touch Mario, causing him to drop his weapon as he tearfully realizes he cannot simply kill SMG4 over something silly like a traffic dispute. However, their moment is abruptly interrupted by Boopkins, who pleads with them to stop fighting, insisting that the end is near. Confused, SMG4 asks Boopkins what he means, and it soon becomes clear that Boopkins refers to the end of the line, which he confirms. Mario, skeptical, accuses Fishy of lying, claiming he has never witnessed the end. Boopkins, being ever so genre-savvy, reveals that he has been binge watching Jujutsu Kaisen, and has come to the conclusion that they're trapped in a loop. Mario and SMG4 look quite confused, so Boopkins explains what he means: everyone has been driven to madness by this endless cycle, concluding that they are caught in a "domain expansion"—a sorcerer has trapped them within their dimension with cursen energy, a highway with no exit. SMG4 appears unimpressed, seeing how Boopkins's figured out things through watching anime. However, Boopkins reveals there is a way to escape, by creating their own domain expansion. He asks for SMG4 and Mario's assistance, but Mario initially refuses to help. Nevertheless, SMG4 persuades him otherwise, saying that this might their only chance and that they can finally see some mustaches, which excites Mario.
Eventually, Boopkins, dressed as Satoru Gojo, prepares to take a stance, but things take an unexpected turn when he begins to dance. SMG4 is baffled but soon joins in Boopkins' ritual, becoming excited and happy. Although Mario watches with a frown, he decides to join in anyways. Their summoning proves successful as a large portal opens up behind them. The three then perform the domain expansion with Boopkins, dubbed "Infinite Boopkins Realm", which successfully destroys the domain they were in. Shortly after finishing, they find themselves back on the normal highway with Boopkins disappearing without a trace. Luigi and SMG3 are there, asking what happened, and SMG4 briefly explains to them what happened. Immediately after, Mario points down the highway, at something—or specifically, someone—of interest. It's Marty, who's also dressed as Gojo. He reveals that he was the one responsible for creating and trapping them in the domain expansion, but he announces that he will still go to the Moustache Convention, and show he has the superior 'stache. As he turns around and drives away, Mario is saddened by this, but his spirits are lifted when SMG4 announces he has a solution—it involves (literally) curb-stomping the unfortunate Marty before Mario throws him far and high into the sky, where he explodes. With that, SMG4, Mario, and the others all went to the Moustache Convention now that all of their troubles with traffic are over.

- During the 2:59-3:02 timestamp, SMG3's audio had some strange reverberation in it.
Trivia[]
- This episode was released ten years after R64: Freddy's spaghettiria, nine years after SM64: Cooking with mario and bowser 3! and five years after SMG4: Super Mario Taxi.
- Throughout the episode, Mario was shown to hate on country music. This is a recurring gag found within the Cell Saga of DBZ Abridged where Future Trunks has never heard of country music till hearing in present day on the radio and hating it. While this could be just a coincidence, a few DBZA voice clips have been used thoughout the episode, suggesting Mario hating on country music might be inspired by that gag.
