Mario Plays: Friday Night Funkin is the second episode of the Mario Does Things series and six hundred and fifty-fifth video to be uploaded by SMG4.
This video was aired on August 4/August 5, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Mario actually PLAYS FNF for once. He hates it 🤡
Plot[]
Mario wants to play Friday Night Funkin' after being in it, twice.
Tutorial[]
The episode starts with Mario starting up the tutorial. He then wonders if there is a freestyle mode due to the tutorial going too slow and thus spams the keyboard and gets his first death. After doing the whole tutorial again, he thinks it's over but panics when multiple arrows appear on screen. He succeeds of course.
Week 1[]
He then faces of against Daddy Dearest but due to his impatience showing again before it even starts he spams the keyboard and gets another game over offscreen. After playing for a little while in the song, he panics after thinking it was over again and gets another game over.
Week 2[]
He then faces off against the spooky kids: Skid and Pump. He then calls Luigi in and piggy back rides him claiming that 2 vs 1 isn't fair. He looses yet again and gets mad at Luigi telling him to get out.
Week 3[]
When he goes up against Pico he first shoots his own keyboard seeing that Pico was using a gun and thought "You can use a gun in this level". This, of course, crashes his PC due to shooting the keyboard too much. After fixing his PC he tries again (without shooting his computer) he does well until he accidentally muted his own game and panicked thus getting yet another game over.
Week 4?[]
He then faces Obama (the mods are coming in) and after noticing the movements of Obama, he tries to copy him and, well, you know the rest. He tries to spam yet again and the same thing happens. This happens twice and thus changes the difficulty to easy and clears the level.
Vs. Whitty[]
He then challenges Whitty and the same result happens to Mario yet again and broke his fingers.
Week 5[]
His next opponents were both Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest. He brings in Santa and holds him at gunpoint mostly because he wanted his own Santa like how Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest had their own one. He then sings along with Lemon Demon, noting all his disgusting words, and somehow succeeds.
Week 6?[]
He then faces against Joe from Family Guy (again another mod) and after Joe saying that Boyfriend was Ninja, Mario has an existential crisis, due to everything being connected to Fortnite (with Obama being a fan of the game). Mario then goes full on fanboy mode and fails again, mostly because he was distracted by Joe's "tiddies". He then tries to do it blind folded and fails again due to being blind.
Week 7[]
Then he faces off against Tankman and tries to do the start 3 times without missing before shooting his own computer with a tank.
Super Mario Kart[]
He then starts doing mods (even though he was already doing that with Week 4, Whitty and Week 6) with the first being: Mario Kart. After realizing he's not doing this mod justice he hops on his own kart and drives while playing the game. He crashes of course and fails but accidentally hits reset when he lands back down on his computer.
Kapi[]
He then faces off against Kapi with his own DDR machine and gets cramp causing the camera to temporarily switch off. After it comes back on he tells the audience that he's come up with a strategy to beat Kapi. He then goes absolutely apeshit on his own DDR machine and it cuts away after Mario says that he didn't fail (somehow).
Trickward[]
The third mod he plays is against suicide Squidward (which is also a mod of Tricky). He fails and throws his computer out of the window, much to Toadsworth's dismay.
SMG4?[]
The 4th mod which Mario plays on is: SMG4 himself. After hearing the in-game smg4 tell Mario/boyfriend to eat his vegetables Mario goes screaming out of the room.
Weegee[]
After he gets back he plays the final mod: WEEGEE. When it starts, he is shocked to see the speed of the arrows and the fact that WEEGEE is managing to get the arrows. He fails miserably and calls Luigi for help on his phone. When Luigi gets to the castle, Mario summons the power of WEEGEE to awaken him so that Luigi could beat WEEGEE. After Mario gets scared of Luigi's awakened abilities, Luigi then uses said powers to perfectly get the arrows. This pleases Mario a lot. Everything is fine until Luigi's own abilities start to overload, scaring Mario to the point of panicking a lot when the computer is destroyed.
Epilogue[]
As Toadsworth was done with repairing the other window that Mario broke earlier, the whole castle ends up exploding due to Luigi, causing Toadsworth to scream into the sky.

- This is the second episode in the series.
- Barack Obama wasn't a full replacement, Mommy Mearest can be seen in Week 5 unreplaced.
- This is the first episode to include the new SMG4 intro, now not including the Glitch Productions logo from the start and also adding just the SMG4 cap with the background from the outros. This intro would be used until SMG4: Let’s Go Visit Peach!, and a new intro would be used for subsequent videos.
- At 8:18 the audio and the fact that Luigi rises in a t pose is a reference to a meme where people summon Luigi at 3 am
- This is the 3rd most popular video in the Mario Does Things series, beaten by Mario Tries Life Hacks and Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes.
- Running Gag: Mario breaking windows of the castle throughout the episode and forcing toadsworth to repair them and then destroying the castle
