Mario Try Not To Cringe Challenge is the 37th episode of the Mario Does Things series and the seven hundred and sixty-seventh video overall uploaded on the SMG4 channel.

Synopsis

Mario looks at some CRINGE and tries his best to survive watching it

Plot

Pudding Mario (Prologue)

Mario searches for videos on YouTube until he finds a Try Not to Cringe Challenge. He accepts the challenge, and the first video was a weird fat man dressed up as Mario eating some chocolate pudding. Mario cringes, plays the banjo, and scrunches up. After un-scrunching, the challenge "officially" begins.

Weird Minion Woman

The next video is a woman cosplays a Minion. Mario is terrified, so he grabs a toothbrush and some bleach, pours the bleach onto the toothbrush, and brushes his eyes out of existence. He is relieved now.

Broken Finger

The next video is a guy that says he broke his finger. Mario is disgusted, until the guy uses a stick to fix it. Mario is surprised by it. He breaks SMG4's finger to such a degree that it can't be fixed, and puts a stick on it, therefore "fixing" it. SMG4 screams in pain.

Doctor's Diagnosis

The next video is a woman thinking she has coronavirus, but she actually has the common cold. Then, Mario says she doesn't have the latter disease, and then diagnoses her with cringe.

JoJo Girl Bad LOL

the next video is a man saying if the viewer's a woman and the viewer watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, he laughs at the viewer. Then, Mario roasts him saying he gets no b**ches. A crowd forms around Mario because of the roast.

Cheerleading Crossdress man

The next video is a cheerleading individual in suggestive clothing. Mario thinks it's hot at first, but then realizes that it's a man. Mario says it's like he knew it all along.

Fursuit Filter

The next video is a man wearing a fursuit and a filter, so Mario makes a animation of himself gets buff and says he doesn't need a filter. Mario sees the viewer, and seeing his ruse is up, throws the computer at the screen, telling the viewer to get out.

Try not to Laugh

A man makes various noises and gestures, much to Mario's horror.

Try not to Lactate

A follow up to the previous segment. Mario commits suicide by snapping his own neck.

Death Stare

Mario insults the person in the video. The stare, however, shoots a laser and reduces Mario's head to a skeleton, which "hurt a little."

Relaxation

After feeling stressed, Mario goes to relax with some ASMR and falls asleep by the sounds until he is awake when the woman whispers "Among Us". He sees the Red Crewmate laughing and then tells him about how lame the joke is before slapping him and tosses him out to the fiery dumpster.

Dodge the Shots

A man twerks. Mario claims he can do better and demonstrates in the lobby. Bob finds "his cue" and shoots Mario. SMG4 still gives Mario a 10 out of 10.

Discord Mod

Seeing the person in the video describe someone as "his 18+ kitten," Mario bursts into the man's room, only to see him watching a video where someone puts an action figure into a jar. Horrified, Mario insults the man, earning the latter's wrath who battles Mario with a katana while Mario uses a body pillow. Mario claims that "this anime stuff is garbage," only to change his mind when the man recommends Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Little Rascal

Mario attempts to send the video to SMG4, who hits him with a bat in response. Mario retaliates by sending him a cargo ship through the phone.

Megamind Man

Seeing his massive forehead, Mario and SMG4 play a game a tic-tac-toe, which SMG4 wins.

Identity Theft

The video has a man dressed as Mario refer to someone dressed as Daisy as his mother multiple times. Mario shoots Engineer Mario for identity theft, and when Daisy calls him a b**ch, he throws the sofa at her.

Spiciness

Mario eats plenty of spicy peppers, as the video claims it will make him skinny. All it does is make him go to the bathroom, much to Toad's horror.

Fortnite Snow

The person in the video believes that the snow is a Fortnite reference and a "tilted tower miracle." Mario decides to pull a pro-gamer move and drops the battle bus on him.

Dumbest thing Ever

After watching this video, everyone starts clapping along with Mario, who claims it's the dumbest thing he has ever heard.

Under Fur

Mario is disgusted, but SMG4 reveals that Mario has done the same thing before with the Tanuki Suit. Mario dies of cringe, and while in Heaven, demands that Jesus delete the world, which the latter declines.

Three Phrases (Epilogue)

Similar to the Try Not to Laugh clip, a man says a "funny" line and starts laughing at his own joke. Mario claims he has found the funny and is rewarded with a trophy for it. However, it turns out that it was only just a dream; because in truth, Mario was actually revealed to be cringed so hard that he had a "rage blackout," much to the concern of Luigi, Peach, and SMG4.

  • He also mentions to have edited TikTok clips due to the original music being copyrighted in them. One of which had the gunshot sfx being too quiet, so he used the Jetpack Joyride theme to sync it better. The other involved him adding a song titled "The Man with the Machine Gun" for one of those "School kid gets bullied for odd reason" type of content, to create in some layered dark humor.
• Doobus Goobus, the voice actor behind the "Boy, I say, boy, this anime stuff is GARBAGE!" quote, responded to the video with "I'm... not really sure how I'm supposed to feel." SMG4 responded clarifying that the writer of the episode was a fan, which Doobus Goobus appreciated.
