Template:BG/Meggy This is a page that details Meggy's relationships with other characters.
Mario
Initially, Mario and Meggy had a rocky start. After Mario released her from her paint-can 'prison', she attacked him under the belief that he was the one who put her in there. However, since then, they have become friends. In fact, Meggy is one of the few characters that Mario is consistently nice or supportive to (even more so than Luigi, his own brother). Meggy is shown to find Mario's stupidity to be hilarious. Meggy appears to be angered quickly when people talk about or pick on Mario as seen in SMG4: New Year, New Mario, and SMG4: If Mario Was In... Splatoon 2. Mario even comforted Meggy during her tearful breakdown in SMG4: Meggy's Bootcamp.
Meggy chose to support Mario during SMG4: War of the Fat Italians 2017.
Overall, it seems that Meggy sees Mario as one of her best friends, and a great source of help, or to get out of a jam.
SMG4
Their relationship is neutral, for most of the time. However, they have some rivalry in War of the Fat Italians 2017, due to Meggy supporting Mario.
Luigi
They have a normal relationship. He was one of the people Meggy chose to be on her team for Splatfest.
Fishy Boopkins
Meggy heavily dislikes spending time with Boopkins, due to how uncomfortable she is about anime and shipping. It is shown in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2018 that she is actually afraid of spending time with him. Like Bob, his annoying personality and naivety often annoys her.
She chose to play cards with Boopkins during SMG4: Mario And The T-Pose Virus, but was unsure what card game they were playing.
However, later on in the episode SMG4: The Melancholy of Fishy Boopkins, Meggy is seen trying to cheer up Boopkins, and even comes up with the idea to cheer him up after interrupting Luigi.
Bob
Bob is a constant source of annoyance for Meggy. Like with most of the other characters, Bob's constant search for friends and his insufferable personality often drives people away, and Meggy is no exception.
After Bob insults her voice, Meggy asks if her voice really is annoying and covers her mouth. After which, she and the group (SMG4, Mario, and Saiko) performed at stage for Darkest Hour and like the group, resented him when he came by.
As of SMG4 Christmas 2018: The Most Important Thing, they are on good terms.
Toad
They seem to have a decent friendship, even though they rarely talk to each other. The two of them contrast each other in personality, as Toad is a couch potato. He was one of the people Meggy Worked together in SMG4: Wild, Wild Mario and SMG4: The Mario Mafia.
Bowser
Meggy and Bowser seem to get along in cooking. However, in SMG4: Mario and the Bob Mansion... and SMG4: Mario's Hell Kitchen, Bowser dislikes Meggy using her paint to cook. Despite this, Bowser also seems to care for Meggy a lot, as evident from him giving Meggy a floatie to stop her from drowning in SMG4: Stupid Mario Sports Mix. This is also supported by the fact that he is present at Desti's funeral in SMG4: Final Hours with his son Bowser Jr.
Saiko
She and Meggy are on good terms and the two spend time with each other frequently, usually accompanied by Tari as well. (SMG4: Mario's Late!, SMG4: Mario And... The Well and SMG4: Mad Mario)
In SMG4: Mario And... The Well, Meggy worked with Saiko to rescue Boopkins. In that same episode, she and Saiko were both showed to be firefighters and partners in crime.
Tari
Meggy and Tari are close friends and the two hang out a lot. The two seem to get along just fine, and often show to care for one another.
When first meeting in SMG4: The Mario Carnival, the two were brief rivals as they were competing in a shooting game. Upon losing to Tari because of her skills at shooting (due to her being a cyborg), Meggy came to admire Tari.
In SMG4: The Mario Convention!, the two friends are seen going to the titular convention. Although Tari is in awe of all of the things shown at the convention, Meggy is weirded out by everything. Despite this, she still sticks around for Tari's sake. Later, Tari notices a crowd forming around Hideo Kojima, and wishes to meet him. However, Tari despairs over not being able to meet him due to the number of fans surrounding him. Meggy, however, promises to bring him over to Tari. She proceeds to fight over him with Mario.
During SMG4: Mario and the Waluigi Apocalypse, Tari witnessed Meggy as a T-Pose Zombie and desperately tried getting her back to her senses, crying and hugging Meggy when she failed. While Meggy wasn't returned back to normal, she did hold back from attacking Tari and even shed a tear. While trying to reason with Meggy, Tari mentions that she and Meggy play video games together.
Waluigi
Meggy hates Waluigi, as seen in SMG4: Mario And The T-Pose Virus. In SMG4: Mario SAW Meggy rejected Waluigi's birthday. The feeling is apparently mutual, as Waluigi transformed Meggy into a T-Pose Zombie.
At the end of War of the Fat Italians 2018, she is seen applauding the reunion of the Wario brothers.
Shroomy
Meggy is friendly towards him and sees him as her friend, as shown in SMG4: Wild, Wild Mario and SMG4: Stupid Mario Sports Mix. The two of them are similar in personality, as they are both heavy achievers. However, in SMG4: Mario School Club during the hunting club, Shroomy disapproves of Meggy's sharpshooting and performs better than her.
Swagmaster69696969696
Swagmaster started to hold a grudge against Meggy after she shot his crotch in SMG4: Mario's Prison Escape, even calling her a "thot". However, he is willing to help Mario and the others find Meggy after she is kidnapped in SMG4: The Inkling Disappearances.
Axol
In SMG4: The Mario Showdown Meggy and Axol first met, and they tend to get to know each other since Axol was raised in Inkopolis. In SMG4: Mario Saves Anime Axol seems to be more warming up to Meggy. Meggy and Axol have neutral friendship. Meggy doesn't really like Axol despite Axol asking for Meggy's "50%" of her ink, which makes Meggy dizzy and delirious.
In SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny, When she's is not feeling right Axol go check on her to see if she's alright and if she need anything meaning that he really care for her and that their friendship grew stronger, when she throw the ink boi in the trash Axol sees it and is worry aqbout her since he is not sure if Splatsquad will win.
After The Ink Brigade was declared champion Axol follow Meggy after she run off crying and tell her to not be sad, he then try to cheer her up by make her focusing her mind on something else as she remember that she misssed to be an inkling and the good old day. But same if she feel better she tell Axol that when she was an Inkling she did things her way and did need a ink boi Axol tell her that all she need to be its the best she already be, after being told that she can return to Splatfest and win it he congrats Meggy for her victory and realise that Axol was a true friends wich some viewers see them as more then just friends

Desti
They are arch-enemies, but Desti and Meggy deep-down care for each other. In SMG4: The Splatfest Incident when the Octoposse gets 70% of the battlefield covered, Desti seemed upset when she didn't see Meggy. Also yet again in the same episode, she helps the crew to find her rival; Meggy. Overall, it wouldn't be said that they are friends, but two close acquaintances that care for each other. In SMG4: World War Mario, Desti was stabbed by Sephiroth, causing Meggy to be severely devastated. Desti's last words were for Meggy, hoping that she would win the Splatfest for her. This shows that the two rivals became close friends in the end.
In SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny, she is shown as a spirit to encourage her to keep going until Meggy finally won. She congratulates her for winning her promise and asked to try to move on with life, they both hugged and said their goodbyes as Desti returns to her afterlife.
Francis
Meggy didn't really like Francis when first meeting him in SMG4: Mario's Lemonade Stand, since his squabble with Jeeves' milk gang was interrupting her chances to take Mario and Tari for training for Splatfest. Her dislike of him soon grew into hate during SMG4: Mario and the Experiment, when she found out he kidnapped her and a bunch other citizens of Inkopolis to extract their ink for Axol's Inkweaver, only fueling her hate and animosity towards Francis even more. In SMG4: Final Hours, she watched in horror as the crew gathered around Desti's lifeless corpse to mourn her death, outright shouting to Francis that he will pay for Desti's death no matter what or how.
