The SMG4 cast, also known as SMG4's Gang, the SMG4 crew or the Glitchy Gang, are the main protagonists of the SMG4 Series and channel overall.

Originally consisting of SMG4's interpretation of the YouTube Rangers, and characters from the Super Mario franchise (with himself, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser), he later developed his own original characters to add, including but not limited to Fishy Boopkins, Bob Bobowski, Saiko Bichitaru, Shroomy, Tari and the former members of the Anti-Cast, as well as the less frequent Axol, Toad, Swagmaster69696969696, Chris Gordman and Melony in 2020. Peach Toadstool, and Steve served as initial members before retiring in Season 8, and Jeeves and Belle Fontiere also temporarily joined the gang at certain points. Desti and Greg The Alien were also temporary members before their respective deaths, and Meggy Spletzer was a major member until her temporary departure in Season 11 to start off Sunset Paradise.

Since 2011, they've been up to hilarious, scary, random, and epic misadventures and shenanigans. However, come 2018-2020, they've also been involved in dramatic and rather emotional and serious adventures in story arcs such as the Waluigi Arc and the Anime Arc.

Members

Throughout/Overall

  • SMG4 - The creator of the bloopers and one of the main protagonists of the series. He resides in Peach's Castle with Mario, often making his bloopers (or playing Minecraft), and gets generally annoyed by Mario (who is apparently his assistant), but he likes him nonetheless.
  • Mario - One of th main protagonists of the series. He is crazy for spaghetti and incredibly retarded. Almost all of the bloopers revolve around him and the trouble that he gets the main cast and himself into.
  • Luigi - Mario's younger brother and the deuteragonist of the series. He makes smarter decisions than Mario, but he's still as cowardly as he is in the actual games, if not more so.

Frequent/Current Members

  • Fishy Boopkins - A Spike who is a huge otaku fan and has a love for dakimakura pillows, He first appeared in the SeasideStupidity two-parter episode.
  • Bob Bobowski - A Garo who evidently was a sewer wizard from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Mario and Luigi first met him in SM64 Bloopers: Can Ganondorf come out to play?. He's obsessed with fame, money, and getting the most screen-time in his appearances. Despite his humorous punching bag status, Bob has proven he can be a downright repulsive, self-admitted asshole if he isn't given the attention he wants, especially since he is the primary antagonist of the Rapper Bob Arc.
  • Saiko Bichitaru - A beautiful but insane love interest from an unnamed dating simulator game based on Doki Doki Literature Club. Boopkins brought her to life one day with Kamek's wand in order for him to have a real girlfriend. Due to her being mentally unstable for wanting attention, their relationship ends in tragedy. However, she has since recovered from said incident and has considered Boopkins a friend, though she remains a psychopath.
  • Tari - A shy blue-haired cyborg gamer from Silica City who tends to get hurt a lot. Mario turns to her for guidance on how to be a good player and kick SMG4's butt at Super Smash Each Other In The Ass Bros, and as such became friends with them both and the rest of the gang, namely Meggy and Saiko.
  • Axol - An Inkopolis-born manga artist from Japan who can create anime characters using his special pen, the Inkweaver. He got a red scar on his right eye as of SMG4: The Internet Graveyard and the Inkweaver is now broken. After The YouTube Arc, he often hangs out with the group usually around Melony, and he is shown to be more active with the gang in Season 11.
  • Anti-Cast - A group of doppelgangers formed by SMG3 to usurp SMG4, later became friends with the SMG4 cast.
    • Whimpu - A meek boy who is computer genius and simps for anime girls. He serves as the doppelganger of Saiko Bichitaru.
    • Melony - A former sentient watermelon, now a lazy human girl thanks to a Fiece Deity Mask who is a master at hacking and a romantic interest of Axol.

Occasional members

  • Bowser - The Koopa King and leader of the Koopa Troop and the former main antagonist (partnered and then replaced by SMG3) of the series. In times before, Bowser was always trying to kidnap Princess Peach. Despite them canonically being archenemies, here he is actually one of Mario's friends. He isn't as smart as his Nintendo counterpart and commonly falls victim to his own incompetence. Since after The Anime Arc and The YouTube Arc, he has appeared less with the gang as a whole, mainly appearing either the former Anti-Cast members as his de-facto replacements or spending more time with his children, or with Mario. As of SMG4: The Quest for RTX, he might have gone back to his villainous activities as he fired missiles from his airship at SMG4, Mario, and Bob.
  • Toad - A cynical and annoying mushroom person which that his behavior is probably due to Mario's antics. Like Bowser, he is mostly seen being absent around the gang during The Anime Arc and only appeared in cameos and minor roles in The YouTube Arc and other recent episodes and he also rarely gets a major role in the series since SMG4: Mario Does The Chores. After The Anime Arc, he rarely appeared with the gang in favor of Shroomy. He still resides in Peach's Castle and is also still the main aide of Peach as of SMG4: Food Wars. Nowdays he only occasionally interacted with the gang such as in SMG4: The Minecraft Plague, SMG4: The Weegee Uprising, SMG4: Mario's Inside Story, and SMG4 Christmas Special 2020. Despite that, he was one of the main protagonists in SMG4: Nintendo Gets Deleted working together with Mario, Luigi and Bowser, as well as Wario and Waluigi who also were protagonists in that episode.
  • Shroomy - A young anthropomorphic mushroom, a former demon hunter and a member of the Mushroom Scouts with over 300,000 badges to his name. However, his body was in SMG3's Gang's side due to his Anti-Shroomy personality, until SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2020. After the YouTube arc, he started to appear less and has so far only appeared in one video in Season 11.
  • Belle Fontiere - A cyborg gamer girl like Tari. However, she is aggressive more than her. She was part of the Anti-Cast and joined the gang after SMG3's banishment to the Internet Graveyard but hasn't been appearing in 2021.
  • JubJub Boopkins - Fishy Boopkins’ younger brother who is often bullied by Mario. He joined SMG3's Gang in S̶M̶G̶4̶: I Can't Believe It's Not SMG4! as a parallel doppelganger to his brother, although in SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2020, he has made up with him. So far, he as only made one minor cameo in Season 11.
  • Rob the Scarecrow - A sentient Scarecrow who lives on a farm with Steve and loves corn. Like JubJub Boopkins, he acts as a doppelganger to Bob. Like JubJub, he stopped appearing as frequently in Season 11, most likely to continue working on Steve's farm as shown in SMG4: The Pursuit of Happiness.

Former Members

  • Starman3 - A former friend and ally of SMG4. Due to real-life controversies, he has been removed from SMG4's videos.
  • Peach Toadstool - The ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and the castle Mario and almost everyone else resides in. She was the prominent female character in early bloopers until Meggy took over that role in late 2017, hence explaining her recent lack of appearances. She has had a few antagonistic appearances in recent years, such as in Part 1 of The Anime Arc (alongside Desti) and SMG4: Food Wars, however, she is still often acting like a nagging motherly figure to the gang.
  • Steve - The default avatar used in the world of Minecraft but a character in the SMG4 universe. He's usually friendly with the rest of the members although insulting Minecraft in any way will result in getting on his bad side. He served as a major recurring character in earlier bloopers but stopped appearing with the crew as of Season 8. After SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2018, he mostly appears in Minecraft-themed bloopers such as SMG4: If Mario Was in... Minecraft, SMG4: The Minecraft Plague and SMG4: Steve Fights Everyone.
  • Meggy Spletzer - Formerly a female Inkling transformed into a human who was accidentally captured in a paint bucket, causing her to be freed and flee into a manhole that leads to Inkopolis, taking Mario along with her. She completes in Turf War tournaments with her team, the Splat Squad. After the events of SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a Splatfest champion, but couldn't figure out what to do next in life. She temporarily left the gang in Season 11 to vacation in Port Aurora, which will be showcased in Sunset Paradise. Despite this, she will still interact with them via phone/discord calls.

Allies/Companions

  • Swagmaster69696969696 - One of the main protagonists of Guards N' Retards along with his partner Chris Gordman who work as guards in a spaghetti manufacturing company named Fresh Spaghetti Tubbie. He's very unintelligent and often causes a lot of the problems in the series.
  • Chris Gordman - One of the main protagonists of Guards N' Retards along with his partner Swagmaster69696969696 who used to work as guards at Fresh Spaghetti Tubbie. He's much more competent and sane than Swag is though at times he has done some insane stuff. He and Swagmaster6969696969 have been tertiary antagonists in the The Anime Arc previously but became allies in the second half of the arc.
  • Desti - Formerly Meggy's rival and one of the two main antagonists of Part 1 of The Anime Arc, alongside Peach Toadstool. Jealous at first over having Mario on her team, Desti eventually gained respect for her. Tragically, she died at the end of SMG4: World War Mario at the hands of Francis.
  • Greg The Alien - An alien from outer space. He was captured and sent to Area 51 but was bust out of the area with Mario's help. He was grateful for it and had stayed as Mario's House's new resident. Unfortunately, he was accidentally killed by Mario in SMG4: Stupid Mario Arcade.
  • X - A notable ally in the earlier videos. His appearances have recently been mostly restricted to just being the host of the War of the Fat Italians series.
  • FightingMario54321 - Another friend and ally of SMG4. Like X, FightingMario54321 has fewer appearances starting from 2015, being relegated to just cameos.
  • Toadsworth - An elderly Toad who is Princess Peach's steward and who tries to keep her from being kidnapped. Between SMG4: Mario and the Waluigi Apocalypse and SMG4: Mario The Supreme Leader, he only had one minor appearance while his other appearances are just cameos. Before that episode he appeared more often than now.
  • Yoshi - A green dinosaur who acts as an ally of the Mario Bros. He is usually depicted as a fruit lover, wallet thief, drug user, weapons dealer, and even a tax fraud criminal in the series. His personality seems to wildly vary with every episode he shows up in.
  • Professor E. Gadd - One of the main characters of Luigi's Mansion and its sequel. He started off as a small character in early videos but has become a recurring character as of 2014. He played a major role in SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny.
  • Joe Boopkins - Fishy Boopkins' and JubJub Boopkins' father. He's basically a giant version of Octodad with Cthulhu's head.
  • Jeeves - A sentient fork who owns several companies and is known to have a very short temper. In recent seasons he has been reduced to a background character.
  • New Super Duper Mario Plus Ultra - A descendant of Mario 500 years in the future where Defective Weegee reign. He teams up with Luigi, Boopkins, and Shroomy, who were frozen for 500 years, to undo the Weegee Uprising.
  • SMG4's Minion - A female clone who is created after Mario accidentally clones SMG4 and spaghetti at the same time in SM64 Bloopers: Luigi Labyrinth.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog - A super-fast Mobian hedgehog and the main protagonist of his namesake series. He briefly helped Bowser stopped Princess Peach from being engaged by Dr. Eggman in Egg and Peach. He is also the current "waifu" (romantic interest) of Swagmaster.
  • Dr. Eggman - A rotund mad scientist and Sonic's arch-nemesis. He once helped the group in stopping Crazy Koopa in SM64 Bloopers: Shell Shocked.
  • Slenderman - The main character of The Slender Man Mythos and a humanoid abomination who happens to share an odd friendship with Mario since Super Mario 64 Bloopers: My Best Friend Slenderman.
  • Old Man Hobo - A recurring side character based on the sprite of the infamous Old Man from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen while laying down.
  • Susan Wojcicki - CEO of YouTube. After SMG3 had gotten rid of her from stopping his plans, she temporally allies with SMG4's crew to take down SMG3 in The YouTube Arc.
  • Siren Head - Another abomination whom Mario befriended. However, he and Slenderman do not get along, as shown in SMG4: SSENMODNAR - 3,826,412 SUB SPECIAL.

Enemies/Rivals

  • SMG3 - SMG4's arch-nemesis and doppelganger and the overall main antagonist of the series and the YouTube Arc. He mainly wants to kill SMG4 and his friends and take over the world, though on some occasions he isn't as harmful as he seems. He is currently seen being the only enemy who actively antagonizes the gang.
  • Wario - Mario's greedy arch-rival who starred in "The Wacky Wario Bros." episodes for a while alongside Waluigi. He loves money.
  • Waluigi - Wario's partner/brother and taco vender. He is also the arch-rival of Luigi who starred in "The Wacky Wario Bros." episodes alongside Wario. After harnessing the power of rejection, he became the main antagonist of the Waluigi Arc.
  • Francis - An anime-obsessed chameleon originating from the game Super Paper Mario and the primary antagonist of Part 2 of the Anime Arc, as well as the main antagonist of the arc overall.
  • Anime Secret Service (formerly) - Peach's anime prevention force. They are the Anime Cartel's rival. Despite being officially disbanded since SMG4: Mario Saves Anime, they help SMG4's Gang fight Francis and the Anime Cartel.
  • Team Killer Ink - A team of Inklings competing in the final Splatfest event who are racist towards humans. They served as the primary antagonists of the computer-animated film Meggy's Destiny.
