All I Want For Christmas Is Mario To FREAKIN BEHAVE is the forty-eighth and final episode of Season 12 of the SMG4 series, the five hundred and ninety-fifth within the SMG4 series, and the seven hundred and eighty-first video overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.
It is the twelfth Christmas Special. The video was uploaded on December 24, 2022.
Synopsis[]
It's CHRISTMAS TIME but Mario does something naughty and has to make up for it.
Plot[]
The gang gathered at the foyer of Peach's Castle for a Christmas dinner. While Luigi and Saiko prepped up the Christmas turkey and begin to prepare the Christmas pudding in the kitchen and nobody eats until they are done, showing the fact of Mario was chained to his chair by Meggy to prevent him from eating the food on the table. SMG1 and SMG2 asked SMG3 and SMG4 about how they are training their powers ever since peace has been restored, but they were busy dealing with a big corrupt official monkey problem. The two then show their new invention, the anti-cringe salt, to be used to remove the cringe from a meme, and demonstrated it on SMG4, who became very weird towards SMG3. While Meggy and Melony were suggesting ideas for Meggy's thesis since she was graduating next year, Mario spotted Melony's pet axolotl, Axol Jr. sneaking around, then he got an idea. An awful idea. Mario had a wonderful, awful idea despite not knowing what is about to happen.
Thinking of a plan to set him free and eat the food, he asked Axol Jr. to sneak some food and share it with him. However, things went different when Axol Jr. landed on Bob's face, causing Bob to freak out. SMG3, being weirded by SMG4's new phase, kicked him, launching him at Bob, causing Axol Jr. to fly into a bowl of hot soup. As a result of being on set fire, Melony had to douse Axol Jr. with water, blaming Mario for his injury. Seeing what happened, everyone too was disappointed at Mario.
After an explanation from Meggy about how much Melony cared for Axol Jr., Mario went upstairs to apologize. However, as he opened the door, he found that the upper floors of the castle had turned into a fortress, with an angry Melony sitting on the entrance in her Fierce Deity form. Seeing how this was going to be difficult, Mario needed some help to apologize to Melony. He had forced Kaizo, Bob and Boopkins to make Christmas music with him by showing them nightmarish images, while the Meme Guardians went outside to gather anti-cringe salt to make snow, using those around them being angry.
Meggy went upstairs and gave the snow monster Melony had created some Christmas cookies... that Meggy baked. Because Meggy's cooking was atrocious, the monster dies from food poisoning. Meggy then called for Melony and appeased her to come downstairs to see Mario apologizing to her. As she came down, the foyer was decorated, with Kaizo, Boopkins and Bob performing Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You. Mario appeared, and apologized for what he has done, regretting his mistakes. Now seeing himself being true to his feelings, Melony accepted his apology, and embraced Mario. Then, Axol Jr. flew up to the Christmas tree to light up the star on top, while the rest watched from below as they all clapped with joy to the christmas spirit. Then Old Man Hobo (playing as Santa Claus) wishing everyone a merry Christmas to everyone before flying away in his bathtub, ending the episode and the season on a very wholesome note.

Receptions[]
While still childish, Mario becomes determined to set things right.
Though not as contentious as past episodes, some fans were critical of this episode, especially the first half. These fans have criticized Mario's portrayal, unhappy that he was acting childish and unlikable again, similar to SMG4: How To Train Your Mario. Others were also put off by the apparent retconning of SMG4: If Mario Was In... Nickelodeon by having Melony get Axol Jr. in a pet store, instead of Mario wishing him up for her. Melony's characterization was also divisive, with some stating that she was worse than Mario in this episode. Fans also said that this was the worst Christmas special.
Melony accepts Mario's apology, ending the video on a wholesome note.
However, many fans found the episode to be wholesome overall, and were happy to see Mario remorseful and make up for his actions. This episode has a 4.5/10 on IMDb as of 2025.

- World of Warcraft: In the scene where Mario is attempting to apologize to Melony for Axol Jr, Melony can be seen in her Fierce Deity form, sitting on an icy throne with sword in hand, just like Arthas Menethil, the second Lich King.
- Family Guy: A meme of Peter Griffin trying rice cakes audio was used after the snow monster ate one of Meggy's christmas cookies.
