Synopsis[]
Luigi clones Mario so he has someone to hang out with, but things get a lil too coo-coo crazy
Plot[]
One day, Mario goes around asking various friends if the want to party with him, but unfortunately, they are all too busy; SMG4 is currently on a date, which is with an e-girl on his computer screen; SMG3 is having his own private date, having closed down his cafe (which Mario breaks into, but SMG3 kicks him out); Bob is busy hiding his "totally legal plants" (weed); Meggy is busy training Tari on how to stand up to bullies, even though she is not doing well; Wario, in the middle of a bank robbery, riding Yoshi, harshly refuses; in the end, Luigi is the only person left with no other things to do. Although Luigi offers to hang out with him, Mario sadly refuses, saying he wants to be with someone fun, before going home. Luigi feels sorry for Mario, however he soon hears someone aside.
Luigi sees Professor E. Gadd testing some kind of gun on himself. He fires it, and to his surprise, a clone of himself appears. The original E. Gadd pulls out his clone's tuft of hair to stick onto his own balding head, then kills his clone with a Sangheilian plasma sword. He plans on making and killing more clones for their hair to deal with his baldness, even though he is struggling to stick the hairs on his head. Seeing E. Gadd's weapon, Luigi gets the idea of using it to make clones of himself as a way of giving Mario company. He decides to advertise some of his quick growing hair lotion, showing its effects, and offers to sell it to E. Gadd for only his cloning gun. Excited, Elvin trades his cloning gun for the lotion, and uses it on himself, though his hair continuously grows thicker and longer.
At the Mario Bros' residence, Mario is sitting sadly when Luigi arrives, showing the cloning gun. Unfortunately, Mario thinks Luigi is holding a live firearm and is going to shoot himself, tackling him to the ground. This causes the gun to go off, with the shot from it rebounding and hitting Mario, who soon gets himself a clone. Mario greets his clone, and the two happily dance. Outside the house, Wario watches, and gets an idea too to make clones of himself, cranking up the trauma done to Waluigi, and getting an army to help in bank robberies. He grabs his mount, Yoshi, and throws him at the wall to break in. He tries to reach for the cloning gun, only for the Marios to stop him. Waluigi throws one of them away, while the other tries to get rid of him by hopping on him with a chainsaw, leading to Wario accidentally slipping on a banana, falling on Yoshi, who extends his tongue out, striking the gun out of Luigi's hands. This causes the weapon to activate, this time releasing a shockwave, creating more Mario clones, but also clones of Wario and Yoshi. The Marios quickly grab Luigi and the cloning gun and run for safety, with the Warios giving chase, along with the Yoshis, who want to eat Luigi after tasting him.
In a restaurant, SMG4 and SMG3 are on a double date, with their respective girlfriends; the e-girl computer monitor and a girlfriend made from bombs. SMG3 suggests getting a real girlfriend unlike the one he has, which SMG4 takes offense to. However, their discussion is soon interrupted by the chaos going on outside. Looking out the window, they see the Wario clones going on a crime spree, robbing banks and holding people gunpoint, while the stacked Mario clones try riding on Yoshi together, whom they crush because of their combined weight, along with other Yoshis, and even have a singing concert. The Meme Guardians are hardly impressed, with SMG4 saying it's just another normal day. Soon, the Mario clones enter their restaurant riding Yoshi, and soon many more of them flood the place to preform Step 1 of their plan: Secure the food, causing more chaos inside, knocking SMG4 and SMG3 high onto a pillar, raiding the kitchen, running over and injuring the staff and customers, and even kidnapping the Meme Guardians' dates. They soon see a mass of hair climbing up to them, which frightens them at first, though luckily it's only E. Gadd, having grown a new crop of hair. He explains that the whole incident was caused by his cloning gun, but he soon gets interrupted by Mario getting his hair, thinking it's spaghetti, and soon gathers all of his clones to get E. Gadd. Before he gets dogpiled and eaten, Elvin tells 4 and 3 to find Luigi, as he has the device, but gets cut off before he can tell how to get rid of the clones. This irks SMG3, but SMG4 assures he has a way to find Luigi: the power of the fourth wall. To the confusion of SMG3, SMG4 asks the viewers if they can find Luigi in the mass of clones of Mario, Wario and Yoshi, and sure enough, a mouse cursor finds him, outside the restaurant.
Outside, Luigi is frightenedly standing atop a car, surrounded by clones, holding them all at gunpoint. Unable to bring himself to shoot, he immediately surrenders and drops the gun, which fires another shockwave, which in turn, to the shock of Luigi, causes the clones of Mario, Wario and Yoshi to multiply. Mario then leads his clones, inviting them for Phase Two--hosting a big Mario Party. However, Wario orders him to have his party somewhere else, to which Mario delivers an epic slow motion punch to Wario, knocking him flat. Before long, the Warios and Marios declare war, fighting with each other. As the clones of each side fight each other, some Wario clones rob a gun shop for more weapons. In return, the Mario clones spot Swag's tank, which they steal from him while he is relaxing on it, and both sides start shooting each other. Before long, the real war begins, with the appropriate setting. SMG4 and SMG3 frantically run through the no man's land under fire, in an effort to find Luigi. While the war is going on, Mario is hiding behind a wall of sacks, and spots Yoshi and his clones waiting. Mario calls them for help, promising a big party together, but Wario instead asks for their help, also promising a party in his name. Looking at either of their choices, the Yoshi clones can't decide. Ultimately, the war immediately stops, and Mario decides that there's only one way to persuade them...
Both Mario and Wario soon organize the "Mushroom Kingdom Clone Debate", hosted by Lakitu, to an audience of Mario, Wario and Yoshi clones left and right. As per debate tradition, both parties of Mario and Wario will have to present their case as to why the clones should join either side. First it is Mario's turn. Mario promises the usual party, with all sorts of fun games, listed by Mario. Then, Wario rebuffs him, promising all the money, being all set, regularly spending and earning money very easily (really stealing, pillaging and swindling money). Mario annoyedly claims Wario's campaign is terrible, and the two get into an intense argument, riling up the crowd of clones. Offstage, the Meme Guardians watch the chaos slowly unfold, so SMG3 tells SMG4 to use his fourth wall technique to find Luigi. SMG4 does just that, but is unsuccessful. SMG3 steps in, loudly saying "Green Mario says what?!", which not only stops the commotion, but also alerts the others to Luigi's location, which is the back of the room, hiding behind the back row, with the cloning gun in hand. Both 4 and 3 run up to him, promising to set things right, using the gun on one of the Marios, only for him to multiply. To his shock, the cloning gun doesn't have the option to un-clone them. SMG3 is irate, but soon stops when he sees one of the Warios with his date, trying to charm her with his smell, but all it does is light the wick on her head. SMG3 is utterly devastated with this, despite SMG4 assuring him that he can replace his bomb girlfriend, yet SMG3 says it's not possible, even through cloning.
Upon hearing the word of cloning, SMG4 gets an idea. Setting the gun to create more clones, he shoots SMG3's date with it, creating even more clones of her, with SMG4 saying everyone gets a free date. All of the clones get a still lit bomb, celebrating, much to Mario, Wario and Yoshi's confusion. SMG4, SMG3 and Luigi all take cover for the impending explosion, which occurs, killing off all the clones. This leaves both Mario and SMG3 shocked, now that they have no party friends and date, respectively. Luigi tries lifting their spirits by assuring that they don't need clones or dates to be happy, because they have friends, which are truly best. SMG4 is moved by these words, but they do next to nothing for SMG3 and Mario, who sing about being alone, before breaking down.

Trivia[]
- Despite being uploaded the day after the holiday occurred, this episode is kind of Valentine's Day related due to SMG4 & SMG3 having pretend girlfriends.
- This is the first episode since SMG4: No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie to use "SMG4:" in the video title, exactly 11 months minus 1 day after its release.
- This episode can be seen as a counterbalance to SM64 Bloopers: Luigi Labyrinth & SMG4: The Weegee Uprising, as only Luigi caused a mass uprising by making copies of him. Now Mario, Wario and Yoshi have done the same thing as Luigi.
- This is the first episode to feature voice clips from Kevin Afghani as Luigi.
- It's the first episode to not be produced by Kevin Lerdwichagul, nor to have him directly involved in the making of the episode, since his writing debut back in 2016, almost 9 years prior.
- Running gag: "Now neither of will be virgins!"
- This is Wario's first major role since SMG4: MAR10 DAY, almost two years prior.
- SMG4 breaks the fourth wall by telling the audience to find Luigi a few times.
- This video was used for 'Test & Compare' testing where 2 thumbnails were tested to see what gets the better impression over viewers, which means that after only minutes after the episode's release, the thumbnail got changed to its current one.
- The last episode to do so is Mr Puzzles' Lowest Point.
- The original thumbnail featured clones of Waluigi, while he doesn’t actually get cloned in the video, nor take part in the minigame the video's based on. Also, it features the original Peach's Castle, which was already destroyed almost 2 years ago. Despite these, this thumbnail is currently being used.
- Similarly to the last point, this video uses the "A/B Thumbnail Testing" feature:
- One group of viewers sees a thumbnail, and another group sees an alternative one.
- Every now and then, the thumbnail switches between the two images depending on which one would get the most impressions.
- This is the first episode to have this feature, also making it the one with the most thumbnail changes in the history of the series (6).
- The episode is inspired by 2008 Eddsworld episode called "Spares".
References[]
- Super Mario 64 DS: The plot of the episode is based on the minigame Wanted!. Additionally the clones in the episode are all the playable characters in the game.
- The Simpsons: The episode may also be inspired by the Treehouse of Horror segment, "Send in the Clones", which also features clones of the main character causing havoc.
- SpongeBob SquarePants: When Mario keeps getting turned down to hang out with any of his friends, he makes the sad face meme from the episode "Christmas Who?" (which is referred to as "Spunch Bop").
- Mario & Luigi: Brothership: Luigi pulls out a Luigi Logic, one of the main mechanics of the game at the 1:30 minute mark.
- Family Guy: Four Mario clones sing Megalovania together in a quartet, referencing the Four Peters meme.
- Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus: When all of Mario's clones got multiplied by fours, He says the following: "Watch helplessly as I begin... PHASE TWO!!!", which is similar to Zim saying that exact same thing.
- The Amazing World of Gumball: When one of the Mario clones spots Swagmaster's tank, he makes the battle cry noise that Gumball made in the episode "The Traitor" when he spots Alan driving with his parents.
- World War Z: In one scene, the Mario clones scramble and stack together as they climb a pillar, similar to how some zombies climbed a tall wall in this film.
