Synopsis[]
Mario tries out different simulator games to find a job he's good at.
Plot[]
Prologue[]
When Mario crashed into in the castle to get his friends to go out on an adventure with him, his friends were uninterested, all of them returning to their everyday activities. When Mario then began to bother them, Saiko asked if he could get a job, to which he replied that he was a public liability. This made his friends bring Mario to go to see Karen, the employment counselor. When it looked like Karen was not listening to them at first, she would later turn her monitor and pressed a button on her computer to teleport Mario into a job simulators and his job search has begun.
Farming Simulator[]
Mario found himself in Steve's Corn Farm, where Rob greeted him and told him he would be helping with field work. Instead, Mario found a tractor and wanted to go on a joyride with it, but after Rob's warnings he then did the field work. Still wanting to ride the tractor despite the tough field work he had to go through, Rob finally relented if Mario could grow wheat. He planted the wheat seeds and expected it to grow immediately, but upon learning that it needed 90 days to grow, he decided to skip time by bringing up some text to show "90 Days Later", to which the wheat was ready for harvest. Excited, Mario hopped on the tractor and harvested the wheat but he did not notice he ran over Rob.
City Simulator[]
Mario had built a big city on his own, and has become its mayor, but after getting bored he decided to delete it, sending in natural disasters to destroy it and the citizens.
Microsoft Flight Simulator[]
An announcement from the pilot Mario came as he is flying today from Mushroom City-Metro International Airport, taking the Boeing 747 up to the skies. During the flight, Mario saw rings of coins and decided to go through the rings, flying in barrel rolls that caused the passengers to roll over, probably due to not wearing their seat-belts onboard. Eventually, as the barrel rolls go to fast, it created enough energy for the rolling Boopkins to break a hole in the aircraft's body, causing passengers to fly out, as Mario noticed the falling passengers as birds. Despite his reckless flying, he managed to arrive at the Delfino Airstrip on Isle Delfino safely, as the passengers that flew out finally smacked the ground of the airstrip.
Power Wash Simulator[]
Mario plays around with the power washer. As Karen accidentally spilt coffee on her clothes, Mario attempted to wash it out by spraying the power washer at the stain. However, this sent Karen flying into a wall, with the stain still on, and in retaliation, Karen slapped Mario. Seeing Mario with the power washer, F.L.U.D.D. thought that he was cheating with it and slapped Mario.
Rock Simulator 2014[]
With Mario as a rock, he started singing a Polish song called Po Twojej Pysznej Zupie by Pinigelis, until another rock called Rock Johnson showed up to tell him that he is not supposed to talk but Mario ignores him and sings the song again but faster speed. When Mario ignored him, Rock Johnson launched a sonic shockwave to stop him while it unleashes destruction elsewhere. As Mario was forced to be a rock, he found Wario with his car broken down and decided to play a prank. Disguising himself as the voice of God, he told Wario that he would be single forever, causing him to run away in sadness. Laughing at it, Rock Johnson told him off, and again had to tell off Mario to be a rock. When Mario was hungry, he was told by Rock Johnson that rocks do not eat. Giving up, he decided to fly away in a jetpack to eat spaghetti at a different place.
Dovetail Games Train Simulator Classic[]
Mario was conducting a cargo train from a train station. As a Heavy was late, Mario closed the door on him, and later taunted him. This angered the Heavy, so he decided to step on the tracks of the oncoming train Mario was conducting. The Heavy wanted to stop the train with his bare hands, with Mario putting the train at high speeds to ram him, which the Heavy was ran over in the end.
Goat Simulator[]
When Mario thought that being a goat was boring, he decided to cause mayhem in a city. When he jaywalked, however, a police squad led by Hal Monitor arrived to stop him, but a single roast by Mario caused a shockwave to destroy the squad and then flew off.
PC Building Simulator[]
Mario has failed in building his computer.
Euro Truck Simulator 2[]
Mario was driving a truck along a Francisco Fajardo highway to deliver a ramp. After 962 hours later, Mario got tired.
Universe Simulator[]
Mario, playing as God, decided to create a universe, which involves him using his powers that created a black hole that eventually sucked himself in.
Epilogue[]
In the real world, Mario, with the VR headset on, freaks out upon seeing the chaos unfolding before him in the simulator. With Saiko declaring him broken, Karen decided to bestow a badge to Mario, declaring him as the "Chief Idiot of the Mushroom Kingdom". As Mario took off the headset to see the badge, he was excited, finally getting the job as the episode ends with a cover of Ocean Man by Zahr Backbier playing.

Trivia[]
- As of mid-2024, it's the last If Mario Was In... episode.
- This episode was aired after the theatrical release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the United States.
- Although Mario had jobs before, there was actually a serious search for a job for Mario here. Additionally, Mario's job of working for SMG4 is not brought up.
- From the previous episode, Meggy climbed onto a long barbell to read.
- This maybe suggests that Luke intends to complete Meggy's college education in the near future.
- This is one of Meggy's few non-speaking roles in this episode.
- This is the possibly the first episode that James Bailey wasn’t apart of editing.
- Rock Johnson is a nod to Dwayne Johnson's known ring name, The Rock.
- This is one of few episodes that doesn't feature the usual outro music.
- Peach's Castle was given animated flags in this video.
- Colin Rodgers mentions that while Kevin Lerdwichagul wrote the intro and outro scenes, Colin himself wrote all the Sim skits for the episode.
- He also says that the fight choreography and emotional beats were his forte, while admitting that comedy was relatively new to him while he started writing for the series. He states that while he had enjoyment learning comedy, he wished that he could've written more emotional moments for the series.
- He also says that he popularized meta humor of the series around this time, as he mentioned that he used it a ton in his earlier scripts such as making Mario's hat a "magic satchel". Though he was aware that certain fans were annoyed of this type of humor popping up from time to time, apologizing to those that felt that way.
- Colin Rodgers mentions that the pre-roll of the episode, which promoted Genshin Impact, was one of the few pre-rolls he actually enjoyed writing.
- The scene of the train station starring Mario and Heavy was partially referenced to a video by Kitty0706, who Colin was heavily inspired from with his comedy.
- Colin also mentions that Team Fortress 2 was one of his favorite games and loves the SFM and GMOD content regarding the game.
- This is the first appearances of:
- Karen since Mario Does Pranks.
- Sergeant Mark and Admiral Greg since Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 11 ft. Meggy.
- Dr. Pootis since SMG4: Mario Goes To College and in Season 12.
- SpongeBob SquarePants since Mario Performs Video Game Glitches.
- Thomas the Tank Engine since Mario Reacts To Funny Tik Toks.
- The Train Simulator clip is from "[SFM] We like to party" made by an0nymooose on YouTube.
- The Microsoft Flight Simulator clip is from the Dancing plane meme
- The line "Say goodbye to daily stains" is taken from the "Kitchen Gun" skit from the British comedy sketch show "The Peter Serafinowicz Show"
- The plane used in the plane segment is most likely a Boeing 727-200 variant, as opposed to the -100, due to having a longer fuselage.
Music Used[]

Can I sing a song for you? |
This music list is incomplete and needs to be completed. Any user is obliged to do so. |
- 6:25 Polish toilet spin (Po twojej pysznej zupie)
- 11:28 "Ocean Man" (a song by Ween) cover by Zahr Backbier (from the video The Ultimate SpongeBob Squarepants Movie Recap) by Dutch Youtuber and animator Cas van de Pol.
References[]
- The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: The ending of the episode is a parody of the climax scene where Mr. Krabs gives SpongeBob the job as manager of the Krusty Krab 2 from this 2004 live-action/animated adventure comedy film directed by Stephen Hillenburg; starring the voices of Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke and Mr. Lawrence; produced by Nickelodeon Movies and United Plankton Pictures and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
- "Ocean Man" (a song by Ween) cover was made by Zahr Backbier, for the video The Ultimate SpongeBob Squarepants Movie Recap by Dutch Youtuber and animator Cas van de Pol.
- Additionally, a clip of SpongeBob appears in this episode.
- Final Destination and Final Destination 5: Mario's reckless plane driving caused Boopkins to fly out of the plane, which created a hole that caused the other passengers to fly out is a reference to the same thing that happened to the plane in the aforementioned 2000 supernatural horror film directed by James Wong (the latter 2011 film is a prequel to the former film), causing passengers in the plane to die. However, Boopkins and some passengers survived their predicament but died after they fell from the middle of the sky into the ground.
- End of the Line: The scene where Heavy tries to stop the train with his bare hands is a reference to a famous scene from this fan TF2 animation SFM by Youtuber McVee. The only difference is that Heavy got Medic support and the "Ubercharge" from his Medi Gun.
- Team Fabulous 2: From the same train scene, Heavy utters "do you remember vodka?", with Mario replying with "sphaghetti" via subtitles, referecing the famous quote from the late Kitty0706's Gmod animation. This episode was released during Team Fabulous 2's 10th anniversary, though 9 months after.
