SMG4: Stupid Paper Mario is the twenty-ninth episode of Season 7 and the three hundred and fifty-sixth overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.
Several Paper Mario characters such as Goombario and Kooper make their debut here. It was aired on July 22, 2017.
Synopsis
Mario has been turned to paper since SMG4 is too poor to fund his videos. Join Mario on his quest to save SMG4's poor ass by collecting some money!
Plot
This blooper begins with SMG4 yelling through the door and running out the computer room yelling "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! AUUUGH!!!". He then said that almost all of his money was gone. Luigi asked how it happened. SMG4 was worried and did not want to say the truth as in a flashback, the reason why he had almost no money left was that he wasted it all on a crane game trying to get Thomas the Tank Transformer but failed multiple times. Without any money, SMG4 was forced to lower the quality of his videoes. Mario interrupted that nobody cared. However, he then immediately turned into his Paper Mario 64 version. Luigi then turned into Louise. Toad proceeded to laugh at the Mario Bros.'s misfortunate before turning into a picture of a fungus. Both Wario and Yoshi immediately turned into a bootlegged Yoshi and a Microsoft Paint Wario respectively. As Mario thought it was not that bad, an 8-bit version of Peach Toadstool showed up commenting on how beautiful her 8-bit self-looked. Mario immediately changed his mind and told SMG4 to just use Peach's money, but the YouTuber, who had been transformed into his YouTube profile pic taped to a popsicle stick said he could not use the fake money in the castle. As it turned out, the coins suddenly became Monopoly play money. Mario then offered to leave the castle to find real money to save SMG4's career. As he left the castle, everything started to drop in quality.
With a screen transition of that from a Paper Mario game, Mario soon found a Question Mark block. Knowing they yield money, Mario hit it, just for the same fake money to come out. He soon came across a barn and entered it in hope of money. In it were two Goombas, Goompapsta and Goombario. The former welcomed Mario to the barn and explained to the plumber that they were not like the other Goombas, just to be ground-pounded by Mario who hoped for money to come out. He recovered with no injury and proceeded to hammer Mario in retaliation. Goombario then recognized him and told Goompapsta that his friend Goombs told him about Mario. Goombario told his gramps that Mario might be the solution to their rascal problem. Goompapsta tried explaining to Mario the problem but started going drunk after a while. Goombario then came in to simplify the problem to Mario: The other Goombas kept playing with their crops. They would have tried to stop them themselves but as they also turned into paper, they would not stand a chance. Mario liked the idea of helping them but wanted money. Goombario said that the Goombas might have money, to which Mario immediately went off to fight one of the Goombas in a Paper Mario battle style. With that, Goompapster explained that Mario and the enemy would take turns to fight but Mario immediately killed most of the Goombas, which pissed him off due to Mario not taking turns. As he multibounced off several Goombas, he jumped on a Goomba with a Tomahawk hairstyle, which caused Mario to jump off in pain. Seeing that Mario needed help, Goombario immediately threw Mario the hammer to help deal with the Goomba. Mario took it and knocked off the hair-style, which shocked the Goomba to no end. Sadly for Mario, none of the Gommbas had any money. Goombario asked Goompapster if he could join Mario in solving the paper issue, to which the latter replied that he did not care. Mario now had a party member whose ability was his signature Tattle ability, although in this case as a joke, Goombario said he only knew Mario was thinking of food from the saliva drooling from his mouth. Mario, being the typical idiot that he was, thought it was revolutionary.
As both of them went towards Koopa Village, Mario was blocked by a signpost leading to the village. Rather than sidestep, he punched the sign out of the way. When they entered it, they saw a pile of Koopa Troopa hanging around a cage. Upon closer inspection, he saw who was the cage's prisoner, Kooper, who had also been the victim of the low-quality outbreak. The other Koopa Troopas wondered why he was like that with words like: "Is he sick???", "He has AIDS!!!", "Why is he paper??", "Nice ass.", "hes a witch!", and "HES EVIL!" One of the Koopas asked Dr. Mario what was the diagnosis, which resulted in Dr. Mario singing the You Have AIDS song from Family Guy accompanied by two Koopa Troopa who did the echoing of the chorus. Ten seconds into the song, however, Mario interrupted asking for money. Realizing that Mario was also paper, the village went into panic mode. Kooper then asked Mario and Goombario if they could free him to which the plumber replied that because he was made of paper, he could simply slide through the holes of the cage. Four seconds passed before Kooper realized the logic behind Mario's answer and said "F*** you!" to him for not thinking of the answer himself. Goombario suggested explaining things to the villagers but they went so far as to bring in a tank to exterminate the "disease". Mario, whose idiocy had him saying that he loved to see more civilian casualties, had both Koopers and Goombario questioning what he just said. Soon after, Mario threw the hammer at the tank to blow it up. Kooper used his Power Shell ability to take out more Koopa Troopas before returning back to his regular form near Dr. Mario, who was still singing You have AIDS to kick him in the nether region. Goombario was surrounded by two Koopa Troopas but used his Tattle ability to escape. In this case, he used it to reveal to Jeff's friend that he used his friend's toothbrush to clean his toilet. Pissed off, Jeff's friend proceeded to beat up Jeff for that, allowing Goombario to escape. The Koopa Bros. suddenly appeared and using their squad powers, they managed to summon a giant gun. Mario was not letting them use it and proceeded to turn into a ball of paper and entered the gun, jamming the weaponry and causing it to explode, taking the Koopa Bros. with them. With that done, Mario declared that he protected the innocent. He was immediately proven wrong when Parakarry came up and was shocked to see everyone dead. Despite all that fighting, Mario still needed money. In gratitude for freeing him, Kooper offered to lead Mario and Goombario to a fabled cave that held treasure and said that he could also retrieve things. Mario, being the typical lazy person, thought of the retrieving as having him throw the remote control even though all Mario had to do was get up from the sofa, accepted Kooper's offer.
Later at the cave entrance, with Mario being dragged on the floor by Goombario to the cave, Kooper mentioned that it was dangerous because several people entered the cave but never made it out. He then added that since he hated all of them, he did not care. Inside the cave, they came across a broken bridge. Mario had a brainwave: turn into a paper airplane and fly them across the bridge. They tried that but they were deemed too heavy and they all fell down. Soon, they encountered a flame. Attempting to do a sneak attack from the back, Mario proceeded to hammer it but he then caught fire and had to be dragged away from the flame. After some time, Goombario asked if they were lost. Mario replied that they were not and proved it with a nearby map. However, it said that they were pretty lost, causing Mario to ask if they all wanted to cry. Kooper apologized for getting them lost, which Mario brushed it off saying he got lost in the bathrooms all the time. Just after he said that a shadowy figure appeared and started growling, scaring the party. Wanting to not be its meal, Mario offered Goombario as a sacrifice as he was a child, to which Goombario protested. When that failed, Mario told Kooper to use his special attack but all he did was to soil his pants, which Mario excitedly realize that was also his special move. The thing then pinned Mario down, who thought he was done for. However, it turned out to be very friendly and that it had not seen humans for the past 1000 years, meaning according to Goombario, it was forgotten since the ancient times of the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario decided to play with it by using Kooper as a toy for the thing, Chompers, which the chain chomper happily chased after, much to the horror of Kooper. He later escaped from Chompers without his shell. Goombario then asked where was the treasure to which the chain chomp replied it would take them to it because the humans forgot to take their money with them. With that, Chomps joined the party although Mario got squished from holding Chompers for too long.
Soon, Chompers led the party to the treasure, pushing Cleft and Fuzzy out of the way, and pushed Dr. Pootis in his Magnus von Grapple into a pit. They soon reached the treasure where an explorer was about to uncover the treasure but got squished by Chomps. Mario opened the chest and found 25 real coins. The party celebrated their success by singing We Did It! but suddenly, the effects of SMG4 being on a budget caught up with them, turning Goombario into a derpy looking Goombario, Kooper into a Microsoft Paint version of himself, and Chompers turning into a paper version of itself. With that, Mario quickly took both Goombario and Kooper and told Chompers to head to Peach's castle, bypassing an even uglier version of Wario, Toadsworth, a Bullet Bill, and a Shy Guy. SMG3 as his paper-self tried to halt the group but he was run over. Just before reaching the castle which was now a version done in Microsoft Paint, Mario turned into an even lower quality version of himself while Chompers turned into a Microsoft Paint version of himself. As Mario headed towards the castle, he had become a lower quality of himself. Inside the castle, Peach, Luigi, and Toad had already become Microsoft Paint versions of themselves. As he quickly rushed to SMG4's room, he dropped in quality until it suddenly became real life. Mario, now a plush version of himself, hurried over to SMG4, who was now his real-life self using a fake computer. Mario quickly tossed SMG4 the coins he found in the cave. Seeing that he has gotten actual money, it allowed him to make videoes again. This caused the entire Mushroom Kingdom to be restored back to normal. He wanted to give Mario a high-five but Mario punched him, telling him to go get a job.
The video ended with SMG4 wasting the money Mario found on crane games again and became a hobo.
