The Day My Arm Went Psycho is the seventh episode of Season 14 of the SMG4 series, the six hundred and fiftieth within the SMG4 series, and the eight hundred and sixty-seventh video overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.
This is the first episode to feature Tari's new voice actress, Lottie Bourne as well as the proper debut of Tari's sentient cybernetic arm, Clench. The video was uploaded on February 24, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Something's up with Tari's arm
Plot[]
The episode begins with Tari in the SMG4 castle, startled, as a dark figure is walking towards to her and asks for Tari's name. The dark figure then asks if she thinks she has what it takes, to which Tari replies that she hopes so. After that, she is asked what her skills are, and Tari responds with, “ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!” It is then revealed that the dark figure is actually Meggy, and Tari is preparing for her upcoming job interview. Tari wants get a job because she wants be like Meggy, and Mario turns into a sunflower, and says, “you're doing good lad!” Meggy sprays water on Mario, and he barks in anger. Tari, stating that after seeing Meggy succeed at so many things over the years, such as a Splatfest World Champion, a lawyer, and a coach, while Mario says, “NERD!” Meggy sprays the water gun, and it was so powerful, that it sent Mario into the wall. Meggy says that next time it won't be water, and Tari says that a job is a good way to start. Meggy makes Tari practice, by making her say her job title which is a “professional business person”. Then, Mario asked her to become a "super pizza maker" instead, but Tari just slapped Mario by accident due to the fact she lost control of her prosthetic arm. Meggy states that she didn't know she had it in her to do that, but her prosthetic arm tried to slapped Meggy. Meggy tries with all her might, but the arm somehow turns into a boxing glove, sending Meggy flying into a plane. Tari says that she is sorry, and ran to the bathroom to try to understand what happened with her. Suddenly, her left arm just begins talking. She tries running away from her own arm (why, it's attached to you), and her prosthetic arm shushes her. Her arm says that before she freaks out, she's not dreaming, it's not a ghost, it's not God, it's not Santa, it's not her Jiminy Cricket, and she doesn't have schizophrenia; it thinks. At first, Tari is out-of-sorts about this, but she begins to kind of warm up to her hand, who later names (him?)self Clench. Then, Tari remembers her interview and wants to go home and prepare, much against the plans of Clench wanting to touch a lot of things.
After (finally) getting home, Tari barely gets to catch her breath, as Clench immedietely goes to check out all the stuff in her room (while saying, the room screams "I'm a shut-in, and I've accomplished nothing with my life") and throwing a tie away, that Tari wanted to put on, stating that he's not hungry. Tari, annoyed by him, tries to make some tea for herself, which goes horribly wrong due to Clench dropping the boiling kettle on Tari's foot, causing her to scream in pain (Clench however assumed she spoke French). Fed up, Tari covers up Clench with a glove while brushing her teeth, saying she'll take it off if he stopped talking forever. After no response, Tari uncovers Clench, whose eyes fall on a rubber duck (or is it Archibald?), desperately getting the need to see real ducks. After an encounter outside with Mario (who creates Mini Mario as a way to copy Tari), Tari pinkie-promises to go to the Zoo with him IF he behaves during the interview, with Clench agreeing.
At the interview, Tari meets Mumbo Jumbo (who receives a slap AND an insult by Clench right off the bat). Then, the interview begins and when Tari wants to talk about the experience she has, Clench begins to act out and imitates Tari's Voice to say bad stuff, throw a pen, that Tari was supposed to sell to Mumbo for the Test, to a helicopter, blowing it up. For the final test, Bob Bobowski comes in for "Corperate Roasting Time", roasting Tari about her obsession with Ducks, how she plays games all day and her inability to do finances, resulting in a Tari suffering with beeg sad. Clench, fed up with Bob, hits him with "Who asked", causing Bob to seize existence. Mumbo is not happy about it because Bob was his best employee, and Tari ends up not getting the job.
At the Zoo, Tari tells Clench, he messed up her interview, made her fail the tests and thanks her for standing up for her and also says that she should've listened to him from the beginning. In the same Zoo, Mario gets in trouble because Mr Monkey finds interest in Mini Mario and gets beaten up by Mr Monkey after Mini Mario calls him an ugly ass Monkey. Tari comes to help and with the help of Clench (who discovers his ability to hear the animal's thoughts), they calm down the Monkey. Realizing her ability to talk to animals with Clench and after receiving Cheers from the Zoo, Tari accepts a job as an animal whisperer.

- As of this episode, Tari is now voiced by Lottie Bourne, succeeding Celeste Notley-Smith.[1]
- Although, Notley-Smith's archive voice clips can be heard during Clench's touching stuff scene.
- However, Notley-Smith claimed that she was not made aware of this change, which was further backed up by voice director Jasmine Yang stating that she forgot to notify Notley-Smith. After being informed by David J.G. Doyle of this event and also Mario fans and SMG4 fans accusing the team of firing Notley-Smith, Robyn Barry-Cotter expressed disapproval toward Glitch Productions and immediately announced her resignation from the voice role of SMG2 on X as a result.[2] Barry-Cotter proceeded to upload a video criticizing the actions of Glitch Productions to her YouTube channel Anime America the following day.[3] She did also say that she loved the time she did voice SMG2. Eventually, David J.G. Doyle would also come forward to criticize Glitch Productions on X[4] and later ended his ties with Glitch afterwards.
- Notley-Smith and Barry-Cotter know why the former was replaced, but have yet to share the reason.
- Notley-Smith later revealed because according to Jasmine, she believed Notley-Smith was not as available as they needed despite her never missing a single deadline barring quarantine.
- Tari's arm has gotten itself a name, Clench.
- For a month, it was unknown which member of ZAMination voices Clench. However, a few fans have been guessing that it was either Micah or Zachary Preciado, one of the writers of this episode.
- It was finally revealed that it was Zachary Preciado who voiced Clench in the episode credits of SMG4: No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie.
