SMG4 X Meta Runner Merch Promo[]
(Luke is dancing to the Wii Shop Channel theme until he is suddenly tackled by Kevin.)
Kevin: What up, guy- (Lands on the sofa wrong.) Oh, crap. What's up?
Luke: So, we have a very important announcement to make.
Kevin: We have designed these SMG4 X Meta Runner cross promotional merchandise! If you check it out, you have the Meta Runner Tari alongside SMG4 Tari. They're acting like best friends. to hype up Meta Runner, and because all of you guys are such big SMG4 fans, we thought we'd have this special shirt just for you guys!
Luke: But that's not all.
Kevin: We also have an SMG4 X Meta Runner poster.
Luke: On the poster, we have Meta Runner Tari on the right side, and SMG4 Tari on the left. Two worlds joined together.
Kevin: The title of this poster is "You're Never Too Old", because the idea is you are never too old to play video games. Just like you have Meta Runner Tari and SMG4 Tari both there holding their controllers...
Luke: Being best friends.
Kevin: Being amazing! It is only up for a limited stock. We only have a limited amount of these leading up to the release of Meta Runner.

Luke: It's time to go onto the video! WOO! (He falls over on the sofa as Kevin whacks him with a big Mario plush.)
Episode Transcript[]
(We start at Peach's Castle, where Luigi is watching a dancing Garfield.)
Luigi: Oohohahaha! Oh yeah!
(His enjoyment is interrupted when he hears some sort of commotion going on outside.)
Luigi: Waaah! Huh? Mama Mia...
(He goes out to investigate...)
Luigi: Hmm! Oh wow...
(...And sees Meggy building some kind of treehouse.)
Luigi: Huh? Uhh hey Meggy. What are you doing?
Meggy: Making a treehouse.
Luigi: Oh okay... why?
Meggy: Why not?
Luigi: Riiight.
(Luigi climbs up to the treehouse.)
Luigi: Hi. Are you feeling okay?
Meggy: Of course. Why wouldn't I be?
Luigi: Hmm. Well, it's just that I thought you'd be training for Splatfest or something.
(The word "Splatfest" is enough to cause Meggy to drop her hammer and start getting flashbacks from SMG4: World War Mario.)
Desti: You better win Splatfest for me, okay?
(It cuts back to reality.)
Luigi: Meggy, you okay?
Meggy: (Grief Stage 1: Denial.) EVERYTHING'S FINE!
Luigi: Okay.
(Meggy punches Luigi out of the treehouse.)
Luigi: Mama Mia! Somethings wrong with Meggy. I'm going to need help on this.
Meggy: Uh, bye!
(Luigi pushes Mario and punches him to wake him up.)
Luigi: Mario!
Mario: Woah! Hey Luigi, how are you?
Luigi: Theres something wrong with Meggy
(Meggy is shown "building" her treehouse.)
Mario: What? She seems fine. Hey Meggy!
(Meggy throws a wrench at Mario.)
Mario: See? Shes fine!
Luigi: Oh man... I really hope so bro...
Mario: Here, look...I'll prove it to you.
(Mario shakes the treehouse.)
Mario: HEY MEGGY! COME HERE! MARIO WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!
(The treehouse begins to fall down. Meggy screams and falls on the ground with the treehouse.)
Luigi: Wah! Meggy!
(Meggy gets up mad...)
Mario: Hey, Luigi says you acting funny. Everything ok Meggy? Whats wrong with you?
Luigi: Uhh Mario I think we're in trouble.
(Meggy is still pissed...)
Mario: What makes you say that?
(Meggy enters stage two of grief: Anger. She charges her Splatershot and shoots it at Mario and Luigi as they run and freak out.)
Meggy: (Gets her Roller out.) Time to die!
Mario and Luigi: Aaaaaah!!! Oh my god!! Ahhh!!
Meggy: Why are you running! Why are you running?
Mario: Don't worry, bro. Whats the worst she can do?
(Meggy throws a Splat Bomb at Mario and Luigi.)
Mario: Wow, what an asshole!
(The Splat Bomb explodes and Mario and Luigi fall.)
Luigi: Meggy! Please! Stop! We're your friends!
(Meggy aims and shoots her Splattershot at Luigi's nuts.)
Luigi: Oh god!
Mario: Run, bitch! RUN!
(Mario and Luigi are inside of Peach's Castle, when suddenly Luigi hears something. Meggy breaks the door down with her car.)
Meggy: Get back here!
(Mario and Luigi run from Meggy's insanity until they run up to the second floor. Mario and Luigi lock and barricade the doors with furniture and Toads.)
Luigi: Oh man, she must be really upset!
Mario: I know right, usually she'd manage to get us by now.
(This gets jinxed by Meggy breaking the door.)
Meggy: Here's woomy!
Mario: Hey Meggy! How about a nice game of-
(Meggy grabs Mario by the neck.)
Meggy: You're dead, son!
(Mario screams.)
Luigi: Maaaaarrrrrioooo! OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!
(Luigi runs upstairs to the second floor.)
(We see Tari spending quality time with her boyfriend: Archibald.)
Tari: Would you like to play a relaxing game, Mr Archibald? Why yes I would, thank you young man.
(Tari sets the controller for them to both play a super happy and peaceful round of Dark Souls. Their date is interrupted by Luigi entering the room and screaming.)
Tari: What the?
Luigi: TARIIIIIII HEEELP MEEEEE
Tari: Huh?
(Meggy barges into the room yelling like a maniac. Tari and Luigi scream.)
Meggy: DAT ASS!
(She lunges at them. But upon seeing Tari's boyfriend, Meggy is filled with jealousy, pushing her stage three of grief: Bargaining.)
Tari: Meggy?
Meggy: AWWW... HOW CUUUUUTE!
Tari: Uhh, Meggy? Are you okay?
Luigi: No! Meggy's been acting weird all day!
Meggy: HOW MUCH FOR IT?!
Tari: Huh? What? Archibald isn't for sale...
Meggy: WHAT DO YOU MEAN!? I NEED HIM! HERE TAKE MY MONEY!
Tari: Watch out!
Meggy: PLEAAASE I NEED IT. I'LL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT!!! HERE TAKE EVERYTHING!
(She goes over to a chest and starts hurling its contents at them.)
Tari: Meggy, what's gotten into you?!
[Mario in a wheelchair comes downstairs.]
Mario: Meggy's been acting crazy all day. She must've eaten a poison mushroom. (Gets hit with coins.)
Meggy: I NEED THE DUUUUUUUUUCK
Luigi: Hmmm... GUYS....
Tari: Huh?
Luigi: I think I know why Meggys been this way...
Meggy: Please! I beg youuuuuu!
Luigi: It's been one month since...
Tari: Oh no!
Mario: Since... SINCE WHAT?!
Tari: (Sighs.) Since Desti...
Mario: Oh.. that would explain what happened yesterday...
(We enter a flashback of the previous day, when Mario and Meggy are in Inkopolis, picking out clothes.)
Mario: Meggy! Can we go home now? I'ma tired.
Meggy: Wait. I'm almost done--
(Meggy notices the sweater that looks like the one Desti used to wear and begins to have flashbacks.)
Mario: Umm...hello?
(Flashback ends.)
Luigi: Hey Meggy, we understand why you're upset.
Meggy: Upset? I'm perfectly happy! See? (Her fake smile and crazed laughter suggests otherwise.)
Tari: Meggy it's okay to be upset. You don't have to keep acting like this.
Mario: Yea, Mario says you should never bottle up your emotions.
Luigi: Mario's right-
(Mario freaks out at Luigi simply putting a hand on his shoulder and then stops.
Mario: See? Like that!
Tari: We know it's been tough since Desti died, but-
Meggy: WHAT?! That was ages ago, I already got over that. SO STOP SAYING I'M UPSET YOU JERKS! Seriously, what can I do to prove I'm not upset?! I just...
(Meggy finally snaps out of her insanity and begins to cry.)
Meggy: I miss her...
(Meggy leaves.)
Tari: Wait!
Luigi: Lets just give her a moment first...
(Mario turns around and sees coins.)
Mario: OOooh! Coins!
(Tari and Luigi turn to look at Mario.)
Tari: Mmm...
Luigi: Mama mia...
(We see Meggy at her house. She is now in stage four of grief: Depression. She looks up at a picture of Desti sitting on a shelf. After a minute of silence, Mario opens the door.)
Mario: Hey Meggy...you feel better?
Meggy: Mmm....
(Luigi peeks in.)
Luigi: You wanna talk about it?
(Meggy silently sits up on the sofa.)
Meggy: I just really miss her...
(Tari sits down next to her and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder.)
Tari: It's ok...we miss her too.. We can miss her together...
Meggy: What's even worse is I told her I'm going to win Splatfest... But I've just been so down lately I have no motivation to train or do anything...
(Tari suddenly wraps her arms around her.)
Tari: It will be ok. Just give it time. You'll get back into the swing of things.
(And with that, Meggy silently returns the embrace, thus moving into the final and best stage of grief: Acceptance. Mario is touched by this too, as he tackles Luigi for a hug. Meggy and Tari eventually release from their embrace.)
Luigi: You know how we honour Desti's sacrifice for us?
Meggy: How?...
Luigi: We live our own lives the best we can! I think the only way we could disappoint Desti is if we didn't live our lives 110%
Mario: Yeah! That's why Mario always eats an extra plate of spaghetti for dinner now. In memory of Desti...
(Meggy chuckles at this.)
Tari: Seriously Meggy, do you think Desti sacrificed herself just for you to feel sad?
Meggy: N-no...
Luigi: Are you going to live your life to the fullest?
Meggy: Yes!
Mario: And how are you going to do that?
Meggy: I'M GOING TO WIN SPLATFEST!
(Everyone cheers.)
Meggy: And you guys are going to be on my team again!
Mario and Luigi: Yaah. Yippee. Oh yeah haha
Meggy: And I'm going to put you guys through my hardest training regime yet!
Mario: Yahoooo...
Luigi: Ohhh let's go...
Meggy: We're going to make Desti proud and train! And train! And train! And train!
Mario: I think I liked it better when she was crying.
Meggy: (Shoves her friends out the door.) LET'S GO! WE CAN STILL GET IN 15 HOURS TRAINING IF WE SKIP DINNER AND SLEEP!
Mario: But the next Splatfest is ages away!!!
Meggy: Who cares!
(And so, Meggy, Mario, Luigi and Tari set out to begin vigorously training for the final Splatfest as we get one last lingering shot of Desti's picture on the shelf...)
