Dubbed as the "ultimate" WOTFI, this edition is time travel-themed, as Mr. Puzzles tries to correct his wrongs by changing the past using the YouTube Remote. It also serves as a tribute to the SMG4 series. The video was uploaded on October 25, 2025.

Plot[]
| “ |
"Meggy! I've wronged you more than I could ever atone for. We'll never be friends... and maybe that's how it always had to end... but if my leaving brings you even an inkling of peace... then at least I did one thing right..." |
” | —Mr. Puzzles offering his final words to Meggy Spletzer for all the torment he caused to her and her friends. | ||
Intro[]
War Of The Fat Italians 2025 begins where the last episode left off, with Mr. Puzzles ready to travel back in time using the YouTube Remote. However, he briefly recapped the events leading up to this moment, starting from the aftermath of SMG4 Movie: Guns N' Puzzles when Mr. WPNZ, Toomp, and Meggy each permanently severed their ties with him as a result of his actions. At the "Nowhere Left to Go" bar, Mr. Puzzles took out the bullet that Mr. WPNZ gave to him right after the prison breakout, which reminded him of the good times he had with WPNZ and Toomp, and when combined with the clock on the bar wall had motivated him to travel back in time in an effort to right his wrongs. Following the recap, Mr. Puzzles was seemingly shot "dead" by Mr. WPNZ (with Toomp as a makeshift gun), only to taunt them for not waiting until the third act to kill him. During the resulting scuffle between Mr. WPNZ, Toomp, and the SMG4 Crew, Mr. Puzzles activated the YouTube Remote to go back in time, officially commencing the events of this ultimate WOTFI.
Challenges[]
Escape the Loose Chain Chomp based off of Who let the chomp out? (2014)[]
Mr. Puzzles, SMG4, and Mario find themselves in one of the earlier bloopers, "Who Let the Chomp Out?" Initially, Mr. Puzzles was clueless about when he ended up, until Mario let them all know of the angry Chain Chomp from that episode. Puzzles then tried to get them back to the correct time, until he realized that he did not have the YouTube Remote with him. Moments later, out of panic, he threw SMG4 into the peg keeping the Chain Chomp in place, setting it loose to roam around the Mushroom Kingdom.
As Mario, SMG4, and Mr. Puzzles ran from the Chain Chomp, a series of recurring characters from earlier episodes in the SMG4 series manifested into existence, including Steve, Tinky Winky, and the Weegee Dolls. They later hid in an alley, until Classic Bob alerted the Chain Chomp to their location via his story. Captain Steve swooped in to save them, only to later get arrested for being a pervert. As the Chain Chomp cornered the three, they bolted for a Warp Pipe until a Gourmet Guy, accompanied by the Piranha Plants Stu and Pid, forced them to turn towards a nearby portal.
Get to Didney Worl based off of Mario's Road Trip (2017)[]
The portal forced Mario, SMG4, and Mr. Puzzles into their car from R64: Mario’s Road Trip, with Mr. Puzzles replacing Toad in the back seat. While they approached Didney Worl, where the next portal was located, the three argued and fought via Quick Time events, until they found themselves getting ambushed by Mr. WPNZ and Toomp. Due to their clever dodging, they were able to unlock a “secret mode” that spawned Toads on the road, but the pursuers plowed through nonetheless. SMG4 suddenly remembered that the trunk of the car was full of spaghetti, so he got Mario to open said trunk, sending pasta all over Mr. WPNZ and Toomp as they escaped via Didney Worl.
Win Splatfest based off of Meggy's Destiny (2020)[]
Upon exiting the portal, Mario and Mr. Puzzles stumbled across Meggy, Luigi, and Tari in the Splatfest from SMG4 Movie: Meggy’s Destiny, where Mr. Puzzles took the place of Team Killer Ink’s leader, and Mario, Meggy, Luigi, and Tari comprised Team Splatsquad like in the movie. Despite warnings from Meggy about messing with time, Mr. Puzzles ignored her anyways by ordering Team Killer Ink to attack her. Mario and Meggy then pursued Mr. Puzzles across the battlefield and fired ink at him, only for the TV-headed character to respond with his own ink blast that sent Mario flying into a door that closed on his pingas. Like the previous challenges, past events begin to merge together, with doors slamming on the pingases of every other male character besides Mr. Puzzles, including Tari’s robotic left hand Clench. Nevertheless, Meggy eventually cornered Mr. Puzzles, expressing her disapproval at Puzzles for his reckless manipulation of time to correct his past mistakes, she prepares to shoot him with ink, until he redirected the shot into the judges to disqualify Team Splatsquad and escape via another portal. Puzzles responses that he had no choice and insists that only he can determine the morality of his actions, claiming that he must fix the past.
Solve the Equation/Don’t Die based off of If Mario was in... Baldi's Basics (2018)/MARIO'S CHALLENGE (2017)[]
Mr. Puzzles then found himself inside the school from If Mario was in Baldi’s Basics, alongside SMG4, Mario, and SMG3. Mario was seated at a desk in front of Baldi, who presented him with the very easy math equation of 1 + 2. Understandably, Mario lacked the necessary IQ to comprehend basic addition, so he panicked at the idea of figuring out the answer to this simple problem. Mr. Puzzles gave the correct answer of 3, before seeing that Mr. WPNZ changed the equation last-minute into something far more complicated. Punished for giving the “wrong answer,” Mr. Puzzles, SMG4, Mario, and SMG3 were forced to do a section of the obstacle course from The Mario Channel: Mario’s Challenge, where the goal is to climb up the slope and reach the top within 1:30 as Baldi threw lots of characters at them.
Mario decided to run up the slope, using Mr. Puzzles as a baseball bat to deflect the chickens, Teletubbies, and other characters sent towards them. Angry over their survival, Mr. WPNZ retaliated by firing a blast from Toomp. SMG3 pulled SMG4 aside to propose dealing with Baldi and Mr. WPNZ in what he knew best – a therapy session. While the session did not go so well, it did buy enough time for Mario, Mr. Puzzles and SMG4 to escape from the obstacle course with their adversaries distracted.
Survive the Night based off of Freddy's spaghettiria (2014)[]
Mr. Puzzles and SMG4 subsequently found themselves inside the security office of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where the events of R64: Freddy’s Spaghettiria took place. Although SMG4 was obviously terrified about the animatronics of this place, Mr. Puzzles was completely clueless about the threats they posed. It wasn’t until Mr. WPNZ came out of a music box and set the animatronics' aggression to the max, unleashing the crazed robots on the two.
Despite his fears, SMG4 came up with an idea on how to deal with the animatronics: placate them with their favorite food, pizza. While SMG4 cooked up some pizza, Mr. Puzzles managed the doors to the security office to keep Mr. WPNZ at bay, until WPNZ charged at him from behind. Fortunately, SMG4 had finished making him pizza around that time, so he threw it at Mr. WPNZ and let the animatronics know about that. Immediately transforming into some variations of Chica, the animatronics surrounded Mr. WPNZ and attempted to devour him alive as Mr. Puzzles and SMG4 narrowly escaped.
Take the YouTube Remote in The cake is a lie! (2011)[]
This took SMG4, Mario, and Mr. Puzzles back where it all started, at the setting of Peach’s Castle in The Cake is a Lie! Reminiscing on all the good memories involving the castle up until its destruction in It’s Gotta Be Perfect, SMG4 then snapped back to reality as Mr. Puzzles saw the YouTube remote, sitting at the front door of Peach’s Castle. Not wanting Mr. Puzzles to damage the timeline any further, SMG4 raced with him to get the remote, until Mr. WPNZ knocked them both aside. Now with the remote, Mr. WPNZ paused both SMG4 and Mr. Puzzles so he can finish off the TV head for good. Puzzles desperately pleads that he can still make changes for the sake of their friendship. WPNZ dismisses his claims, stating that him erasing his mistakes won't change who Puzzles truly is. SMG4 then gets Mario to throw Peach at him under the impression that Mr. WPNZ insulted his mustache. Unfortunately, this led to the remote malfunctioning as Mario, SMG4, Mr. Puzzles, Mr. WPNZ, and Toomp were sucked through one last portal to return to the present day. As they returned, SMG4 is moved to tears as he sees all the moments and experiences he had accumulated over the years.
Interval[]
Back in the Internet Archives, Mr. Puzzles dug up the broken YouTube remote from the debris and tried to shut it off, only for it to continue malfunctioning as it started opening portals to past SMG4 episodes. Seeing the portal to Guns N' Puzzles, Mr. Puzzles bolted for that world to escape from Mr. WPNZ, who was still angrily pursuing him. Mr. Puzzles finds himself transported back in time with Mr. WPNZ and Toomp as he drives the van. While on the road, he receives his voicemail from Meggy but decides to ignore it this time. As they approach a fork in the road, Puzzles chooses to take the left lane, heading toward the border and out of the country. However, WPNZ reassured Puzzles that he didn't need to erase his memories of his former family, emphasizing that it was okay to feel pain from those recollections. When Puzzles questioned why WPNZ chose to keep those memories instead of erasing them, WPNZ explained that they added authenticity to his life, and erasing them would be a form of self-deception. He then gifted Puzzles the projectile shell as a keepsake, prompting Puzzles to wonder about the future of their friendship. WPNZ replied that it would depend on how things unfolded. This conversation led Puzzles to realize the importance of confronting his consequences rather than trying to prevent them, resulting in a change of heart that compelled him to bail out of their car and run away while leaving behind a thank you note.
As Mr. Puzzles returns to the present to address WPNZ regarding for the former's actions as well as attempting to apologize to him, the alterations Puzzles made to the timeline created a temporal anomaly that now threatens to consume all of existence. The entirety of the Internet Archives are obliterated as a shadowy figure exited, revealing himself to be WaluRambo from the Waluigi Rejection Arc. Moments later, other past arc villains exited the temporal anomaly, including Francis (accompanied by the False Sephiroth who killed Desti), Niles/SMG0 (as Ax0l), Marty, Lawyer Kong, and SMG3's prior villainous self. With his change of heart, Mr. Puzzles offered to fix the YouTube remote in an effort to close the temporal anomaly, though Mr. WPNZ tried to stop him. The crew prevented him from doing so, if they don't get the remote fixed in time, it could very well mean the end of all life as we all know it. So WPNZ and Toomp, who willingly take that risk, side with the resurrected arc villains, and battle against the SMG4 Crew and Mr. Puzzles.
Rap Battle (Worlds Collide)[]
All: Serve revenge cold, we'll just reheat it!
Just as Mr. WPNZ, Toomp and the resurrected villains are about to finish everyone, Mr. Puzzles fires a blast from the remote to the sky, causing various portals to open, and stepping from them, are various supporting and background characters that have appeared in the series over the years and come to the crew's aid to defeat all the antagonists.
Climax[]
Once he successfully fixes the remote and the crew sends all the villains and the past characters to their respective time periods, Mr. Puzzles prepares to confront WPNZ, who expresses his remorse, admitting that his intention was not to mend their relationship but to alleviate his own guilt for betraying him. Puzzles allows himself to be beaten up, but WPNZ hesitates, unable to bring himself to kill Puzzles, leading to WPNZ forgiving Puzzles for manipulating him and a reconciliation of their friendship (much to SMG3's confusion). Mario spoils the moment of Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ making up by telling them to get a room and hurry up because he wants to go home. It earns him a combined blast from the two for his troubles. Unfortunately, the temporal anomaly continues to expand, threatening to obliterate all of existence. With everything on the line, Puzzles uses the remote to close the anomaly, with WPNZ and the others assisting him. In a final act of bravery, Puzzles sacrifices himself to seal the anomaly from within, and WPNZ hands SMG4 a note for his family before stepping in to help, knowing they most likely won't come back from this. Puzzles shares his final words with Meggy, expressing that they will never be friends for all the mental torture she endured and acknowledging that he has wronged her and her friends in ways that he cannot fully make amends for, finally realizing his lifetime ambition for fame and jealousy has fully corrupted him. He hopes that his sacrifice might mean he did at least one thing right and hopes that it might give her and the others a brighter future. He gives out one last thank you to everyone for giving him a wonderful life before the anomaly closes on both Mr. WPNZ and Mr. Puzzles, sealing their fate.
Epilogue[]
With the timeline stabilized at the cost of Puzzles and WPNZ's lives, everyone was shocked and confused about this, especially Meggy, who is on the edge of crying, speechless at how far Puzzles went. Back in the Showgrounds, Meggy is left reflecting about Mr. Puzzles after every terrible thing he did. She asks Mario for his thoughts on whether Mr. Puzzles really was a good man in the end. Mario finds it complicated to answer, believing that Mr. Puzzles wasn't truly evil; he was just incredibly lonely and loneliness can drive people to act in desperate and crazy ways to seek attention and connection, and he did all of the terrible things he did to the crew back in 2023 is because fame was his only way to be noticed and potentially have friends. Mario recalls a time when he felt isolated and resorted to covering himself in beans and rolling in the dirt to attract crows. Mario and Meggy spot Toomp alone and are surprised when he reveals his ability to talk to them. He shares that he came to Earth to study friendship. Through his experiences with Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ, he has learned the true meaning of friendship and with his research done, he leaves Earth to return to his home planet, much to their confusion.
The SMG4 Crew throws a party, inviting everyone to join in the festivities. Karen opened the note from Mr. WPNZ that SMG4 had given her, and she couldn't help but shed a few tears as she reflected on his selfless decision to save everyone. Meggy still laments on Mr. Puzzles' sacrifice, with her inner Leggy wishing he was there to celebrate as well, with Mario at least being able to eat to ensure their memories of him. Shortly after, the episode concludes with SMG4 calling the crew to his room for a brief discussion, where he would make an important yet regretful announcement.

Trivia[]
- This is the final WOTFI installment in the SMG4 series as the series will end on December 27th, 2025.
- It is the first WOTFI installment:
- without a promotional trailer since 2016, as the team was focused on the production of this episode and were planning a special surprise for WOTFI which they wouldn't spoil it until the release of the video.[1] However, the community post teasers are still shown.
- since 2013 to not have fan suggestions or fan choices.
- since 2019 where X gets a "major" role.
- to not have Mario, SMG4 and SMG3 go against each other.
- to not advertise merchandise directly in the episode since 2019.
- Because of everyone's time-travel shenanigans, this wiki page holds the longest list of continuity/episode references to date.
- This is the second time both SMG3 and SMG4's debut and current designs have been shown, the first being It's Gotta Be Perfect.
- This episode marks the return of various one-off or lesser-known characters from both the classic and modern era.
- This is the longest WOTFI episode in the SMG4 series, surpassing WOTFI 2023 by 4 minutes.
- Series-wide, War Of The Fat Italians 2025 is the first ever episode of the whole SMG4 series to have a section animated in Blender.[2]
- SMG4 and Mr. Puzzles getting punched by Mr. WPNZ before getting the YouTube Remote might be a reference to Donkey Kong Bananza, where Void Kong dived toward the Banadanium Root before getting uppercutted by the true final boss of the game.
- Out of all villains appearing in this episode, Ztar, Bob Bobowski (The Rapper Bob Arc) and Oneshot Wren are not present for the rap battle, though the latter was indirectly mentioned by Meggy.
- This is the third 2020s WOTFI to not be an official arc finale after 2023 and 2024.
- This episode reveals that Melony has the ability to give extra power to her friends when needed. In the rap battle, she gives the following to the crew, in addition to extra strength:
The Crew powered
- Mario & Luigi: Bros Attack
- SMG3: Sword
- Meggy: Levitation
- SMG4: Lightning
- Tari & Boopkins: Dodge Speed
- Bob: Gold and Movement Speed
- Saiko: Giantness
- Peach and her castle also makes their canonical appearance in this WOTFI, although appearing in the old modern timeline when showing the time travelling, explaining her fate.
- This is the first time Saiko and Melony interacts with Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ normally in person.
- It is unknown what happened to both Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ after they both sealed the rift from the inside, saving the universe.
- In this teaser (click on the white square to see the GIF), three frames are shown in Puzzles' screen referencing a place or a character from previous episodes. All the frames were featured in the SMG4 MEGA COMPILATION - 5 years of r*******ness (2016)[3]:
- Glowshire Kingdom, 99.5% crazy (2013);
- Tinky Winky on a table next to Mario, Cooking with Bowser & Mario 2! (2014);
- Mario, Luigi Wants to Build a Snowman. (2014)[3].
- When Mario stomps on Toadsworth while running from Chain Chomp, he briefly appears in his old retexture Toad model.
- The moment when SMG4 was passing through the time portal seeing various episodes from the past is similar to the Bowser capture cutscene in Super Mario Odyssey.
- During the final part of the Rap Battle, the Glitchy Gang summons almost all of the characters from past episodes from different portals to stop the villains, similar to the final confrontation between the restored superheroes and Thanos' army in Avengers: Endgame.
- Mr. Puzzles breaks the Fourth Wall when Mr. WPNZ appeared to have successfully taken down Puzzles. Believing the the deed is done, he began to walk away, only to be confronted by Puzzles, who was furious that Mr. WPNZ couldn't wait before the third act could unfold.
- The scene of Mr. WPNZ and Mr. Puzzles holding hands together to make their sacrifice resembles similar to how Deadpool and Wolverine tries to break the time ripper in Deadpool & Wolverine.
- The iconic end card "That's All Folks!" from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shows is the last thing that appears on Mr. Puzzles' screen as he & Mr. WPNZ close up the anomaly rift.
- Like in the remastered version of Who let the chomp out?, the chomp chase scene with Mr. Puzzles still has the original song being copyright claimed and replaced with a parody cover badly sung by Toad instead.
- According to Dr. SMG3, the external funders mentioned in the credits are the following.
- The British Royal Family
