SMG4 Christmas 2018: The Most Important Thing is the fifty-fifth episode of Season 8 and the four hundred and sixty-third overall to be uploaded by SMG4.

This is also the eighth episode of the Christmas special and the finale of The Rapper Bob Arc. It was aired on December 22, 2018.

Synopsis

Bob learns what's most important to him... the hard way. This is the final episode of the Rapper Bob Arc.

Plot

Even Yoshi has somebody to celebrate Christmas with, and he has been on the run for ages!

—Bob

The video starts with Luke Lerdwichagul and Kevin Lerdwichagul telling the viewers that the Saiko Bichitaru in her Darkest Hour outfit poster was available for a limited time and that the SMG4 tour tickets were also on sale if they had yet to know about it.

The actual episode starts with Bob in his Santa Claus outfit flying with several presents. Apparently, the gang were all having a good time until Bob crashed through the castle's window, crushing Bowser in the process. He presented to them golden statues of themselves that he bought with what was left of his money but they were not interested.

MARIO RAGES AT BOB!! XD

Nobody loves Bob!! XD

Apparently, Bob tried to connect with them but they had with enough with Mario releasing his extremely annoyed frustration at him first. Soon the others chimed in, with SMG4 explaining that they did not trust Bob anymore for using them just to gain fame and ordered him to get lost. Realizing his rap career (the diss track especially) has caused his friends to now hate him with a burning fire, a depressed Bob agreed to leave them alone, dumping his Santa costume and leaving the castle. Once he left, Tari wondered if they went a bit too harsh on him but Toad doesn't care.

As Bob wandered through the streets, he saw how the others had someone to enjoy Christmas with (although he called out two Teletubbies for being disgusting even though they were only making snow angels on the ground, telling them to do it indoors), even Yoshi (although it was spent evading the police for tax fraud). As he got back to his dumpster home, he wondered if he should stay there for the rest of his life. Suddenly, a person snuck up to him, causing Bob to get paranoid.

The person turned out to be Waluigi, who empathized with Bob and told the Garo to follow him. As they went through the dump, Bob asked Waluigi if he was going to unleash another apocalypse, because if he was, he refused to be part of it. Waluigi said no, and he was only for Bob, who then asked if Waluigi was hitting on him which he said no, and then asked Bob between money, friends, or power (which he did so demonically), what mattered to him the most. Bob said it was all of them, causing Waluigi to not give the answer right away and instead climb the large rubbish bag.

Eventually, Bob also reached the top of the garbage heap. He tried to get Waluigi's attention for a while but it did not work. Waluigi then turned to Bob (looking at the Garo as if he was about to release his rejection power) and asked what was the most important thing to him. Bob hesitated but responded with selfish answers like cash, his fans, and women. This eventually led to Waluigi throwing Bob off the cliff. In such a moment, Bob had several flashbacks with him and his friends, with the last one being with him considering Boopkins his best friend. Just as he was about to be splatted to death, Waluigi used his powers to stop him. The near-death experience caused him to admit that it was friends that were the most important thing, which Waluigi was not only pleased with the answer, but he also said that he was good at giving near-death experiences before winking at the camera. He then left in a style of Mary Poppins, not knowing that Bob called him an a**.

At a shopping mall, Luigi asked Mario if he was happy with Christmas shopping, just to see his mentally disabled older brother attacking a mall Santa for not giving him any presents. He, naturally, was shocked and had to calm him down. Nearby, Shroomy came out happy that he was no longer a robot, only to accidentally fire eye lasers at a heavy theater sign, which proceeded to crush Bowser (who was using a wheelchair), causing Shroomy to slowly slide away. At another part of the mall, Tari had laid her eyes at another duck, causing her to go so crazy at it that Saiko took out a holy cross, believing her to be possessed. Meanwhile, Toadette was with her boyfriend Toad (who wanted to play Super Smash each other in the ass bros Ultimate) walking through the mall together when she saw mistletoe. She was hoping to kiss him but Toad instead violently smashed her into a shop where Banana Joe asked if she needed anything.

Fishy Boopkins was very sad that he was not enjoying Christmas even though he should be when he suddenly heard some rapping in the distance, who turned out to be Bob. SMG4 questioned Bob's logic over restarting his rap career, Saiko found it cute, and Boopkins was sad about how Bob did not learn his lesson. Bob eventually ended the rap and was glad that there were people who still wanted to hear his songs despite Darkest Hour severely damaging his career. He then announced that it was his last rap song and that he was retiring to be with his friends. His fans felt betrayed and protested his decision, but his friends (Boopkins especially) were very pleased, if not initially shocked, with his decision.

SMG4 and pals meet Bob

Looks like everyone trust Bob in a favor.

As Bob was in his home enjoying his former life, his friends all gathered around him to celebrate Christmas with him with Mario explaining that while Bob was still an a**hole, he was still their a-hole. When Bob opened his gift, it was a picture of them with Bob taped to it, causing him to cry (although he put it as his eyes were urinating). That resulted in the other characters opening their presents: Tari got the new duck she saw at the mall, naming it Archibald, Luigi got a new Game Boy Color, SMG4 got the Holy Meme Bible, Toad got Minecraft coal (much to his frustration), Mario got a can of Sprite Cranberry, Saiko got a body pillow of a body pillow (or possibly a Sandbag from Super Smash Bros. Brawl) and Meggy got a white Anglerfish Mask (both were disgusted with their presents), and Bowser got a Super Crown (although he had flashbacks to the Bowsette meme). Bob asked Boopkins where was his present to which the Spike replied he already had one and it was right in front of him. Bob initially said it sounded gay, before revealing it to be a joke as he hugged his friend.

Nearby, Wario observed everyone being friends and thanked Waluigi for what he did, with Waluigi replying that since it was Christmas, it was best to use his powers to make friends. Wario also thanked his brother for stealing the sled due to it being a good getaway vehicle and used it before the police could catch up with them. The brothers then flew off into the sky as coins fell from the bags in the back.

Trivia

  • The running gag in this episode is Bowser getting injured. First, he was crushed by Bob's sled when he crashed through the castle window. Next, he was crushed by a theater sign at the mall when Shroomy unintentionally shot a laser beam at it. Lastly, he was sent flying by Tari when she gets overexcited about opening the presents.
  • Apparently, Shroomy got his original body back although he still has some of his cyborg powers (eye lasers).
  • The Snowmen's pose Swagmaster made is the same as the thumbnail of Luigi Wants to Build a Snowman.
  • Near the end, both Wario and Waluigi stole cash, which could be a callback to Wacky Wario Bros: The Christmas Heist.
  • Toad reveals to still dislike Toadette.
  • Saiko apparently still hates Bob as shown at the ending where she stopped Luigi from calling Bob their friend, but rather their acquaintance.
  • This episode marks Bob's redemption.
  • This is the second Christmas episode where Mario is seen getting a present, as in other Christmas videos, he did not. The first one was SM64 Christmas 2015 - Christmas Crazies.
  • This is the first Christmas episode where Toad is seen getting coal. This is apparent due to him being a hateful person (though for some reason, he made it into the nice list in Christmas Crazies).
  • This is the second Christmas special episode where Fishy Boopkins wears a Squid Nordic. The first one was SMG4 Christmas 2017: The XMAS Discovery.

  • Avengers: Infinity War - This is where Thanos throws Gamora off a cliff for the Soul Stone, this happened to Bob.
  • Bowsette - Bowser gets a Super Crown from the then-upcoming New Super Mario Brothers U Deluxe, causing him to have flashbacks of the meme.
