Season 14 is the fourteenth season of the SMG4 series, and the fifth season of the 2020s. The season premiered on January 13, 2024, and ended on December 28, 2024.

Synopsis

After losing their old home and building a new one, the lives of the gang start to go back to normal. However, they're too soon to realize that SMG4's insanity was only the beginning. When the crew finally gets introduced to the man that caused all the chaos who's goal to become famous and recognized, the crew must narrow through the tricks and traps of a streaming service that imprisons them to escape and get revenge on him for messing up their lives. Little do they know that he is secretly chasing a dream that he has always wanted for his entire life.

Overview

Continuing the tradition that first started in Season 9, The season began with a "s***post" episode, SMG4: Mario Opens a Can of Beans, followed by Mario Reacts to Lethal Nintendo Memes. The tenth anniversary of Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Who Let the Chomp Out? was celebrated with a remaster as part of the Remastered64 series.

SMG4 and SMG3 launched their own spin-off series, and Mr. Puzzles began hosting Puzzlevision, a show that continued after his defeat. Luke remastered several older episodes, including The Cake Is a Lie!, R64: Mario Simulator, R64: Mario's Road Trip, and R64: Stupid Mario Kart.

Mr. Puzzles started seeking the secrets of The Meme Factory, and befriended Meggy's alter-ego, Leggy, however, failed. Driven by revenge, he began planning to take down the SMG4 crew, especially Mario. Meanwhile, Marty escaped prison and plotted against Mario.

Mr. Puzzles was offered a role at Didney by Mickey Mouse, but betrayed him, taking over as CEO and turning Didneyland into his own park. After killing Mickey, he transformed Didney World into his own creation and planned to brainwash the SMG4 gang, with Meggy turned into Leggy again.

Mr. Puzzles' plans were foiled, and he was arrested. With him now in prison, Puzzle Park and Didney were shut down. Meggy returned to her original self, and SMG4 started collecting rides from Puzzle Park to take to the Showgrounds for upgrades.

Events

• Fishy Boopkins, Bob and Shroomy now have permanent subtitles while voicing over like SMG4, SMG3, and Meggy.
• Tari’s Meta Runner Arm becomes sentient and is named Clench.
  • In addition, Tari also received her second voice actress, Lottie Bourne, succeeding Celeste Notley-Smith.
    • Unfortunately, this would result in real-life controversy where Glitch Productions, specifically Kevin and the higher management coming under fire while some of the actors resigned and quitted from the studio due to it being revealed that Notley-Smith was replaced with Bourne as Tari's VA without her knowledge or consent.
• SMG4 and SMG3 have started their very own titular spin-off series.
  • The episode, The Retirement of SMG3, was created by SMG4 and SMG3.
• Mr. Puzzles, who was introduced in Season 13, returns as the main antagonist.
  • Mr. Puzzles is also mentioned by name for the first time.
  • He is also revealed to run an entertainment show called Puzzlevision, which he trapped and brainwashed SMG4's Gang to act for his own entertainment. However, thanks to the efforts of the gang, they were able to end his nightmare and get rid of Mr. Puzzles for now.
  • He was later revealed to have survived and is no longer going forward with the 5-star rating plan, as he is currently (but secretly) wanting to transform SMG4's show into his very own and needs the Comedy Zone in SMG4's Meme Factory to do it.
  • He was able to enter the Meme Factory with the help of Leggy and is on his way to the Comedy Zone, but has now been defeated by Mario. Mr. Puzzles seeks revenge to get all of them as he leaves in a FedEx truck.
• Mr. Puzzles has eliminated Mickey Mouse Scar style to take over Didney and make it into Puzzle Park. To make matters even worse, Meggy was turned into Leggy once again.
  • He uses Leggy, to capture the entire SMG4 Crew by luring them into his new park, except for Mario and SMG4, before revealing to have fused with the Engine Core in the engine room of the entire park. However, Mario and SMG4 were able to restore Meggy back to normal, save everyone and Mr. Puzzles has been arrested for his unforgivable crimes as well as Puzzle Park being permanently closed. Meggy has separated her self with her Leggy form, saying that Leggy moved on to a better place while SMG4 is collecting the surviving rides from Puzzle Park to take to The Showgrounds for upgrades.
• Two new spin-off episodes, Super Mario 64 Poorly Explained and SMG4 Simulator are announced at the end of SMG4 Movie: PUZZLEVISION.
• From SMG4 Doesn’t Meme For 1 Second to The Fight Of All Time, the regular episodes will not have a prefix in their title.
• SMG4 begins the construction of the Meme Factory in order to attract tourists to the quiet Showgrounds that involves memes.
• Meggy's cowboy outfit from WESTERN SPAGHETTI becomes available to download from the Garry's Mod workshop page on Steam on July 21st.
• Zachary Preciado and Micah Preciado of Zaminations have started working for SMG4 and Glitch Productions, starting from TRASH FRIENDS.
  • Coincidentally, Aaron Rogers returned as lead writer for main series episodes, whereas Kevin Lerdwichagul is credited for only five episodes in 2024 (if not counting episodes 1 to 5, which were most likely written in late 2023).
• Leggy has become a recurring character, but has now been separated from Meggy after the events in War Of The Fat Italians 2024.
• Marty has returned to get revenge on Mario for abandoning and leaving him to rot in prison.
• SMG4 THEORY has also been released.
• SMG4 CREW series has now been merged with the main series.

• In October, a new Story/Character Writer position for SMG4 was opened on Glitch Productions' career webpage. This position is for someone who will help create and develop new characters, stories, and adventures for the series.
  • Evan Besser and WizardzWiz might have signed up for this.
• Starting off with SMG4 Doesn’t Meme For 1 Second onto the end of the season, the regular episodes' video title no longer have a prefix in their title anymore. The label returned in February 2025.
• With 57 overall videos (counting SMG4 CREW and trailers), the year 2024 has the least amount of overall videos since Season 5 (2015, 47 videos), and the fifth least ever (behind years 5, 1, 2 and 4).
