Uzi, the homework was a word problem about buying watermelons.

—The teacher's response to Uzi's presentation in the first episode.

Uzi's unnamed teacher is a minor recurring character in Murder Drones. As his given title implies, he is the teacher of Uzi Doorman and the rest of her class.

Appearance[]

He is a Worker Drone with neon amber eyes. He wears a green hardhat as well as a pair of glasses. His attire consists of a blue vest and black tie with round glasses.

Personality[]

Unlike the other Worker Drones, the Teacher does not appear to be scared so easily, constantly being shown in a state of disinterest even in dangerous situations (i.e. Uzi pointing her railgun at her classmates, causing them to panic).

History[]

Past[]

Not much is currently known about the teacher's past. However, it is known that he has had issues with his students, particularly Uzi Doorman, who he would start to suspect had some sort of damaged programming.

MURDER DRONES (PILOT)[]

After hearing Uzi's presentation, he points out that the homework assignment was a word problem on buying watermelons, and that her emotional baggage was only worth two points on the Rubric.

MURDER DRONES - Episode 2: Heartbeat[]

Sometime after Uzi left the colony with N, the teacher has a parent-teacher conference with her father, Khan. There, he notes Uzi's absence and suggests that she may have damaged programming, leading Khan to wonder if he hadn't spent as much time with her as he should have. This, however, leads Khan to go off on the teacher about how Uzi isn't doing that bad.

MURDER DRONES - Episode 3: The Promening[]

Khan mentions that the teacher helped him to get Lizzy and Doll to help Uzi prepare for the prom, and later was shown watching over it himself, showing mild annoyance at Thad's attempts to show off.

MURDER DRONES - Episode 4: Cabin Fever[]

He takes Uzi on a trip to Camp 98.7 per her request, but also brings the rest of the class as punishment for their poor test scores. As they're heading back, he questions V about the missing students, to which she claims that she "got hungry" (in reality, Uzi had killed them while turning into a Disassembly Drone-esque form).

Trivia[]

  • He is voiced by Liam Vickers, the creator of the series.
  • A common misconception is that his name is Riley. The credits for the pilot episode, however, list Liam Vickers as the voice of "Riley/teacher", implying that the green-eyed drone in front of the class, also voiced by Vickers, is the real Riley.
    • It was later confirmed in the episode 2 credits that the teacher is not Riley.
  • In Heartbeat, he was shown to be able to play Solitaire (or some other singleplayer card game) in his mind. Whether or not other Worker Drones can do something similar is unknown.
  • Despite being a minor character, he often plays a role in the plot of a few episodes:
    • Although not directly affecting the plot itself, his comments towards Uzi in "Pilot" help establish her status as an outcast within the colony.
    • His conference with Khan in "Heartbeat" leads the latter to realize he hasn't been a very good father towards Uzi, which he begins trying to improve upon in later episodes.
    • He helped convince Lizzy and Doll to help Uzi prepare for prom, which lead Uzi to discovering Doll's true nature.
    • He was the one who took Uzi and her class to Camp 98.7, per Uzi's request.
