The Last Playthrough is the forty-second episode of Season 15 of the SMG4 series, the seven hundred and thirty-sixth within the series, and the nine hundred and sixtieth video overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.
The video was uploaded on November 15, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Tari and Saiko have their final adventure, going through MANY things.
Plot[]
The video starts with SMG4, Saiko, and Tari falling through a colorful void, with SMG4 saying that they are gonna be playing some of Tari's favorite games.
PEAK[]
The game begins with Tari telling Saiko & SMG4 they have to reach the PEAK of the mountain to win. The scene transitions to the two girls having already started climbing the mountain while SMG4 is still seen stuck at the bottom struggling to try & climb the mountain, SMG4 then decides to give up and relax until Saiko runs back down and grabs the lazy Meme Guardian. Saiko is now seen carrying SMG4 while climbing the mountain (much to her dismay), but when see notices that carrying him is causing her Stamina to decrease, she orders SMG4 to get off of her immediately (which he refuses to cause he's tired). Tari tries to break up the fight between the Waifu & Meme Guardian by motivating them to work together with the power of "TEAMWORK", Saiko reluctantly agrees to work together with Tari only she if helps her carry SMG4. The two girls are now struggling to manage climbing the mountain while trying to lift the lazy SMG4; while this is happening, the sun appears & shines it beam on the three, SMG4 notices this and applies himself with sunscreen to protect his skin (Tari & Saiko end up getting temporarily burnt alive due to not having any sunscreen). The three now encounter horde of scorpions, which Saiko instantly gets rid of by using SMG4 to whack them into space, which poisons the latter (which also serves as Karma for barely helping the girls). Tari is now shown floating in the air with a balloon tied to her back while carrying SMG4, a hummingbird appears and sees the trail mix that SMG4 is eating and wants some, but the latter shoos it away. Irritated that SMG4 won't share his trail mix, the hummingbird takes it's frustration out by popping Tari's balloon, causing both her & SMG4 to fall and explode.
SMG4 & the girls are now seen resting on a certain part of the mountain. Saiko is now starving and after seeing that SMG4 has eaten of their food, she goes insane and hallucinates SMG4 as a roasted chicken and attempts to eat him. SMG4 pulls out a shotgun and shoots Saiko to defend himself, he also threatens to use a pack of dynamite on the Hangry Waifu if she attempts to eat him again. Saiko charges towards SMG4 anyway as the latter lights the dynamite, which blows them & Tari off of the mountain. While floating in the air, Tari suggests to try a another game that doesn't involve so much dynamite.
R.E.P.O.[]
The game begins with the 3 being tasked to collect objects around a mansion that cost about $1,000 or they they'll die.
|
Guitar Hero (copyrighted)[]
Before the game could start, SMG4 stops, telling them that they have copyright songs in this game. Saiko didn't stand for this copyright rule, and argued that this was the last adventure, so SMG4 had an idea to try sound effects that Tari and Saiko can play.
Helldivers II[]
In the next game, SMG4 and the girls must kill mutant bugs.
|
Hollow Knight: Silksong[]
In Hollow Knight, SMG4 and the girls are bugs that they had to face a giant insect.
|
Kevin's School[]
In the last game, the girls and SMG4 are in Kevin's school, to where Saiko came from. Saiko declined that they don't need theatrics and she is happy to hang out with them, but Tari pleaded that she wanted to be in the visual novel and brought an outfit.
|
Ending[]
Now on the roof, Saiko remembered it was long ago ever since she was in a 2D. She recalled that she had grown up, starting a band, help defeat enemies and had made friends. Tari agreed, saying she used to play games all day long and the day she met Mario and the SMG4 crew, she had gotten stronger.
SMG4 smiled and thanked them both. Before the episode can end, Mario pops up and ruins the moment, interrupting the girls and SMG4 (much to their annoyance).
Photos of Tari & Saiko spending time together are seen in the credits as they roll. After the video's featured fan art & the names of the Channel's sponsors were shown, a final picture of Tari & Saiko appears, which shows them leaving The Showgrounds together on a sunny evening.

Trivia[]
- This episode marks Saiko's first thumbnail appearance since Final Hours (2019), and the first and possibly only one with her 2022 design.
- This episode showcases Tari and Saiko’s final adventure.
- Despite this being Tari’s final adventure Clench’s origins are not explained nor does he even appear in the episode.
- This episode's credits differ from regular episodes. Instead of the Super Mario Land theme within a blue and white background, credits roll similar to movies with Saiko and Tari's best moments shown, and ends with a last picture of them in the Showgrounds.
- The video begins with Tari, Saiko, & SMG4 falling through a endless colorful void, just like how Crash is seen during the loading screens of the PlayStation 2 version of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.
- After the hummingbird pops the balloon holding him & Tari, SMG4 pulls out a sign saying "uh oh" right before he & Tari fall to the ground, which is akin to the character Wile E. Coyote from the Looney Tunes franchise.
- In the Kevin's School scene, as part of the role play, Saiko invites Tari to "come over to her place and study with her" to which Tari replies calling Saiko "Senpai" (usually this term in western pop/meme culture is referencing a romantic crush) teasing the fan pairing of the two.
- This is even further teased by Saiko's response "I-It's not like I LIKE you or anything, idiot." A common phrase for tsunderes to say while secretly feeling the opposite.
