The Mario PC Virus is the forty-fourth episode of Season 14 of the SMG4 series, the six hundred and eighty-seventh within the SMG4 series, and the nine hundred and ninth video overall to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.
The video was uploaded on November 16, 2024.
Synopsis[]
SMG4 downloads Mario onto his PC. Absolutely nothing bad happens at all.
Plot[]
SMG4 is working intently and fiercely on his next greatest video, saying it's gonna be perfect. It turns out to be a poorly made video of the Family Guy intro dubbed SMG4 Guy, with members of his gang as the Griffins. Although it is going well, things take a turn when SMG4 tries to add some star wipe transitions, which he doesn't have. He decides to "borrow" some transitions, going to a website called totallynotsus.com, which causes an onslaught of pop-up ads to appear, forcing SMG4 to use his NES Zapper to shoot them away. After that, he gets excited when he sees a file called SupraMayroPlugin.bat, which he downloads. This soon causes a Mario to appear on SMG4's desktop, who introduces himself as a desktop assistant, Mario Buddy. He wants to make improvements, but SMG4 is having none of it, trying to delete Mario. He then assaults Mario with his mouse cursor, then tries to delete him. But when he right clicks, instead of hitting Delete, Mario makes his choose Refresh with the cursor, which gives Mario some extra energy with a Pepsi. Annoyed, SMG4 tries deleting Mario with his Zapper, successfully landing a shot on him.
SMG4 is briefly relieved, and opens up Vegas Pro to continue editing, only for Mario to again appear, irritating SMG4. Mario watches his video, and doesn't like what he sees, so he removes everything, places several files of a Goomba version of himself messing about, which he considers better. SMG4 frantically tries to undo this, showing the script to Mario. He turns into Clippy, the Microsoft Office Assistant, telling SMG4 he doesn't know what he is talking about, before changing the script that originally showed the Griffins having a gag to a song all about Mario, which he is deeply moved by. SMG4 starts losing his patience, and closes the script, then opens up the Nintendo 64 emulator, which has the N64 Mario in a greenscreen environment. Mario is fascinated, enters the emulator, excitedly greets himself, and the two dance. SMG4 is shocked and confused as to how that happened, and quickly closes the emulator, leaving Mario Buddy alone, causing him to break down. Despite this, SMG4 continues working, trying to search for some funny memes online, only for Mario to interfere again, making the cursor search for earrape memes instead, with the first result being the Monsters Inc. theme, blaring loudly to the point of blowing SMG4's flesh clean off his skeleton.
SMG4 starts to get irate, which Mario notices. He suggests taking a break, offering to close all of his programs, much to SMG4's horror, as he hadn't saved anything. Despite this, Mario hits close, then shoots the option to not save changes, thus erasing the file, which leaves SMG4 distraught. Mario then stupidly suggests listening to some "relaxing noises", which is a Spider-Man ASMR video of some chains being rubbed against a grater, which is the final straw for SMG4. He angrily grabs Mario with his mouse, seemingly getting rid of him by banishing him to the Recycle Bin. Inside the Recycle Bin, Mario is surprised to find several junk files and programs in there, and peculiar sights such as Folder from ONE getting mauled by some of Denzel Crocker's virus bots, the Windows 98 program BSoD'ing, causing it to wreck some blocks nearby, and most interesting is seeing another desktop assistant, Bonzi Buddy, caged up. Mario greets Bonzi, asking him how he got locked up. Feeling melancholic, Bonzi explains how he tried being a Buddy to SMG4, but he hated him, despite cracking jokes and such, with the final straw for SMG4 being when Bonzi downloaded some crazy files, which made the Meme Guardian enable his anti-virus, sealing away Bonzi. Mario is deeply saddened by Bonzi's story, promising to break him free. But right now, it's not possible, because SMG4's computer is robust. However, a Crocker virus bot bites Mario, causing his head to glitch out, which gives him an idea.
Meanwhile, SMG4 is calmly and happily editing his video, this time making a gag referencing Family Guy again, where the Griffins barf up while having a conversation. However, when he closes his video file, he gets surprised when his screen glitches out. Things go from bad to worse when Luigi twerking appears on screen, as the virus starts to take effect, with the Mario Head asking if he can "f**k SMG4's computer". A panicked SMG4 tries to close the program, but it is rendered impossible by Mario, who appears as a virus, who starts making the UI in his image, replacing all the desktop icons with icons of himself. SMG4 desperately tries to negate the effects by closing down Mario, only to then face an onslaught of more Mario imagery. Despite this, SMG4 tries to shoot away the viruses with his NES Zapper, only for more to appear. With the virus being too strong, SMG4 decides to draw out his "ultra secret weapon", which is a Luigi anti-virus stored in a thumbstick. Plugging it in, the anti-virus appears as a buff Luigi, who draws out his double ended cudgel to attack the virus. This proves to be pointless, however, as Mario is able to make the virus bots simply flatten Luigi's head by earclapping him. Things get even worse on SMG4's desktop, with the virus bots corrupting Gmod, finding 4's secret memes, and worst of all, wrecking havoc on SMG4's video file. Despite his efforts to stop them, they continue, with one virus bot playing a video called "Super Mario in Real Life", which shows Mario progressively getting more high poly, which causes SMG4's PC to severely overclock into combusting, blowing away SMG4.
The Meme Guardian gets back on his feet, and is horrified by his computer failing because of the virus, so he reinserts his anti-virus thumbstick, which does allow Luigi to respawn in the system, but he once again gets attacked by the virus bots, leaving him out of commission. SMG4 realizes that Luigi anti-virus isn't working, so he runs off to get something even stronger. Running across the world, he arrives at a military base out in the desert. Knocking on the door, he meets Swag, whom he frantically asks for some military tech to deal with his computer's viruses. At first, Swagmaster refuses, but he immediately changes his mind when SMG4 offers him a bribe of four (Monopoly) dollars, and gives him the more powerful anti-virus on another thumbstick. Then, SMG4 takes out his previous thumbstick and plugs in Swag's. Back inside the PC, the viruses are gleefully wrecking havoc, while Mario is playing limbo with them. However, their fun is interrupted by a red light appearing in the sky; Swag's military guardian pod appears, crashing in the ground. As the viruses and Mario take cover, many of the Guards appear, shooting the virus bots. The viruses retaliate, and it's soon war. Guards and virus bots shoot each other, different Guards like Chris and Swag deal with melees from taskbars and bullets, and so on. Swag rollerblades his way out of a virus bot, then lands on top of the Task Manager window, where he dances like it's DDR, enabling a system wipe to occur, like a nuclear blast. Everyone, both virus bots and Guards, including an unfortunate Mario, get caught in the large red blast. SMG4 watches, and is briefly triumphant that he had finally defeated the viruses, but alas. The entire Recycle Bin in SMG4's computer fractures open, and Bonzi is soon freed, to SMG4's horror, and to Mario and the virus bots' triumph. Bonzi himself is all too happy to be free at last, now that 4's computer has weakened, and eventually evolves into an angelic form, devastating the entire operating system on SMG4's PC.
SMG4 gets even more freaked out, trying to stop the devastation, but it's no good. Everything on SMG4's computer gets slowly deleted, with the gang in his video sadly embracing each other, as a large black hole devastating the OS consumes them all, with Mario being the last one, who says goodbye before accepting his fate. The screen goes black, with the blue screen of death appearing, leaving SMG4 deeply shattered, now that his work is all gone. He forlornly walks away from his computer, only for the glitched up screen coming on again, with Bonzi appearing. SMG4, furious with his handiwork, turns around, but stops when Bonzi assures him that his video files are okay. He reveals that he hasn't deleted them, because he is SMG4's Buddy, and will offer them back, on one condition--Bonzi wants all of the characters in the video to be changed to him, so that they can be buddies "forever". Despite being presented with such a harsh choice, SMG4 decides to pick the easy way out. He ends up throwing his entire PC into a trash can, saying he never really liked the video he was working on. Even though he disposed his computer, Bonzi is still revealed to be active, angrily saying that he'll be back. Despite this however, SMG4 gets the last laugh after all, when a garbage truck arrives and unloads the computer, with a frightened Bonzi in it, into the back, with the contents being crushed, getting rid of Bonzi for good.

- SMG4: Mario Opens a Pizza Shop: SMG4 runs around multiple background while one of the background tracks from Pizza Tower plays.
- SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2022, Mario Delves Into Nintendo Anti-Piracy Screens..., Mario Reacts to Illegal Nintendo Memes: All three episodes mention or show what happens when you pirate something. Here, SMG4 made a Mario Virus (Not the character by the same name) appear on his PC.

Trivia[]
- SMG4's PC is using Windows 10, which Luke coincidentally uses to make his videos in real life. The video editing software is Vegas Pro, which Luke uses to edit his videos.
- This episode was aired five years after Boys vs Girls.
- SMG4 and Swagmaster are the only characters to appear physically outside of SMG4's PC. In addition, while Mario did appear as a virus in SMG4's PC, he did not appear physically outside of the PC, making this one of the few episodes where a variant of Mario appears, but does not appear physically.
- There is a Fourth Wall break in this episode, where SMG4 runs into the camera.
- Running Gag: SMG4 trying to fix his PC from Mario only to fail every time, no matter what anti-virus SMG4 injects into Mario. SMG4 losing his progression on his Family Guy parody video.
- Three different versions of Swag appear in this episode: In real life, as an anti-virus, and in the Family Guy meme.
- Even though Swag appears as a USB similar to the SMG4 multiverse Guardian Pods, he likely has nothing to do with them given that he has no known avatar.
- One of the prompts that appears just before Swag's antivirus stick is injected is a WannaCry ransomware pop-up, heavily edited to make it more Mario-like.
- During the "Super Mario in Real Life" video, the highest polygon count is shown to be 6.02 * 10^23, which is known as the Avogadro constant, and it is the number of atoms, molecules or particles in one mole of a substance. When multiplied, this gives a whopping 602 sextillion, or 602 thousand billion billion billion, which is 602 followed by 24 zeroes. Unsurprisingly, by today's current standards, no computer, or even a gigantic server farm, can render that many polygons, resulting in explosive overclocking as shown in this episode.
References[]
- Family Guy: SMG4's video he was making is a parody of the intro, as well as ipecac scene (Commonly known as "Who wants Chowder?") from the episode "8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter". Additionally, as is SMG4 tradition of universal adaptor casting, SMG4 is Peter, Boopkins is Lois, Bob is Chris, Swag is Meg, JubJub is Stewie, and SMG3 is Brian.
- The Fairly OddParents: Mr. Crocker's virus bots appear from the season 2 episode "Information Stupor Highway".
- Angry Video Game Nerd: The 64 bits meme from the Tiger Games video is used.
- Pizza Tower: SMG4 running towards the military base for the antivirus.
- Dance Dance Revolution: It appears as one of Swagmaster69696969's reviving systems.
- Parks and Recreation: SMG4 throws away his computer similar to the meme where Ron Swanson throws away his computer into a dumpster.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion: SMG4 does the "Shinji in a Chair" meme when he is feeling upset after Mario expedites his files.
- Vinesauce: The ViaVoice segment from Vargskelethor Joel's Windows 98 Destruction is used briefly. Bonzi Buddy, a prominent character in the Windows Destruction videos appears.
- hfjONE: The character Folder appears in the Recycle Bin.
- Halo: Combat Evolved: A Crocker Virus and a Butt Ninja reenact the ending of the game where Sergeant Johnson and an Elite hugged each other in embrace before the two were killed in the ship's explosion.
- gmod: One of the deleted files in SMG4's recycling bin that Mario was sent to is Gmod, this is due to the fact most of SMG4 videos nowadays use Blender.
- Microsoft Windows 95/98: One of the files Mario bumps into is a spoof of Microsoft Windows 95 and 98 software from said years respectively.
- ASMR Spider-Man: The video that Mario shows SMG4.
- Bonzi-Buddy: Mario's name is Mario-Buddy. Bonzi-Buddy is the main antagonist.
Errors[]
- When SMG4 is telling Swagmaster69696969 about needing strong military tech to fight it, fight back is shown twice.
- SMG4: and I need some military tech to fight back! Fight back!
