"I have absolutely no idea what's going on." |
The following is the timeline of the main continuity from the SMG4 series and Sunset Paradise. This includes only events and lore that don’t contradict itself. Though if it does contradict itself, it will be placed in the Alternate/Non-Canon Continuity section.
Before The USB Altercations[]
Unknown Dates[]
- Wario's Mother is born.
- Granny Koopa is born.
- Joe Boopkins is born.
- Jeeves is born, somehow.
- Desti is born.
- June 5th[1] - Shroomy is born.
- Tari is born.
- Belle Fontiere is born.
- 1970 - Swagmaster is born.

Age of Zero and Niles[]
- The "unfathomable being of the Great Beyond" creates the Mage universe; its avatar is the red stickman named Fred and its Super Meme Guardian is the blue stickman named SMG0.
- While playing with the Memes of their Universe, SMG0 and Fred are suddenly left at their mercy after they become corrupted. However, a strange spaceship appears and its permits SMG0 to enter, where he is taken to its origin, the entity that exists out within The Great Beyond, known as the God Box. Realizing he was summoned by the box, SMG0 prays to it for help and it grants him a partner Meme Guardian named Niles.
- Niles journeys with SMG0 back to his universe where he and Zero work together to create the Internet Graveyard, a realm where corrupted dead memes can be cleansed, thus creating the Meme Life Cycle
- After some time, Niles becomes plagued by bizzare visions sent to him by the God Box. Seeking his creator for answers, it poisons his mind by telling him that he and his universe are "imperfect" and that he needs to fix it, by granting him the power of a virus. Unfortunately, he accidentally strikes down Fred in the process and realizing he needs an avatar for his "perfect universe". Using the God Box, Niles assimilates SMG0 against his will to become an ungodly, eldritch virus powerful enough to convert another universe into the perfect Mage universe: Eldritch SMG0.
Age of One and Two[]
- Following the destruction of Mage, Luke Lerdwichagul creates a new Universe known as "Spudnick's Great Adventure" with its Avatar being a red toy-like Child named Spudnick and his Guardians are a pair of blue and yellow toy-like beings named SMG1 and SMG2 who join him on many "wacky adventures", such as finding his missing teddy bear.
- However, Niles uses SMG0's Guardian Pod to escape their ruined world to the universe of Oldgrounds, where he attacks his successors and attempts to convert Spudnick into his new avatar. Unfortunately, his power is too corruptive and the strain tears Spudnick apart, causing SMG0 to temporarily gain control as he cries out "HELP..." as Spudnick's life force is ripped out of him and Oldgrounds begins to collapse.
- Permanently scarred by their avatar’s death and unaware of the true identity of "Zero", SMG1 distracts Niles while SMG2 goes off to evacuate everyone to their own Guardian Pod in order to escape their dying universe before it collapses completely. However, Niles manages to slip by SMG1 as he drops Spudnick's corpse in front of him before attempting to kill SMG2, only for SMG1 to surprise him by using SMG0's own USB to contain the virus as Niles' arm is amputated while trying to resist. Following the two into their USB, Luke Lerdwichagul then creates another universe using "Super Mario 64" with its Avatar being Mario.

The USB Altercations[]
2011[]
- After the events of Super Mario 64, Mario and Peach are sitting on the roof, looking to the sunset and talks about how they don't want things to change. Ironically, a USB-shaped spaceship falls down from outer space and crash-landed on a remote field. Mario and Peach, shocked by what just happened, start to head to the general direction it landed.[10]
- Meanwhile, a stranger comes out of the USB and starts to have an identity crisis. The stranger wanders around while the USB starts to suddenly emits electrostatic charges that can turn anyone stupid upon contact and can cause them to move at irregular speeds. (An example of this is a random Koopa Troopa who just happened to be there when the USB was emitting the charges and was a victim to its effects.) As the stranger walks into a computer store, he asks the store cashier where he was but is suddenly struck by the electrostatic charge seemingly out of nowhere and begins to act "crazy". Suddenly confused by the cashier's sudden actions, the stranger finds a random laptop on a diner bar stool and is suddenly fascinated by it. After uploading his first video on YouTube, he then gets the urge to produce content.[10]
- While the stranger is discovering the joy of creating content for YouTube, Mario and Peach finally arrive at the USB's landing site. Though, upon being very close to it, and despite Peach's warnings, Mario, assuming that its a spacecraft, gets zapped by it, causing him to lose all of his sanity, proceeds to take his clothes off, and throw Peach into the sky. Just as he did that, the stranger runs over to Mario and asks him to "do something stupid", in which he does. After uploading the video to YouTube, the same type of charge emitted out from the computer and made Mario regain some of his sanity. The stranger introduces himself as SMG4, and Mario comments on how everyone has "extra IQ" (which proves that Mario got the worst of it) After talking to Mario, a Trollface steals SMG4's laptop and shows him the "Meme Card", which causes SMG4 to be shocked. After a bit of a hassle, SMG4 and Mario decide to team up and make content so that they can tame everyone.[10]
- After making tons of content, the duo head back to the crash site and high-five each other until suddenly, even more electrostatic charges emit from the USB, causing the creation of Toast Guy in the process. The duo, after realizing that the USB is corrupting the kingdom and possibly the entire world, decide to throw the USB into an gorge. SMG4 feels like he just saved the world from even more stupidity while also realizing that the world was already stupid. He decides not to fix it as they all need a little humor in their lives. He then tells Mario that he's going to hang around and go to Meme School[note 5] while he's at it. Mario tells him that he can live in Peach's Castle and that Peach probably will mind.[10]
After The USB Altercations[]
Fabrications[]
The following events are the result of the USB Altercations, meaning the possibility of false memories as a side effect of being struck by the electrostatic charges while also causing a minor to major decrease in IQ levels based on how close they were to the USB.
1980s[]
- Shroomy is raised by Doomguy during this time period.[8]
- July 9th, 1981: Mario is sent to an orphanage.[note 1][note 2][11][8]
- Wario is often berated by his parents for "being so pathetic".[12] So, he and Waluigi would take their anger out on Bob Bobowski, who would eventually learn how to fight back thanks to Melvin Harris, who taught him the ways of the swag and gave him samurai swords.[8]
- September 13th, 1985: Peach and Bowser are born on the same day. They both are sent to the same orphanage Mario resides in.[note 2][8]
- In a Best Buy store, Luigi strays away from his mother and finds a vacuum cleaner in the adults section. He then inadvertently sucks up King Boo's son, causing his deep hatred for Luigi.[8]
- At some point, Luigi is sent to an orphanage where he meets Mario for the first time.[11]
- At some point, Wario and Waluigi end up at The Waa Kingdom.[5]
- In Kindergarten, Mario and Bowser suddenly began to fight over a plate of spaghetti left on a table by a young Old Man Hobo (whose hair was accidentally burned out by Bowser). upon Bowser noticing Princess Peach walking by, he became smitten with her and sabotaged the plan by taking one of the dolls Mario was using to climb to the table and giving it to her as a present. When Peach rejected the gift, an angered Bowser proceeded to grab her and hold her hostage. Mario, annoyed with Bowser, kicked away a Koopa Shell Bowser threw at him. The shell bounced back and hit the table with the spaghetti plate. Out of curiosity, Mario ate the spaghetti, finding it so tasty that he became obsessed with the food ever since.[8]
- At some point, Peach is adopted by Toadsworth.
- One day in the Waa Kingdom, Waluigi looks for Wario, as he is wondering where he went. Once he found him eating garlic icecream, he and Wario start to fight over it until the ice cream falls over the cliff. As Wario leaps forward to get the ice cream, Waluigi tries to pull him back up, he loses his grip and Wario lands on Toadsworth's boat, never to be seen again for 20+ years.[5]
- 1987: Doomguy organizes a birthday party for Shroomy, and turns it into a rampage party. Shroomy then goes on a crazy rampage until Golden Freddy bites his right head. As Doomguy kicked him away, Shroomy, due to the bite on the side of his head, decides to become a scout, to Doomguy's disbelief. This could be the notable "Bite of '87" in this universe.[8][14]
1990s - 2011[]
- Bob Bobowski moves to the Mushroom Kingdom from Canada as a tramp; in vagrancy until he settled himself in the dungeons of Bowser's Castle. Though at some point, he is magically transported to Ganondorf's dungeon.[15]
- April 6th or 7th, 1992: Axol is born in Inkopolis.[6][note 2]
- At some point, Melony works at the Black Mesa Research Facility. She then enlists in the United States Army and meets with the president. She is later chosen by NASA to go to space and accompanies Hideo Kojima.[8]

- Season 2 Episodes 2 - 5 takes place.[note 7]
Alternate/Non-Canon continuity[]
The following are episodes that used to be canon to the main SMG4 continuity before being retconned during the modern era to facilitate a consistent lore or that are part of their own continuity.
Retconned episodes[]
- Due to Characters' Origins changing the more the series progress, the following episodes are retconned to fit the main continuity as they contradict their modern iteration, the most likely explanation for most of them would be that those episodes are actual episodes in-universe and the "main cast" are portraying themselves as some episodes acknowledges the fact that it's scripted:
- Super Mario 64 Bloopers: How Mario was Born, Mario's origins was retconned in The (TOTALLY ACCURATE) Documentary of Mario and retconned again in SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- Super Mario 64 Bloopers: SMG4 VS SMG3, SMG3's origins were retconned in SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Plumber Academy for Idiots contradicts the origins of Mario and SMG4 from SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Sup' Bro? due to SMG4 not having a brother in-universe in Modern era.
- Super Mario 64 Christmas Thing 2012, despite referencing episodes that are canon, some of them aren't.
- Sob Story: Tale of a Bob-omb, King Bob-omb is alive in modern era and there are no indications that he still have a son.
- Super Mario 64 Shorts - Bob-omache, Mario is killed and replaced by a clone. It is also revealed that Mario is a failed alien experimentation and that Daisy is pregnant, all which doesn't fit the main continuity.
- The (TOTALLY ACCURATE) Documentary of Mario, Mario's origins were changed in SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- R64: A Dose of Dr. Mario, the part where Dr. Mario's origins are revealed, is retconned in SMG4: Mario University.
- SM64: Meet the Mario., the first encounter of Mario with SMG4 contradicts SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- SM64: Meet the Steve, Steve's personality, story and other related information doesn't fit modern iterations of the character.
- SM64: Meet the Bowser, due to Granny Koopa explaining Bowser's childhood which contradicts SMG4: SMG4's Origins though given that in the previous video, SMG4: Mario Babies Bowser is seen as a child, the logical explanation would be that the guardian pod altered their memories.
- The Wacky Wario Bros.: Waluigi Origins, Waluigi and Wario's childhood are retconned in SMG4: Mario Babies.
- SM64 Bloopers: Can Ganondorf come out to play?, Kevin has confirmed on Hobo Bros that Bob's origins would be retconned due to the 500 year inconsistency and claimed that Bob would have lied. This is officially confirmed in SMG4: Mario Babies.
- SM64 Bloopers: Super Cavemen Bros., their ancestor's existence and personality, contradicts SMG4: SMG4's Origins.
- Due to how the travel between the Minecraft overworld and the Main SMG4 universe in SMG4: If Mario Was in... Minecraft, the story of those following bloopers related to Minecraft are retconned:
- Super Mario 64 Bloopers: World of Craftmine
- Super Minecraft 64 Bloopers: ▂▃▄▅▆▇█▓▒░herobrine░▒▓█▇▆▅▄▃▂
- Super Minecraft 64 Bloopers: The Nether
