Hello there! This may be abrupt, but I've decided that I will be leaving this wiki once and for all. It was great knowing all of you guys for a "short" time, but I no longer wish to contribute to this wiki. The simple reason is that I have grown to dislike SMG4 and have lost interest in this wiki, for 3 reasons:
1. The content that SMG4 produces no longer interests me. At least back in 2011-2013, SMG4 put some effort into plot and witty humor that doesn't revolve around lolrandomxd expletives and GMOD ragdolls. Starting from 2014, SMG4's content slowly spiralled down into a disastrous mess of distasteful jokes and uninteresting gag characters. His shift to a corporation only solidifed his loss of quality. He now churns out profit-oriented content mechanically, with none of the soul or vibrance of his early videos.
2. I am deeply disappointed in SMG4 and myself after evaluation and introspection. SMG4 has always based his videos off of crude, vulgar humor that is unfunny and overdone. He waters down the same gags over and over again and exposes this to an audience of preteens. The ludicrious thing is, the jokes that he uses are frequently based on topics such as rape, homophobia, nudity, and more. There is frequent cursing in the videos as well. Now, this wouldn't be bad in certain cases, but in this case, SMG4 is advertising this to preteen children. His entire fanbase is a gaggle of screaming kids shouting expletives without even knowing what they mean. I have never seen such a toxic, unintelligent community before, and multiple past moderators of this wiki have shared my viewpoint on this. The more that I think about, the more that I realize that SMG4 has become something of a Logan Paul, desensitizing his young fanbase and making them ignorant and immature through cheap, superficial, easily duplicated content.
The reason I don't blame the fanbase as much as I blame SMG4 is because as immature and toxic as they are, SMG4 was the one who enabled such toxicity through exposing kids to his vulgar content. Granted, he was a preteen when he started Youtube too so he didn't know the full implications of his actions either, but he should've reduced his vulgarity when he grew popular rather than increase it. There are plenty of ways to be funny without being crude.
3. This wiki is hopeless. In the past, I have tried moderating it with my old buddies, until I realized that the bad grammar and the immature behavior is never going to go away, because the inherent nature of SMG4's content draws in ignorant preteens and toxic fans. Oshawott, Umbreon, and the new moderators will know this. This wiki is unorganized and uncivilized, and I would help if not for the fact that I don't want to celebrate someone who was a bad influence to so many people, including me as a child. Again, many past moderators share my viewpoint. Thus, a wiki about an inherently immature topic will never truly be cleaned up. Even now, the state of the wiki has greatly decreased in quality, and no amount of new admins is going to fix that up.
I renounce my support for SMG4 and criticize him and his low-quality, profit-oriented content. It should be looked at with shame that he is so influential and popular among online preteen circles when he produces such crass, unintelligent, corrupting videos for them to lap up.
So how do I know all of this when I've only been here for a few months? Because I've been here for a few years, actually. 2014, to be exact. I was one of the moderators. Did you know that I was the one who introduced tabs to this wiki?
After analyzing why I was such an ignorant kid back then, I realized that my viewing of SMG4 had some influence on my problematic online and IRL behavior at that time. I now feel nothing but contempt for SMG4 and his fanbase.
This is a final goodbye for this wiki. It was good and I made good buddies on it, but it's not for me anymore, and I would honestly argue that SMG4's not for any self-respecting individual, either.
